Will it get any easier next season in the Championship?
at 10:07 26 Apr 2024

Nodge definitely run out of parachute payments this year I think WBA and Watford too.

No reason to think any of them will be stronger next year than this.

overall the financial imbalance will be less this year as, assuming its Blades, Burnley and Luton coming down, the relegated teams will only half 2 years of parachute to look forward to, and three other clubs will have run out of PPs entirely.

at 08:08 26 Apr 2024

Hedid, but he also pointed out that it's no different for us playng 3 games in the last 7days and that this was all a consequence of Coventry's cup run.

I thought Farke was quite reasonable, especially given the weighted nature of some of the questions.

What was that first interviewer on abaout 'some clubs put out videos as if they have alredy been promoted' ? i assume he meant leicester.

Greatest Teenage Sportsman Right Now; Littler or Gukesh?
at 09:24 25 Apr 2024

We need a new category for those elite competitive games of skill or technique but little to no physical element.

The idea that a darts player could be considered a great sportsman is ludicrous.

Now where would racing drivers fit in this new category? The actual 'sport' is mainly mastering the technique of driving the car, but the top level ones have to be fit to do it.

They've blown a sizeable points lead before, much to their fans angst.

I'd love it if they did it again, love it.

Leicester not selling out their ground tonight….
at 09:27 24 Apr 2024

Yeah, the official figure was just 400 short of a full sellout. Ours v Southampton was 250 or so short of a full sell out. We haven't reached full capacity once this season, even against Nodge we were a few tickets short. I suspect that this is a consequence of having all ticket matches. Probably there are late returns or the suchlike that just can't be sold in time.

This is why we don't get nice things, like a day of for St George's Day, because these sort of knobbers have to spoil it.

IF we don't go up... Which players do we see being wanted by bigger clubs?

It does seem like he's chasing a runaway ball a lot of the time. Mind you, that level of chaos sometimes throes the opposition into confusion.

Early example of a deepfake.

Improvements have been made, in later versions the maid is not a minger.

Bolton does need much of a renaming, just a little prefix

Those chances only apply if those two always win against everyone else. Which it turns out they dont. Since 2003/2004 Celtic and Rangers have met in the Scottish Cup 6 times, 3 times in the semi finals, once in the QF, once in the 5th round and once in the 3rd round. Every other time one or the other of them has been knocked out by one of the other teams, Rangers seem to make a habit of getting knocked out by Dundeed United.

That 20 year period is s bit skewed by Rangers being out of the top flight for 4 years as well, so starting in an earlier round of the Scottish Cup.

Anyone got any thoughts on VAR?

With VAR in the Championship, we'd be celebrating promotion already.

As much as I dislike Norwich and also want Sheff Weds to survive

Of the teams in the mix, Brum and Sheff W to go down would probably be the best result.

No issues with Hudds, Plymouth are alright, Brum's fans have a bit of a reputation, and Wednesday's fans have been a bunch of knobbers over the past couple of years.

Mind you Wednesday selling us Magilton still weighs heavily in their favour.

Why do you want Sheffield Wednesday to survive?

Not sure I care either way, but if pressed I'd be quite happy form them to go straight back down again given the antics of their coin throwing fans last year.

In the scottish cup the premisership teams only enter in round 4, that's 3 rounds before the semi-finals.

By my rather dodgy maths, assuming they both win every game, there is just short of a 25% chance that they will meet before the semi final and about 57.5% chance that they will meet in one of rounds before the final.

Or to look at it the other way round, 75% chance they won't meet before the semis, 42.5% chance they won't meet before the finals.

Proper mathematicians will probably tear me apart.
