 | News Comment | An Outstanding Football Coach at 19:15:55
Linkboy13..are you serious?? Lack of investment?? What do you call the years under Marcus Evans then? We are aiming for a category one acadamy, that is not a sign of lack of intent/investment. Wish Bryan Klug all the best, and he sure has developed a lot of talent at ITFC. But sometimes change is not so bad, for either part. |
 | News Comment | Assistant Keeper-Coach Martin Leaves Town at 13:29:52
We have a huge backroom staff now, which will mean more people will come and go. Some positions will probably be tweaked etc. I prefer this to when Evans, Clegg and Milne was the "backroom staff", and that was it. |
 | News Comment | Tuanzebe Set to Join Burnley at 17:33:34
THis might sound like sour grapes...occasionally a good player, but injury prone and not THAT great, as some fans make him out to be?! Good luck to him! |
 | News Comment | Norwich Target Long-Serving Town Academy Coach Klug at 08:49:21
While I appreciate everything he has done for the club, and I wish him something better than the scum, I do think change sometimes is good. As some other posters have indicated, it has been a while since the academy has been a force (of course there a exceptions like Woolfy and Humphries). The owners and the powers that be are not playing around anymore, they want results in every department of the club. Sentiment is gone from football, and that is, like it or not, gone for us as well. |
 | News Comment | Phillips: McKenna Made Me Believe in Myself Again at 08:04:01
He had a decent little spell in the middle of the season. Unfortunately for him — and for us — those niggling injury problems kept him out too often. It was a gamble that didn’t pay off. If we’re being honest, we probably wouldn’t have been able to recruit him if it hadn’t been a gamble. |
 | News Comment | Harrop: Looking Back, I Should Never Have Joined Ipswich at 10:13:46
My first thought when I read about Josh Harrop was "crap player," but after reading the article I feel like I’ve received a valuable reminder. There can be so many reasons why a player doesn’t succeed—so many things going on behind the scenes that we as supporters have no idea about. And in the end, the margins are actually quite small (injuries are often a contributing factor) between the footballers who go on to have successful careers and those who fall by the wayside. |
 | News Comment | Keane: We Knew It Would Have Been a Stretch to Sign Sol at 15:36:15
Keane was a strange appointment from the beginning. Didn´t understand the family feel at the club and tried to change everything that has made us "unique". As a manager he was probably one of the worst for us, but I must say that I enjoy him as a pundit. And I almost salute him for asking for a meeting with that fan at the car park, he seemed like a total bellend. It has been almost 15 years since he was sacked, we have come a long way in the last few years. Let´s move on. |
 | News Comment | Edmundson Fee and Personal Terms Agreed at 13:23:51
Agree with most posters. Good servant for the club and good luck at Boro, George. Now, I don´t mean this as a negative, but from what Greaves have shown this far I am not sure he is such an upgrade from servants like Edmundson and Burgess...? Time will tell (not saying I am giving up on him yet, in fairness he has been hit by injuries etc). |
 | News Comment | Morsy: Muric Has Become a Little Bit of a Scapegoat at 09:12:51
Yes, Muric has made mistakes, but as Morsy says he has also made some excellent sades. It was the right decision to give him a rest, but I dont like that a small portion of Town fans always seem to always be looking for scapegoats. |
 | News Comment | Former Boss Keane Rows With Fans at 14:30:40
I'm no fan of Roy Keane's stint as a manager at our beloved club—who is? But as a football pundit, I think he's pretty good from what I´ve seen, and he was there to do his job. I really don't understand fans who waste energy yelling at a former manager instead of just enjoying what an amazing performance our team delivered yesterday. |
 | News Comment | Chopra: I'd Had Enough of My Life at 13:02:05
Although I can agree that gambling can cause a lot of suffering to those who become addicted, there are gambling companies that are more serious. I doubt that serious gambling companies send out executioners to collect gambling debts. I don't know what a player at Ipswich earned during Chopra's time, but it was probably no small sum. It is scary that it was about such large amounts that a decent football salary could not pay back the debts. Finally, Chopra was a good player, but for obvious reasons perhaps not his best self during his time at Ipswich. Hope he has put all problems behind him and I wish him the best of luck! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Broja Discussions Ongoing at 11:44:49
Personally I would have moved on to another target, but I understand that it is not that simple. The type of profile and characters that McKenna is looking for might not be available, or out of our budget. I am amazed by our summer business, but if there is one small criticism, it´s that many deals have happened quite late, as Kieran himself has said. Players like Clarke, Phillips and Cajuste will give us a lift, for sure, but McKenna is a fan of integrating players slowly in to the mix, do we have the time to do that? |
 | News Comment | Town 'On Brink' of Agreeing Phillips Loan at 10:36:08
So, we are about to sign two international players, and some fans going on about them "not good enough"...seriously, what are some of those fans expectations? I don´t believe for a minute that players in their prime suddenly just "turn bad", it is about motivation, finding the right environment/club and confidence. If anyone can get the best out of a player, it is McKenna. If we can get a few more in I am certainly more confident of PL survival than I was a few days ago. COYB! |
 | News Comment | Town Closing In On Swedish International at 15:17:48
Would be great to have a swedish connection to ITFC again, and if McKenna wants him then that is enough for me. Still need more players in of course, but this is a start. |
 | News Comment | Town Target Philogene Completes Villa Return at 11:37:19
Good luck, i guess, but I struggle to appreciate players that have agreed a deal and then backs out of it. Maybe it was somewhat out of his hands, what do I know. Many players out there, same quality or better than Philogene, especially for 18m. Just not sure our scouting system abroad is really in place. Certainly feels like one area to improve. |
 | News Comment | Philogene Personal Terms Agreed But Villa Still Keen at 13:05:50
If Philogene has agreed a deal with us and wants to come here, I don´t see what would be Villas point with a bid... Of course Philogene could change his mind, but that would be very unprofessional. |
 | News Comment | Ahadme On Verge of Charlton Switch at 13:15:02
11 goals in 29 games, in a team in the lower half of the table, is a good goal tally. The market is really inflated as well. Still a good fee, if accurate. |
