Leicester, Leeds or Southampton could just as easily end up weaker by the end of the January window, should they receive an offer they can't refuse for Dewsbury-Hall, Summervile or Armstrong for instance. Doesn't matter how much money they've got burning a hole in their pockets, its not easy to attract a player to the Championship who is immediately as good/important for them. Same applies to us but I have a feeling our top players such as LD are wedded to the journey, at least for now... |

I’m “abroad” using International Subscription - no problem. |

Precisely. Although at least all those goals where a toe nail or a nose hair are in front of the defender would count... I prefer the benefit to go to the attacking team and at least this change would facilitate that. |

Your fix is to turn off a feature I use regularly because it doesn’t work properly? Thanks for your invaluable advice. |

Got a Town TV notification on my phone that we’d scored just before the free kick was taken on my TV - grrr |

Thanks, appreciate it. So... I read between the lines how you did that ;) Therefore that's an option, wherever I am watching from, potentially. I'm going to "test" the International Subscription in the UK on Saturday, if that works I might go that route as it saves the hassle of buying match passes each time, but otherwise, good to know your method probably works too. |
| Forum Reply | Town TV ... again at 14:25 8 Aug 2023
Can I ask, what country were you in (assume you were overseas as the game was on Sky... but then again you might not have Sky) or did you VPN from UK to somewhere like Italy where the game was not on TV? I understood the game was not available in the UK as it was on Sky... Issue I've got is that I travel internationally for work quite a bit, so let's say in a season I can watch 20 games live of which 10 I am in the UK and 10 are overseas. None of the subscriptions seems to work well for me. At this stage I'm thinking the best plan is to subscribe to the International Subscription from Aug - May (ÂŁ180) and when I am in UK or a country where its not available I'll just VPN to somewhere it is... think that'll work? Anyone know the email address for questions to ITFC about this... I need to carefully word some questions...! Cheers |

I've read loads of threads about predictions, so I'll put mine here: I'll be happy with anything above relegation for the first season back, as we establish ourselves in the Championship, but I genuinely think we can be up in the top 6 at least. Reasons to support the theory are: • I think we've struck gold with KM, he's the best young manager in the country, you have to factor in the fact he continually improves players and the team and we are going into the season with spirit, confidence and momentum. • Our performances and results were better against teams that play football and we'll enjoy a lot more of that this season. Looking at results such as Bolton, Barnsley, Derby and P'boro last season, away to teams fighting. They'd be good results for an upper Championship team. • I do believe our results against Millwall, Rotherham, Burnley, PNE and Luton in the last 12 months further point to the likelihood we can compete. • Honestly, if our current team played our team that was relegated in 18/19 we'd batter them, 6 points easily, we've got so much more cohesion, desire, dynamism and tactical shape than we had back then. • We've built a squad and developed playing style designed to compete in the Championship. That approach possibly made promotion harder (where perhaps a more agricultural style might have yielded quicker results) but it's now embedded and more sustainable going forwards. • The fact that other "footballing" sides have excelled in the league above once promoted shows that its possible and we're essentially following that blueprint. • We've got the ability to strengthen both in August and January - and I expect we will. • I'm not under the misapprehension that the Championship is EASY as the basis of my prediction. On the contrary, it's based on the feeling that we are GOOD enough to compete within that level of difficulty. So there we have it. It's all guesses at the end of the day. But it's certainly amusing to be told to "calm down" by the same fans that were saying we weren't good enough for the playoffs last season.... |

I'm currently in the UK... If I go to subscriptions only the ÂŁ5.99 "Domestic" option comes up (and match passes will be available bla bla bla). If a VPN in via Portugal, and go to subscriptions only the ÂŁ19.99 "International Subscription" comes up. This is seemingly rather good news... That is all. |

Yup I agree thats what we we've been told - per the news article on the ITFC website, ifollow Ipswich will no longer exist, no longer taking subscritions... But why then is the ITFC site still promoting ifollow and putting ifollow links beside each game in the new fixture list. Just seems a bit disjointed to me, not to mention late... |
| Forum Reply | Any News on Town TV??? at 16:45 26 Jun 2023
Is the switch to "Town TV" definitely happening this season? I'd say it's well overdue that the club puts out some information about this... Where is the marketing - I bet many ifollow subscribers don't even know a change is afoot and they don't want to leave it til the last minute to start activating the subscribers. The ITFC website is still all "ifollow" and the new fixture list published on Friday is full of ifollow links. I'm not convinced they're ready... |

Many amusing parts to Wendies late season implosion - not least of which is the fact they let P’boro into the playoffs on the last day of the season. Bhahaha! The cliche is the table doesn’t lie but I reckon it does. 96 points flattered the Banan-ball-boot it-long-flat-track-bullies. |

I'm expecting Quality rather than Quantity. Given we were recruiting "for the Championship" whilst in league 1 (to quote Ashton) it stands to reason we will be recruiting for the Premier League now we're in the Championship... On that basis I think the pedigree of any signings will be higher than what is generally mooted on here by those allegedly ITK. Last Jan people were suggesting the likes of Connor Wickham and Sam Smith, whereas we got Hirst and Broadhead. KMac targets are generally young, athletic, Premier League coached players (though I suspect the equivalent from Europe's top leagues would fit the profile too) - I doubt we'll be signing many "gems" from League 1. We need players to improve us instantly and be coachable from there. Hirst is a must, there is nobody else of his profile around. After that, I think 6 or 7 positions are upgradeable - its going to be a question of which deals come off. Our permanent business may well be complemented by a loan or 2 - but these would need to be the absolute cream of what is available from Premier League squads - and I think we'd have a strong chance given Super KM's growing reputation and the way we play would suit the big teams as a nursery for their young talent. Are we already subject to the Championship FFP rules or technically not until we’re off ion that league in August? Could be a “window” to spend? |

Was Neymar playing last night? The way you're describing Nors performance... Nors could not have scored the goal Hirst scored last night. Doesn't have the power and pace. But more than that, Hirst is integral to the way we play, pressing and stretching backlines and allowing out No 10s to exploit spaces. He is on another level entirely to what Nors is capable of. We would NOT be in the automatics with Nors rather than Hirst. That is why we have upgraded players. |

Having recently turned over the similarly home-formed Bolton and Derby 2-0 away, quietly confident we can get a result at P'boro. As others have said, it's suits us when the opposition comes out to play. Only caution is that P'boro are a bit more unpredictable, they spanked Argle 5-2 then lost 0-3 to Cheltenham. They've got fire power, I'm going for Town to win 3-2. That result comes off we'll be on the brink. |

Bit generous! There is a lot more to establishing a footballing philosophy than playing a couple of wingers occasionally. The article that inspired this conversation reminds us that even his spell at Wolves turned to porridge eventually. |
