Enciso's Knee Injury Not Serious
Tuesday, 18th Feb 2025 16:41

Blues loan forward Julio Enciso’s MRI scan showed no serious problem regarding the knee injury he suffered at Aston Villa on Saturday, according to Dr Osvaldo Insfrán, the Paraguay national team’s chief medical officer.

Previously, news emerged from Dr Insfrán that Enciso would undergo an MRI scan on his left knee today.

That has how taken place and Dr Insfrán says the 21-year-old is making progress with no major problem having been shown up by the scan with reports elsewhere referring to to the injury as a “minor trauma” with the issue being assessed day-to-day.

“Julio Enciso is greatly improved, the resonance [MRI] threw nothing of gravity,” Dr Insfrán told Paraguayan radio station 650AM.

“He will enter a recovery regime in Ipswich, they don't have an estimated time at his club for his return.

“We talk about trauma or sprain, studies will be done. There’s no talk of a recovery time, we hope he can get back to training. He will do physiotherapy and rehabilitation work.”

Paraguay are concerned regarding Enciso’s fitness ahead of their March World Cup fixtures at home to Chile on March 20th and in Colombia six days later, and he hasn’t been ruled out of taking part in those games.

Enciso underwent two operations on the same knee in 2023 having torn his meniscus during training, sidelining him for six months.

All keepers make good saves but the better ones make fewer mistakes . The defence hasn't got any confidence in Muric he doesn't communicate with his defenders makes irational decisions and makes simple saves look spectacular. I rate McKenna and his coaching staff's opinions above anyone's on here .if anything he persisted to long with Muric.

If you look at Wolves fixtures it is quite conceivable that they will get over thirty points they are playing quite well at the moment and ran Liverpool close.
All we can do is keep the faith we have two games now against teams in turmoil so could pick.up some points just pick the same eleven with Godfrey or Woolfenden for Twenzebe and Broadhead for Encisco.

As I said Muric only made 5 mistakes that led to goals, after Man City game he just became a scapegoat because God forbid saying Morsy, Burns should never of been starting games. Why don't many look at the actual facts and stats, how does he not communicate he played with O"Shea at Burnley and let us not forget was coached by Richard Wright at Man City.
Look at goal difference after Arsenal game when Walton came in to what it was up to his injury he almost doubled it!
Anyway we have Palmer now who looks good fit at the moment but time will tell but I will stick up for Muric he isisn'to blame for league posotion, playing league 1 players amd leaving players on bench who cost millions is and I think that was a learning curve for Mck that sentiment does not work in football.
I hope he doesnt tinker with team on Sat aside Godfrey for tunazabe, and Szmodicks or Broadhead for Encisco, the dread is substitutions bringing on those league 1 players with 30 mins to go is a nightmare.

@leejames some of the garbage that comes from you is laughable! Davis, Hurst, Broadhead, Woolfenden are all from league 1 and have largely coped very well so far and largely playing well, so some support rather than ignorant negativity would be appreciated !

@Blueballs83 (sounds painful)
First of all thanks for the abuse, its my opinion based on stats and what I've watched, your one of the League 1 heroes obsessed.
Well I never said Woolfeden hasn't played well but has only played 8 games plus 2 sub out of 25 matches, Broadhead has only played 4 games 4 off bench 0 goals, Davis no longer like defending or doesn't have the speed to get back as a wing back, and Hirst has scored 1 goal and had had 4 shots on target in 13 appearences in league over 220 mins hardly prolific back up to Delap in terms of goals when you consider the likes of Jordan Ayew, Jota, Harry Wilson etc so before you give me comments check your stats, the players you mention do seem to have made the step up in the limited time they had on pitch.
I'm far from negative I just want us to try and stick to a starting 11 as much as possible rather than tinkering for sentiment that's all.

Leejames99 – according to the official PL stats, Muric has made 5 errors leading to goals. Sanchez has also made 5. No other player has made 5 (Onana is on 3). Officially Davis has made 0 errors leading to goals (our next highest player is Greaves on 2, Burns, J Clarke and Cajuste 1). Apparently giving away penalties doesn't count (I'm surprised by this too).

I agree that Davis makes us much more open, and also like the idea of him playing as a left winger ahead of Townsend. The reality is that the extra PL pace means he's too tired to get up and back like he did in the champ – as we saw at Fulham.

Muric's 5 errors have come in the 0-4 loss to Newcastle (1), 1-4 loss to City (2), 1-4 loss to WH (1), 1-2 loss to Bournemouth (1). The reality is that only one of those errors cost us points – the 1-2 loss to Bournemouth. Though, I think we can all agree that he absolutely cost us 3 points in that game, not just one.

So, all of this is to say that I agree with the point that you're making Leejames99 – that other players are responsible for us dropping points too, and that Muric has got a lot of flak because his errors are high profile.

But, I don't think official statistics always show the full picture.

Davis (and Morsy) giving away a penalty at Fulham cost us two points, but this isn't reflected in the stats.

But by the same token, Muric being an absolute hologram trying to keep out Aribo's shot against Southampton (and the list goes on and on), cost us three points too. Stats don't always show us what we can see with our eyes. Muric's shot stopping just hasn't been PL quality, his communication and passing also seem to be way below par.

Bringmeakuki, Davis has given away two penaltys leading to two goals, there errors however you want to look at it,
His positional play defending isn't that great, we sadly have two left backs who if we're one player would be fantastic, Townsend is the better defender Davis better attacking, atm I rather have a solid back four/five, let the forward players concentrate on scoring not wondering where Davis has been caught out again,

@bringmeakuqui

Thanks great response, thought out etc not just a 'you talk nonsense'. I totally agree tgat Bournemouth game and Southampton game goals were Muric fault to a point but I don't actually think Mckenna should of played Muric v Saints the damage in his confidence was done in front of home fans, think if we had been away may of been better but whats done is done i jist dont think at all that muric should be blamed entirely when Walton conceeded 16 in 6, we have Palmer now but I hope Muric has a great cup game to get some confidence and support back.

Thinking alot I really think Davis and Godfrey could do well in middle in a 3-4--2-1 as we could move to a back 5 with ease but break really quick.

Palmer
O'Shea
Greaves
Townsend
Davis
Godfrey or Johnson
Phillips
Cajuste
Hutchinson
J Clarke or Phillogene
Delap

The subs then are self explanatory.
If we get ahead we just need to defend like we did at villa and make no daft mistakes with fouls and penalties, I think we have a great chance vs Spurs and Man Utd

And Leejames don’t forget Muric sharing a smile with Pep after MAN City humiliation that’s not an emotion I want to see after an ailing like that! He did not come over and acknowledge fans at Villa, doesn’t appear to want to engage with fans. Maybe fans don’t want to study stats and judge by their. Own eyes. Stats can be very misleading, goals scored and conceded are the only stats that matter!

@dissboyitfc
Muric just happened to be on camera saying hello to Pep, he is allowed he used to play at Man City, I'm sure Delap and Phillips said hello to Pep and other players, ridiculous, and vs Villa well we can't blame him really, would you want ro walk over and clap fans who have given you abuse and also have you thought he might of been giving Palmer his moment in front of fans for his Man Of tge Match display as a fellow keeper, talk about finding tge slightest things.

In terms of goals scored and conceded you are right and with Muric in up to the Arsenal game we were minus 11 - 8 of which were from Newcastle and West Ham disasters- put Walton in and up to Southampton game we nearly doubled the minus goal difference which could cost us position in the end, aside the 2 drubbing mentioned which was down to team as a whole Muric in goal kept scores to 0-0, 1-0 etc against top top teams.

We have Palmer now but it's time give Muric a break, I hope he is an FA Cup hero.
Om more concerned about Morsy tomorrow

Muric won't be in the cup game unless McKenna wants out. I know for a fact the defence have no confidence in him this has come from somebody who works at the academy.

No Lee James he would have hello before the game , to be all smiles after that result is not acceptable. Hard to smile when youre in pain, if he wasn’t hurting it says so much!
I wanted to like Muric and gave him many chances but I can’t keep forgiving him.
You say time to give Muric a break, I agree but think you should also give Morsey a break, the guy is our captain and a massive reason why we are in the premier league, I trust KM to make the right call regarding the central midfield pairing.

Really struggling to understand how an article about Encisco can possibly have sparked another debate about Muric Walton and Davis.......

@linkboy13
I think Muric might be but we see who on bench tomorrow, I just hope he is so he can get some plaudits back but you maybe right we might start fielding first team now with place in quarters up for grabs.

@dissboy I don't not like Morsy I just think Premiership is a league to high for him and he not got tge pace or skill for central mid in this league but also I think Phillips and cajuste deserve to keep their places, be travesty to drop one for Morsy but on the other hand i always worry when i see subs waiting to cone on with Luongo etc so maybe be better to start Morsy and bring Cajuste on for him but I hope there is only the needed changes for Tunazabe and Enciso from the Villa game with maybe Johnson dropping out so we have pace to match Djed Spence.
Be good game tomorrow.

Just because you say something it doesn’t mean it’s fact! Here’s a thought for you, a defence will perform better if they have total faith in the keeper, it’s quite possible the players like many of the supporters have lost faith in him! You should also remember he came to us with a calamity waiting to happen reputation.

I do want to add this about Muric he is very capable of putting in a one off performance like palmer last Saturday. Palmers challenge now is to keep up that level. I remember Finidi George against derby, best home debut ever imo. He never reached that level again. Time will tell on how well Palmers career how while with us!

@Bazza864
I'm struggling to wonder why you needed to post that pointless post, all these league 1 player worshippers is getting ridiculous and worse still, the worst thing is fans calling players by their nicknames like they know them, Chappers and Burnsy and Woolfie etc it's ridiculous, if you still want league 1 football and standard of player then Cambridge is just up road. There isn't any teams in Premier who have midfielders of 33 aside Jorgino, De Bruyne and Erikson who have all had glittering careers.
I swear some people on here would much rather we were back in league one with their fave players and some wantbus to stay in Prem but with League 1 players it's ridiculous, if we leave Phillips or Cajuste on bench for Sam Morsy it will be a travesty but I do accept is most likely
