U21s centre-half Dan O’Connor has joined Vanarama National League South Farnborough on loan for the rest of the season.

O’Connor, 20, joined the Blues in January 2023 from Galway United in his native Republic of Ireland having previously been with Mervue United.

A regular with the U21s, although having missed the start of the campaign due to injury, the move to Boro is his first loan switch.

O’Connor made his debut as a sub in last week’s 0-0 draw at Salisbury and his first start in the 2-1 defeat at Aveley on Saturday.

PhuketPete added 08:54 - Jan 30 I don’t recall us loaning out many u21’s at all in past seasons - certainly not with the frequency we see this season. How many do we have out now getting adult men’s football? Must be a dozen. Let’s hope some of them really shine and we progress rather more of them to the first team than in years gone by.
