| Forum Thread | Anyone here own a house in Kassiopi, Corfu? at 11:15 2 May 2019
Staying at a lovely house in north Corfu. Went into the study room yesterday and there’s 3 paintings of Lord’s cricket ground and a painting of Portman Road (painted since new North Stand was built) Can’t be that many town fans in the world. Thought maybe it might be one of you lot? |

Always such a tough 1. In my head he’s always been a bigger, more muscular Kiefer Sutherland. I suppose everyone had their own thoughts but that’s why Tom Cruise never worked I’ve always thought maybe Hugh Jackman |

I'm sure Hurst isn't earning the reported £1m MM was either So Dids (reported £12-15k / week) and Waggy (probably £10k/week) represents a £1.3m annual saving plus say £500k from MM and TC leaving I'm sure these new lads are being paid decent money but for instance you might get a Nolan and Nsiala plus a bit of Doncien for the weekly price of a David McGoldrick |
| Forum Reply | Waghorn turns down Boro at 13:31 6 Aug 2018
But, you'd assume, much more than his current wages. I'd really like to know if ME approached him about a new deal and wether the response was a) ME couldn't match it or b) Waggy was dead set on going to Derby to play under Lampard whatever happened |
| Forum Reply | Phil - should we expect a further Townsend bid? at 11:27 24 Jul 2018
Phil - if he wants another LB what does it more likely say for what Hurst thinks of our current squad: Seems to rate Kenlock so assume he stays? Wants to play Knudsen at CB? Doesn't rate Knudsen? He seems to play 4-4-2 so surely something has to give |

The cynical bit of me says Forrest are getting their business done early before they're placed under an embargo It'll be those 4 you mention plus Forest and would Bournemouth count as the other one? As they are being fined for when they were in the Champ and breached FFP. Leeds or possibly Brentford could be the other options |
| Forum Reply | Hurst to get the profits to spend at 13:13 28 Jun 2018
I'm sure Webster is earning £5-7k per week Lets not forget he now also has the £15k odd per week we were paying McGoldrick (£780k per year!). Good oppertunity to add to the squad with good hungry players on decent but slightly lower wages |
| Forum Reply | When did Hurst first get to look round Portman Road at 08:14 12 Jun 2018
Way, way before the Playoff Final. You don't just up sticks and move your young family half way across the country if you haven't: 1) Met your colleagues 2) Met your new boss (more than once!) 3) scoped out somehwere to live 4) Seen where you'll be working / what the facilities are It was nailed on from weeks and weeks ago - no doubt about that |
| Forum Reply | Jack Marriott at 12:39 24 May 2018
In January Cardiff paid £6m for Gary Madine Since then all bets are off when it comes to transfer fees. In today's market Marriott is worth at least Peterborough's valuation of him |
| Forum Reply | What is your worst experience meeting a town player? at 09:54 13 Apr 2018
Saw Titus Bramble and Marcus Bent in a bar in Cardinal Park once A former friend of mine, who's an imbecile, wandered up to Marcus and asked "are you Darren Bent". He got a bit cross. Titus bought us all a drink. Just remember Titus being built like a wardrobe! |
| Forum Reply | Another hat thrown in... at 09:25 6 Apr 2018
What's his style of football? I mean, that's the main criticism levelled at MM isn't it? So as good as working on a tight budget etc might be if the football is 'hoof it up to the big man up top' then what's the point? |
| Forum Reply | What sort of player are/were you? at 15:59 20 Mar 2018
I was a very David Beckham esque winger in the Sudbury Sunday League. I don't think I ever got dirty, never scored a header but did score a screamer or 2 over the years. Retired from football at 31 like Cantona. Went out in my prime |

He was there because he was the outlet on the right hand side. And give him his due - he won headers, caused problems and was quite often as far up the pitch as Waghorn and Garner Putting aside the awful dive and the fact that he seems to have been taught to tackle by running into a man and hoping he makes contact with the ball, he had a good game and tactically was the right choice to start over Spence in that particular game |
| Forum Reply | Running a half marathon... at 08:58 12 Feb 2018
I've done 2 London Marathons and i've learned the following: 1) Do enough training, otherwise it's absolutely awful 2) Get your name printed on your shirt it's great motivation and really keeps you going to have people encourage you by name 3) It's the only time i'd actively advocate taking sweets from strangers - people stand handing them out and they keep you going |
| Forum Reply | Mick's press conference (assuming he is there) at 09:07 9 Feb 2018
Mick McCarthy Press Conference Bingo 1) Burton are a good side 2) I don't know about my future, you'll have to speak to Marcus 3) I'm just concentrating on Burton 4) I haven't even spoken to Marcus so I don't know if Barnsley have been in contact 5) I've got a contract here until the end of the season and we'll see after that and so on and so forth.. |
| Forum Reply | Evra to Wet Spam at 11:12 7 Feb 2018
I don't like to be the cynical one but somebody has to be..... Yes West Ham need a LB as Masuaku is banned for spitting for 6 games. The experience that Evra brings will undoubtedly be invaluable to them Here the cynical bit - I know Evra is French but he was born in Senegal. After the furore last week regarding their head of recruitment (and rightly so I might add, what he said was not on at all). So yes they need a new Left Back but equally this is an exercise in P.R i think. I'm not sure how many games he'll play |

Agree - it's actually illegal on Twitter to have a different opinion to somebody else. It's not like the real world where people are allowed to have differing opinions, on there you're either 100% right or every swear word under the sun |
