Well, now everyone can see why a number of us on here weren't convinced. First decent team and we've got slaughtered.

We knew this was likely to be our first defeat tonight

First game against actual promotion challengers and we are struggling, although we have struggled before but didn't concede.

First bit of real adversity so far this season, lets see how we react. Warning signs have been there that we might come unstuck against the better teams though.

Mad to think KVY wouldn’t get in the side atm, maybe as a left back!

As so many of you are rattled by my opinions
at 12:02 18 Oct 2020

If you only focus on the negative aspects of every player then you would say we are a team full of non league players.

Does Edwards contribute goals and assists? (He did in the Championship btw and still not from his best position). Is he a composed finisher for a winger? Does he get into good positions, especially coming in at the back post? Does he provide good defensive cover from wide positions? etc.

Obviously he has flaws, he wouldn't be with us if he didn't, but he offers a genuine threat for us. Do you think he should be dropped?

The rest of your post are concerns I also share, but I don't think you can drop either Nsiala or Wilson given they have played well and only conceded 2. Regardless of if you think it has potential to improve the team, it would send the wrong message.

Schedule over the next few weeks
at 10:10 16 Oct 2020

While 10 points isn't too bad, if those were the exact results I would be a little concerned that our complete lack of ability to beat any half decent team still remains.

I think at least one win is needed from Donny, Lincoln or Sunderland.

The banter era continues!

So he's been alright for 3/4 months? Even when he was in form he was still missing opportunities left right and centre. If you break his 11 goals down, didn't he score something like 3 pens and 2 against Bolton's kids? So 6 goals from open play against actual League 1 opposition. He's been a massive flop.

Credit to Lambert/the club

When you have a bit of momentum going then it makes perfect sense, especially with the fixture pile up that is due to happen this season.

Just proves how ridiculous it was to constantly postpone games last season because we would be without Judge. Looks like Lambo/the club have learned a lesson which is a good sign and hopefully applies to other mistakes from last year also.

Kenlock
at 18:28 10 Oct 2020

A lot of his appearances over the past year or so have come with 0 protection in front of him which was what worried me today about the line up but was glad to see Edwards on the left.

I think he is fine as a back up LB in this league but I'm still hoping Ward comes back pretty sharpish.

Kenlock bout to get rinsed with Judge in front of him, unless it's Edwards on the left.

Great finish
at 21:18 6 Oct 2020

And exactly how many players do we have who are consistent throughout a whole game?
He's a flair player for a team in the third division, of course he's going to have ups and downs.

He's made 3 appearances for us, how on earth can you say he's not consistent?

One bad performance
at 00:03 4 Oct 2020

Because performances give a good indication of how good a team you are and where you will finish at the end of the season. People said the same last season and oh look, we ended up 11th because we weren't very good despite being around the top of the league for much of the season.

If we sh!thouse our way to promotion despite playing poorly then great, but that's generally not how you get up.

One bad performance
at 20:06 3 Oct 2020

It's not the outcome of the game that is worrying, it's again the performance.

People have learned absolutely nothing from last year, again making judgements only based on league table and result. I don't think we've played particularly great in the first 3 games against average to poor opposition and today we got outplayed by a team likely to be battling against relegation. On top of that we have an ever growing injury list, I don't think it's unreasonable to have concerns about us.

Highest paid manager in the league
at 17:39 3 Oct 2020

“ The survey, filled in by 18 Championship outfits and 15 in the third tier, also shows that one League One manager at a ‘southern club’ is trousering £550,000 a year – it seems highly likely that boss is Paul Lambert.

That wage is almost £400,000 more than the average manager’s wage in the third tier of £182,438.”

Not the confirmed highest but I’d be surprised if he isn’t.

Incredibly poor from Town
at 16:59 3 Oct 2020

A good point in the end.

Bit worrying we've not even had to wait to face a decent team before getting completely outplayed this year! Players dropping like flies too, we've got our Ipswich back.

That'll be Ward out.....

Hopefully doesn't ask Norwood or KVY for advice.

If we lose him for any long period of time then we are stuffed, would need to bring another LB in immediately.

So that's the bottom two teams in the league....
at 18:36 26 Sep 2020

Good start to the season, lets us build some momentum up and get some players returning from injury before we play some of the better teams and fixtures start to pile up.

Still concerned about our strikers, while Hawkins done very well he's had a few chances already that he should have buried. Not sure how sustainable it will be to rely on our CMs and wide players to provide the goals for a whole season. I'm sure his overall play will give him some confidence though and hopefully Norwood can gain a bit of fitness in the meantime.

Sounds like we turned it up when the subs came on which is promising. Still concerned about Norwood's apparent lack of fitness, could be a bit of a weak area for us for a few weeks.

Harder tests to come but can't complain at the points we've got.
