Besiktas Make Napoli Cajuste Loan Offer Friday, 4th Jul 2025 23:04 Besiktas are reported to made a loan offer including an option to buy to Napoli for ex-Blues loanee Jens Cajuste.
TWTD revealed that the Turkish side were leading the chase for the Sweden international a week ago.
Now, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Istanbul club has offered €1 million (£863,000) loan fee plus an €6.5 million (£5.6 million) buy option to the Serie A champions for the midfielder.
Cajuste impressed for Town while on loan during 2024/25 and the Blues are among those who have made an approach this summer, but with manager Kieran McKenna having admitted at the end of the season that “there’s probably a lot to do for that to happen”.
Italian reports have previously linked Udinese, French sides and Aston Villa, while earlier today Burnley and Crystal Palace were linked, as well as Sevilla in Spain.
We understand that while Palace aren’t interested, Burnley are keen as they look to add to their midfield numbers following promotion. Italian side Fiorentina are another of the suitors
The Gothenburg-born midfielder isn’t in Napoli head coach Antonio Conte’s plans and the Serie A champions are happy to let him depart permanently for €10 million (£8.52 million) this summer, according to Italian reports.
Cajuste, who has another three years on his Napoli contract, made 26 starts and seven sub appearances for the Blues during 2024/25, scoring once, and was beaten to the Supporters Player of the Year award by Liam Delap by only 36 votes.

Why would any player want to go to Besiktas?

RobsonWark, I can only think of one reason, and that's the lure of Istanbul. It certainly isn't because of the overall standing of the Turkish Premier League. which is someway below the quality level of the English Championship, take out Galatasary and Fenerbahce and it's even much worse, check out Opta's current top 30 club leagues in the world for conformation. A gap of about 14 places. I doubt he'd be earning a great deal more either. So, if it's not Istanbul, I don't know either.

What's in Istanbul, to write home about ?

Arnie.. have you been there? Suspect not from your post. If not, suggest you go take a look. It’s a vibrant city. That said I don’t know why Jens would want to go play his football there in a not very high quality league. Anyway hopefully MA can still bring Jens back here. Won’t be cheap though. When you think how much we paid for Jaden, Jack C et al, and how effective Jens was for us, he has to be worth £20m. Besitkas offering 8.5 is never gonna work.

I wonder who we are going to sign? Looks unlikely in will be Jens. Little over one month until the kick off. Lots of championship clubs have been busy buying players. Essential to bed them in early.

Istanbul is fantastic, well worth a visit But play your football there not so sure, Galatasaray,Fenerbahce and Besiktas are the big three and when they play each other it's wild but otherwise standard is poor and generally crowds are very low. If Palarse are out of the running, Portman Road is his home.

IMO we should buy him. The bid I believe is 8.5m so us bidding 10m would secure him. Maybe they would take Muric in part exchange lol I’m sure we can afford 10m who for me was a stand out player for us in the Prem, think what he can do in the Championship.

I am with you Paddy, I would buy him too. Plenty of time to get this done, people are talking about Championship clubs signing players, but PSR year ending 30 June and having spent heavily last year always meant our business would be July onwards, especially with money to spend. It's the combination of silly season in the papers and panic season with fans. MA always gets it done, we see this in every window.

He’s no longer our player is he? If he’d wanted to stay a deal would have been by now. He’s gone, move on.

Jas0999, stating facts seems to encourage some on here to put their little pinkies on the downward arrows.

I'm pretty sure he did want to stay. He liked it here and did seem to think he would be staying. Hence why he didn't leave a goodbye message. The problem was that Mark Ashton didn't offer them what they wanted for him. The loan we had was with an obligation to buy for £10m if we stayed up, but we didn't stay up. However, we did still want him and so, should have offered £10m, but I believe that Ashton offered less than that.
