Yes but perhaps we thought someone would meet the clause fee so haven't accepted a smaller offer
once it expires though and it gets to the point where we realise hmm, no on is offering close to what we want, we will accept 30 ( example ) as it helps us to rebuild the midfield
I think the biggest thing is we have a very quick footed forward line. One of our weakest links last season and even at times in our promotion season ( When you think of the leeds games for example) our transition speed from the back to the front wasn't great and when you've got the likes of Clarke, Philogene, Ogbene, Burns, Hutch etc up the pitch you need your midfielders fully mobile to spray the ball around in different directions
I think clubs are currently careful at this moment in time what they spend out as an upfront lump payment compared to what they can pay over installments
Many times I've been told on this forum to trust KM.
Absolutely right.
I'm therfore quite puzzled by some of the comments about Morsy.
And In no way am I belittling anything he's done and don't wish this to come across that way
My point of this post is to trust KM that he believes morals leadership qualities are within the club without the man needing to be there.
The leadership group is well known We have a new skipper in oshea We have a new midfielder coming in who loves a battle
There's nothing to suggest we will not have the same leadership that morsy gave us.
Let's celebrate his time with us. But let's not see this as a negative move by the club.
The clubs evolving. The type of squad we are seeing put together is one that we've not seen at town for possibly 20 odd years. We are seeing signings made that only a few seasons ago would have been record transfer fees being spent and they're now just part and parcel of what we can do.
So thanks skip. Go off and enjoy one last pay check. Enjoy the football the life that goes with it.
For town and the likes of chappers. Oshea. Ogbene. Kipre, share your journeys with the rest of the squad and keep that leadership group well intact and let's go get that promotion.
Think after seeing phillips and morsy together we saw it didn't work having effectively two 6's together
With the new signing we've got fresh legs and effectively a morsy in his prime years.
We now need a partner and maybe one more who could do both jobs like a Holland was able to many years ago.
Morsy won't be forgotten any time soon. But there always comes a time when things have to change and we are at that cross road.
We've had the Evans era. We celebrated the sheeran era. Now it's the halo era which is turning a champ side into a prem ready side. Not a newly promoted league 1 side hoping to compete in the championship.
If we do win promotion this season. We couldn't have a summer next year rebuilding the squad for prem. It has to start now.
