Martin Pitcher, Marcus Evans's main man on the new Town board, was in the Blues party which stayed overnight in Blackpool ahead of Saturday's game. Pitcher has joined the club board and will be voted on to the board of the plc which owns 12.5% of Town at next Monday's AGM.

Town boss Jim Magilton has said that Burnley's £900,000 offer for Alan Lee is “acceptable”, according to one of Sunday's tabloids. Reports in the North-West on Friday claimed the fee had been agreed, while yesterday Town denied that any move was close.

Chairman David Sheepshanks has denied reports in the North-West yesterday which claimed that the Blues had agreed a fee of £900,000 with Burnley for striker Alan Lee. The Irish international has also said he wants to remain with Town.
