Let's hope the club gets it right with a huge order for the home shirts so we don't run out in August. Ed Sheeran's sponsorship is terrific news. Last Friday I was enthused by the Youth Team winning their quarter final tie and the ongoing transformation of the club by the new owners is cheering too. It seems strange to have a feel good factor after such an abysmal season but hopefully this is the TURNING POINT after 13-14 years of sad decline.
Just google that to see what the Midlands paper was saying about Lambert in 2015. Also see Jacqui Oatley's tweet the other day about Lambert's failure at Wolves. No doubt the Blackburn and Stoke media said much the same. It's a litany of failure since he left Carrot Road, so why on earth would this guy be paid half a million pounds a year to fail here? Why on earth was he "rewarded" with a five year contract? It's just unfathomable! He conned much of the fanbase and he cleary conned Evans too.
So who or what is responsible for the woes of Ipswich Town according to Paul Lambert?? Is it Evans? He implies it is and then back tracks. Is it Sheepshanks? Brian Klug? The tea ladies? Some mysterious Dark Force?? Come out with and tell us Paul! It's all very vague and wishy washy. Classic diversionary tactics of course, trying to avoid responsibility for the current catastrophe of a season. After all, he did play for CELTIC and DORTMUND!WOW! WE HAVE ALL LEARNED SOMETHING NEW. What the hell is his playing career got to do with it?
Under the very difficult current circumstances we find ourselves in what Jackson did tonight was reckless in the extreme, after just 10 minutes. What an idiot. Get rid of him. Always injured and mostly useless. Another Paul Hurst master stroke.
So Jim Magilton gets us up to 8th/9th in the Championship and WINS A LOCAL DERBY (the last time?) and Paul Lambert takes us to 9th in League One (probably lower if he stays). One full division lower or 24 places in the football pyramid of 92 clubs. Lambert does nothing to arrest our slide into the third tier for the first time in 60 years. Which one gets sacked? Why Jim Magilton of course. I see. Actually I don't.
Is there an Ipswich Town FC history buff who could resolve an argument and enlighten us with the attendance at Eastville Stadium for the famous 5th round FA Cup tie against Bristol Rovers on the snow in our glorious cup winning run in 1978? I do recall the result was 2-2 and you can see the goals on youtube. We won the replay 3-0 at Portman Road.
