Eastville 1978
at 22:48 11 Dec 2020

Is there an Ipswich Town FC history buff who could resolve an argument and enlighten us with the attendance at Eastville Stadium for the famous 5th round FA Cup tie against Bristol Rovers on the snow in our glorious cup winning run in 1978?
I do recall the result was 2-2 and you can see the goals on youtube. We won the replay 3-0 at Portman Road.

itfc poppy badge on ebay
at 10:44 27 Oct 2020

I tried to buy the £4.99 2020 ITFC poppy badge this morning from the British Legion site, only to see it is unavailable. It is, however, for sale on ebay at £8.99.
No doubt some profiteering low life has bought loads and is actually trying to exploit the Remembrance of our war dead to line his own pockets. Sickening.

Permenant Injury Crisis
at 08:35 4 Oct 2020

Our injury crisis is permenant, it seems. We have been dogged by serious injuries for the last 3 seasons or more.
Every game there is another casualty and yesterday there were 2. Indeed we were down to 10 men for a long spell. It's quite common for the injured players roster to be in double figures. Even after 6 months rest and recuperation due to the virus some have not even returned fit and healthy. This is so frustrating and depressing for the fans and it seems as if this situation is unique to our club. .
Marcus Evans needs to review and overhaul the sports science, conditioning and physio departments up at Playford Road because they seem incapable of doing a decent job.

injured players
at 14:44 30 Apr 2020

It occurs to me that the long lay off, possibly until January 2021 should allow our injured players, and especially the frequently injured players to rest up and make full recoveries.
Vincent-Young and El Mizouni come into the first category.
Huws, Bishop, Keane, Lankester, Norwood and, arguably, Morris and Folami come into the second category.
With the training ground and Portman Road closed you wonder how much treatment they are receiving but they may well have mini gyms in their garages to aid recovery. Or they are just recuperating. According to the Telegraph today Fortuna Dusseldorf deep cleaned and supplied gym equipment to all their players.

Josh Earl

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this before but we are a much better side with Josh Earl in the team. He had an excellent game on Saturday and I would be delighted if we signed him. Not sure if that's a possibility or not?

Windfall sell on fees
at 10:44 5 Aug 2019

I used to get really excited when we received a large sell on fee for one of our ex players. It was like an unexpected windfall, a lottery win, a bonanza. An unexpected bonus if you like. There have been a few of those this summer and we will receive a lot more than I expected , however if we hadn't sold them in the first place we would have received even higher sums. Webster in particular.
My point is that I can't really get excited now at all because we know the money will not be invested in new players at all, so where is the benefit or advantage for the manager, team and fans?

The "exciting news"
at 08:53 9 Apr 2019

My real hope is that PL has persuaded ME to top up his investment in the Academy and gain Category 1 status. Now the yellow peril from up the road are moving aggressively into Suffolk and will soon have 4 training centres in Ipswich alone (Kesgrave High School the latest) we have to react. We can't just sit back and allow this without fighting back!
Us fans should support the Academy as much as we can. The club needs us more than ever. I already support the Blues Foundation and I pledge to sponsor the Academy and/or an academy player if Marcus can achieve Cat.1
A "Karl Fuller" type campaign is required here to back the Academy/Club next season. Will you pledge to back the Academy?
