Live Music
at 22:40 26 May 2020

Dunno about anyone else, but live music is far and away the biggest hole in my life at the moment. Feeling pretty bummed that I'm not likely to see another live gig this side of Christmas.

One of the first bands I'll be hoping see when we return to normal are Thee Oh Sees. Seen them 5 times I think, and they are one of the best live bands on the planet right now.

It's OK, they won't let everyone else off, which sort of compounds that Cummings was in the wrong!

Nothing online at the mo. I think they are keen to keep under wraps until it is properly launched. I'll drop you, footers and badger a dm when it is available.

Have we discussed part chimp before? In that kind if genre I guess.

As per my comment, the stuff out at the moment is more noise rock, but the album is a bit more polished (relatively speaking!) and has a bit more depth.

Imagine having a government so reluctant to protect its citizens that it took professional football to take the lead.

This is one of the reasons I grow veg at home. Of course I can't remotely grow enough to be self sufficient, but for the period I do have home grown veg the quality and taste is just miles better. Makes eating healthily so much easier.

All of this, pretty much.

The home cooking nice food is a key one in my opinion, doesn't even need to be that complicated, but nice food with good ingredients can be bloody tasty and (relatively) healthy.

I think it is important to allow yourself the occasional blowout though!

Also important burn calories too. I've lost a lot of calorie burning being stuck at home so have been getting out on my bike for a decent trek 2 or 3 times a week. Not just good for physical wellbeing but mental also, I feel 10 times better for doing it each time.

Cummings has confirmed that the media reports are correct. He has added to this by claiming to have driven with dubious eyesight.

But its the media's fault that people are unhappy with the situation?

Tories starting to splinter
at 09:32 24 May 2020

One observation over the last few years is that when the tories have an issue in the party they all pull together and hold the line, everything for the greater good etc. Whereas when Labour have an issue they tend to in fight and fragment, as seen over the last 5 years or so!

Does seem quite significant this morning that a few tory MPs are starting to snipe from the sidelines.

Cabinet Ministers all sending the same tweet out re: Cummings
at 15:59 23 May 2020

Even Julia Hartley Brewer is sticking the boot in on twitter today.

Imagine the tories doing something so bad that even JHB wades in, and yet the MPs are all still obediently trotting out the same p1ss weak explanations for why this is acceptable, and trying to claim that it is a politically motivated attack.

And this from Peston. It is utterly inexplicable how Cumming thought this was acceptable behaviour, probably less inexplicable that he assumed he'd get away with it.
