It seemed very badly publicised, first I knew of it was in the ground. The vote too in my view was not publicised well, I didn't know about it until it was closed, and I know several others who've said the same thing too |

It is not a good reflection of democracy if a party says one thing to get elected and then does something else entirely (they all do it of course)
Our democracy really is broken in that a sizeable chunk of the population vote against the party they don't want rather than the one that they do
I'm increasingly convinced that we need to go to PR, it means we can vote more positively, and it will be good for all the parties (even the tories) eventually as their fringes can split off and leave us with parties who can work together in a mature way. |

Just bought tickets (35 points), and it was weird
According to Phil we had an allocation of 2,022 tickets, yet when I joined the queue I was number 2,019, so thought I was toast, got to the front of the queue and there was plenty left, very strange ! |

It would take an almighty collapse
In the last 20 seasons, 75 points has been enough for top 6 in 17 seasons
In those three seasons (2014-15, 78 needed, 2016-17 80 needed, 2020/21 77 needed)
So 6 points from 11 games needed to be absolutely safe, which would be off the charts relegation form |

It's typical of the football authorities, they were pretty much the last major sport to go to video refereeing (cricket, tennis, rugby, NFL all do it), so they had so much experience of other sports to look at, and they created this monstrosity.
The single worst thing for me is that you see something and then you are wondering for the next few minutes, are they looking at it ?
For me, enable the captains / managers to ask for a review (two failed per half ?), it would be much more transparent then and they would be looking for a specific thing, not just anything. |

This still doesn't really address the issue of taking one for the team
As it stands it has to be a good thing to pull a player back and stop a breakaway attack at the cost of a free kick in a non-dangerous place and yellow card, allowing your team to get back into shape.
I don't see how a blue card changes this, teams are quite adept at defending with 10 men
Football focuses too much on punishing the offender rather than compensating the team that was fouled, contrast it with Rugby where you have a sliding scale (Scrum, free kick, penalty, penalty try) depending on severity of offence.
In football it is all about the geography of the pitch, so a serious foul outside the box gives the team a much lower likelihood of scoring than a ball being hammered at a defenders arm inside the box |

They never give the second yellow, so perhaps reverse the decision if they're time wasting ? Throw goes to the other team, goal kick becomes corner etc ? |

I think it was fair, before the redrawing there were a lot of very small constituencies (40,000 or so people - compared to the average 65-70k), particularly in South Wales. This unfairly favoured Labour and Plaid Cymru, so the redrawing will look good for the Tories, but is probably fair - still won't save them though ! |

There is a definite big club bias, look at Kieran Richardson and Wes Brown, England regulars at United, but never really good enough, move clubs and don't get picked again |
