 | News Comment | Brentford Make ÂŁ35m Bid But Fail to Meet Terms Ahead of Release Clause Deadline at 11:25:48
So turns out Omari is worth ÂŁ35m, at least, puts that argument to bed. Can't understand those saying we should take it. Money in the bank doesn't create and score goals and we're never gonna replace Omari with the same or better at this stage. Were better off keeping the best players we have to give us the best chance of promotion and a better crack at the Prem next time. Only sell players who want to leave/can't prevent leaving or are surplus to requirements or we can upgrade. Otherwise were weaker, no reason to weaken ourselves unless we are forced to. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-6 Manchester City - Match Report at 10:37:28
@blueboy1981 When we were in Div 1 you said we weren't good enough to be promoted. LOL. When we were in the Champ you said we weren't good enough to be promoted. LOL. Now were in the Premier League you're telling us its embarrassing and unacceptable that were not good enough to be in the Premier League... Tell that to Spurs or Chelsea or even the likes of Wolves and Leicester... I don't suppose it will occur to you what incoherent drivel you spout. We're a point from safety which suggests were on the cusp of being good enough to be in the Premier League and anyone with a basic grasp of the context over the last 4 years will understand that staying in this league as a newly promoted team after a meteoric rise would be an outstanding achievement. One or two hammerings to the big boys won't define our season. One point more than 3 other teams will. Keep the faith. COYB. Whatever, enjoy being angry, entitled, incoherent and missing the point entirely... |
 | News Comment | McKenna Bookies' Favourite For Brighton Job at 09:17:40
When we were promoted to the Champ, McKenna signed an improved contract with a ÂŁ4m release clause. Hopefully Ashton will get the same done again this summer, with a big Premier League salary bump and massive release clause. |
 | News Comment | McKenna Linked With Manchester United at 13:23:34
Does McKenna have a clause in his contract that allows him to speak to other clubs, do we think? I ask because the "I've shown loyalty to this club" implies that he's turned down not just an approach, but an offer (Palace?). Whereas ordinarily having a manager under contract would not entitle another club to speak to a manager, let alone make an offer that needed turning down by the manager, unless the club gave the manager permission to speak. And it would be odd for Ashton to have granted that out of courtesy alone... Also slightly concerning if McKenna went as far as hearing what they had to say... hopefully it was just fact finding to see what a middling Prem team thought he was worth... |
 | News Comment | Barnsley Spurn Chance to Close in On Blues After Defeat at Exeter at 08:29:20
The endless and nonsensical discussions about "form" and "easy fixtures" can end now surely? It will be a proper bun fight between the top 4 for those 2 auto spots. Looking forwards to it, great to be involved. There will be more mad results as teams fighting for survival or success will have a say in the outcome. Also there are a few rivalries and involved. All we can do is try to collect slightly more points than 2 of the other 3 teams. We've got as good a chance as any. Bring. It. On. |
 | News Comment | EFL Matches Postponed as Mark of Respect at 11:50:52
I've never understood the culture of mourning rather than celebrating a life. We've just spent 4 days celebrating her 70 years of service but we're now asked to spend 2 weeks mourning her life. Doesn't sit right. I think it should be all about celebration except for the funeral which is the dedicated mourning event. None of this really affects me, I wasn't going to the Cambridge game anyway. But I don't see how not playing a football match is respectful but tv still broadcasting entertainment is ok? |
 | News Comment | Town Closing in On Ahadme Signing at 11:06:08
If we do this deal we will have 3 players on 3 goals (top 5 equal) at this stage of the season. Plus Ladapo, KJ, JJ, Burns, Morsey and others chipping in… another creative player and we'd have an embarrassment of riches at this level. That alighted to KMs increasingly bedded in spirit and strategy and I'm more than confident we have enough to win this league. |
 | Blog Comment | McKenna's Marvellous Hybrid Formation at 22:50:47
Quality article. Basically matches my own understanding of McKennaball. Judging by the forum, my feeling is that there isn’t a great deal of tactical football knowledge amongst the fanbase. For example tonight Jackson was apparently rubbish because he didn’t score and we should stop playing out from the back because it’s risky. Jesus wept… McKenna is a contemporary tactican, bordering on the pioneer in some respects. We’re lucky to have him. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Cambridge United - Match Report at 18:48:52
Well at least we can put away those silly playoff calculators now! Put simply we've got the defence of Bayern and the attack of Basildon. There is a solid core but not enough responsibility, creativity or instinct. This season was over in October and we've paid for Cooks ineptitude but I'm really confident KMac will tinker with the squad over the summer and we'll come out of the blocks next season firing - and go up the PROPER way… COYB |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Cheltenham Town - Match Report at 23:03:24
Annoying result, wasted some real chances tonight. On the plus side we still haven't conceded in February, that's 5 clean sheets on the bounce now. It's a bit weird watching us, not feeling nervous! |
 | News Comment | MK Dons 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 18:08:00
We were tactically excellent today. Can see why KJ started and we were finding our wing backs and the number 10s all day. Apart from the Swine volley we were well in control - MK resorted to bringing on Wiliam and free kick farming in the 2nd half. We just lacked a bit of final ball quality. I honestly thought we deserved that one and I'm normally quite underwhelmed. That was a very good performance. Special mention to KMac for 6 clean sheets in 9 and would have been 7 if not for The Fridge's rick v Wednesday. That is superb organising. We are now officially hard to beat. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Definitely Not Our Best Performance at 09:28:12
It wasn't pretty but it got the job done. We're on a run of 57, one of the form teams in the league. For the 2nd time in 3 games McK has put out a weakened rotated team - and we've still won. Previous managers would never have achieved that. It's all very well some fans saying we should just play our best team all the time. They don't have to bear the consequences of fitness and spirit in the squad. |
 | News Comment | FA Release Written Reasons For Morsy Ban at 21:11:16
The whole thing is laughable. Difficult to make anything out but at the same time the strike to the face was clear. Pffff… And the “intent” was clear. How pray tell does one “see” intent? Prejudiced… Surely the player making contact with SM first was equally clear and intended? If not… Total kangaroo court. Best just move on. It's only cost us a point so far… |
 | News Comment | Morsy Banned For Four Matches at 19:21:07
Nothing to do but accept it now and go on and do the business without Morsy. Still don't see anything conclusive in that clip maybe the FA had another view?. Based on that alone I think it's quite likely that blatant Rivaldoesque cheating has been rewarded. |
 | News Comment | Morsy Charged By FA at 09:55:18
Chris Knights - I think you'll find that the principle of "innocent until proven guilty" is a lot older than you are and it's actually your views that are symptomatic of the modern day social media kangaroo court. Hypocrite indeed. |
 | News Comment | Morsy Charged By FA at 20:50:58
I think Morsy was just pushing the other guys hand off him and he's milked it to try to get Morsy carded. Morsy could have done that himself, but he's not the cheat here… would be nice if some fans could bring themselves to not find fault in whatever our players do… |
 | News Comment | Nsiala Set For Permanent Move to Fleetwood at 12:29:30
I thought Toto was ok in a 4 at the back at this level. Agricultural but more dependable than the "mistake-prone" reputation - our PPG with him in the side is actually above the average. That said, if KM wants to play 3 ball playing, stepping out CB's then he's definitely not right for that. No brainer to get rid with his contract nearly up. |
 | News Comment | Nsiala Set For Permanent Move to Fleetwood at 12:25:12
Bit short on cover at the back without Toto, playing 3 CBs? Burgess and the kids... I'd assume we'd be looking for at lead another CB on loan, if not permo. |
