Wrexham Make £7m Approach For Broadhead
Tuesday, 29th Jul 2025 19:23

Newly promoted Wrexham are reported to have made a £7 million approach for Blues forward Nathan Broadhead.

According to The Sun, the Blues haven’t actively been looking to sell the 27-year-old but aren’t ruling out allowing the Wales international to move on at the right price.

Rumours of Wrexham interest in Broadhead have been circulating all summer and TWTD understands there is something in the interest.

Last summer, Broadhead was close to returning to former loan club Sunderland on the same basis on deadline day but the Blues’ move to sign Reiss Nelson on loan from Arsenal broke down.

The Bangor-born attacker remained at Portman Road and was in and out of the side over the course of the Premier League season having been a key man in the back-to-back promotions following a £1.5 million move from Everton in January 2022.

Notably, the Broadhead has been left out of the squad for this evening’s game against Charlton Athletic at Colchester.

If the move goes through then Broadhead would become Wrexham’s biggest ever signing, beating the £5 million recently paid to Nottingham Forest for Lewis O’Brien.

The Red Dragons are also understood to be signing ex-Blues striker Kieffer Moore from Sheffield United for £4 million.

Deep down i would hope he stays as he is a top quality player, especially at championship level . However if we can push a deal through for closer to 10 million we would be crazy to turn it down. Its good money that can be reinvested in CM and up front.
I still believe H Clarke will also be sold or loaned out,as Johnson and Young will be our first choice right backs.

I would LOVE him to stay ss he definitely brings something else to our attacking options. At least 10 mil and then we can talk. I still believe and hope Cam Humphreys will finally step up this season. He's a delightful midfielder though lacking in the physical side.

I'd really like him to stay.
One of just a few players we have that can go past players AND get a shot away OR play in a teammate.
He, like Hurst, have been dissed in the media about how they failed in the Prem, only x goals and assists.....but they both spent large chunks of the season unfit.
Briadhead offers so much more than Jack Clrake

Whoops....
Last sentence should read 'Broadhead offers so much more than Jack Clarke, so pleased, don't sell!!'

I'm not saying whether I think he should go or stay, but look at it this way. If NB does end up at Wrexham for the quoted £7m fee, we bought him for £1.5m, so that would be a R.O.I. of 400%. Imagine if we'd made that on say, the sale of Delap! Unquestionably a really decent Championship player in a position we are not short in, but like all, has a price. It's just the way of the football world, and a lot of life itself, for that matter.

Pity the offer is not for the diminutive Chaplin who offers nothing physically - much rather keep Broadhead. who shows a lot of promise but question is can it be realised on a consistant basis

Can't see that Broadhead offers any more physically than Chaplin. Don't think he's a 90 minute player but technically good . McKenna sees him as a bench player and i normally tend to agree with him.
