Purely speculation based on not a lot, but he’s supposedly available for a decent fee (not signing a new deal at Sheff Utd where contract ending soon) Boro and Burnley named as interested parties, but expect there will be others (possibly us?) I seem to recall his name mentioned a couple of seasons ago as a player we were interested in.. though not sure how genuine that interest was His record since then hasn’t been spectacular, but good age, pedigree and physical profile with point to prove |
 | Forum Reply | Has Maddison just done a John Terry? at 13:55 22 May 2025
Kulesevski was in full kit with his leg in a brace. Pretty sure it’s UEFA who are enforcing this. Maddison has played enough matches in this years competition to warrant a winners medal |
 | Forum Reply | How many points should we have? at 21:27 16 May 2025
The Fulham away fixture feels like a real ‘sliding doors’ moment in my mind. Jack Clarke puts that effort in the bottom corner rather than against the foot of the post we get back to back wins and (from memory) move up to 16th. Instead we concede late penalty and draw. Pretty sure we had a pretty awful run of results immediately after that. Felt like we could have built some momentum |
 | Forum Reply | Is that four players now who’ve scored in at 22:34 2 Apr 2025
I recall earlier in the season a stat that only 10 players had scored goals in all four professional English divisions.. and that 4 had completed the set by scoring a goal for Ipswich in the Prem this season. That was Smodz, Taylor, Morsy, Chaplin. Not sure if there has been any since |
 | Forum Reply | Cajuste at 07:39 30 Mar 2025
The midfield is genuinely a concern next season. Morsy, Luongo, Taylor and Humphrey’s are the only players contracted for next season and Morsy & Luongo will be moving into twilight of their careers and Humphrey’s isn’t really tested at that level.. in fact Taylor wasn’t a regular in our promotion campaign. I can see us spending money on that area and would expect us to show some interest in Ben Sheaf again. Not sure on his contractual situation and obviously if Coventry go up that poo poos that, but would be a natural successor to Luongo or Morsy in my opinion |
 | Forum Reply | Anybody think Delap will stay next season? (n/t) at 09:33 15 Mar 2025
I expect he will want to go (assuming we’re relegated) and will be gone It’s a World Cup year and he’s put himself very much in the conversation of getting a call up. Only Kane, Watkins and Solanke realistically ahead of him for the centre forward role. If it was this summer and there are any injuries or drop of form for those 3 then he’s on the plane. He won’t want to miss that opportunity |
 | Forum Reply | It is our signings that have at 09:28 15 Mar 2025
I sort of agree with a couple of those, particularly O’Shea as I didn’t think we needed him(especially for that money) but you have to say is he better than Edmundson as Wolf has still played and Edmundson left to allow the squad place, so the answer is yes Greaves is a top player, we can have 2 top players for that role as Burgess hasn’t ever really let us down. Clarke & Phil O’Jean are players bought for the future, not the here and now. I do think (and thought at the time) we’ve overspent on those players, particularly O’Shea & Muric mainly because I’m not accustomed to Ipswich spending any money but the sad reality is that is probably the going rate. Muric has been the standout failure, but there are redeeming factors and long term potential on pretty much every other signing |
 | Forum Reply | I would nick Sainz and Sargent at 09:05 15 Mar 2025
Sargent will be playing in the Prem next season or moving onto a decent European league. That is if he can keep fit between now and the summer. Good age, good pedigree and they spent close to £10m for him 4 years ago. He’ll be moving on to bigger places than we’ll be next season. As for any of their other players, I think we could find (and afford) better players in the football league than go knocking on their door for anyone |
 | Forum Reply | BBC saying the worse three clubs in Premiership history.... at 10:20 10 Mar 2025
I’ve thought for some time that there could be a new rule implemented: Any side that gets relegated with less than 25 points should be ineligible to gain promotion back to the Premier League the following season. My basis was to stop the likes of Naarwich, Burnley, West Brom, Sheff Utd yo yoing up and down and offering almost nothing when in the Prem, but I think there’s a strong possibility none of the bottom three get close to that points tally. |
 | Forum Thread | McKenna at 14:37 4 Dec 2024
Has and forever will have my upmost trust and faith. One thing that I’ve always said sets him apart is his balance between his ‘principles’ and his ‘ability to adapt’ as he’s continually made minor changes to patterns, shapes etc. over past couple of seasons to keep us competitive, whilst still playing largely the same way with the same philosophy. That said, a lot of matches this season we’ve made subs that are ‘like for like’ in terms of positions and we don’t ever really look to go far from the 4231 when we’re at home and ‘having a go’ (this could be down to personnel) I do wonder if or when (if ever) McKenna may look to transition into some other systems. We’ve seen Johnson & Tuanzebe utilised effectively to give us options for 5 at the back out of possession, so there are tweets that have and can be made to the 4231 to make us competitive for specific opponents and threats I’m not advocating the ‘2 up top’ mantra but I do wonder if McK will have a shuffle and possibly use our wide players wider or put 3 in midfield at some point |
 | Forum Reply | Wes Burns at 08:02 3 Nov 2024
I would say that he certainly still offers something in terms of going forward. The pace he has will make him a useful option… That said I feel like he has been found wanting more than most in terms of defensive ability and I can think of a few times he’s been at fault for not tracking his man or failing to deal with it in and around own box. So far his offensive abilities have been far outweighed by his defensive mistakes |
 | Forum Reply | Chris Kaba verdict at 20:30 21 Oct 2024
I would also add a minor counter to the ‘unarmed’ angle. Having unfortunately seen a lot of people being seriously injured or fatally injured by vehicles in my line of work, I would add that a vehicle, in this case a high powered and heavy vehicle, could very much be seen as a potentially lethal weapon when driven in a manner that could cause such injury. That said, it is a tragic situation and I’ve seen some of the footage (officer body worn footage) has been released, which is obviously not going to be pleasant for friends & family of the deceased |
 | Forum Reply | Chris Kaba verdict at 19:24 21 Oct 2024
I’ve not followed the trial, but I know there were ‘independent eye witnesses’ mentioned at time of the incident.. plus dash cam footage and bodyworn video. But like I said I’ve not followed the trial so if these have been ‘discounted’ or not included then I don’t know. I’ll give it a read later on |

Grant Leadbitter would be one of the CMs in the division in this system (in his prime) I’d also throw Jon Stead into the mix, was inconsistent but always put a shift in |
 | Forum Reply | Sarmiento/Left Wing at 20:31 24 Jul 2024
Isn’t there an agreement in place that we can sign him for another season loan after we got promoted? The initial loan had a clause for a further season loan triggered if we won promotion, was my understanding of it… Think if we want him we get first dibs of a loan move. Not sure on the legality of it all if BHA want to keep him around or get a loan offer elsewhere but thought there was something formal in place |
 | Forum Reply | Nothing on the manchester airport thing yet? at 19:15 24 Jul 2024
Each airport will have individual contracts with their local police force.. and nationally there is a specific target hours minimum at airports, but no airport has a dedicated armed policing presence 24/7 they will be officers station at their headquarters that routinely attend on rotations to hit specified hours What Each airport will have, is a dedicated ‘unarmed’ policing team which are part paid for by the airport. Basically a neighbourhood policing role but solely for the grounds of the airport including the terminal(s) working closely with the airport and its security These ‘unarmed’ officers are generally the officers that will attend incidents and make the arrests when there is a notified inbound passenger flagged by immigration or other agencies etc. |
 | Forum Reply | Nothing on the manchester airport thing yet? at 17:47 24 Jul 2024
Not been able to watch the video. Only found a 10 second clip online. My usual response is that videos posted online give little context of the situation in real time, but from what I’ve seen I’m not sure how that falls into the any of the categories for use of force and understandably lots of questions to be asked. In response to some of the earlier points, some forces (potentially GMP) have bodyworn that can be live linked back to force control. Also with a few officers there and CCTV there will be officer and commercial footage of the incident, not a chance of this not being covered by all angles. The fact that armed response were sent indicated that the suspect was a high risk offender otherwise they wouldn’t distract firearms officers from applying oil to their biceps and eating their crayons for nothing. I would be interested to know what this guy was wanted for I imagine longer clips are/will be available and perhaps might be in the better interests of GMP to actually share it rather than the usual policies from forces to write vague responses and not let footage be widely seen along with detailed information * I know I’ll be pulled up for anything I write re policing so I’m going to reiterate from what I’ve seen there is nothing that would justify the kick followed by the stomp… But more information and footage will be available in time which may well incriminate the officers further |
 | Forum Reply | Still not beaten a team at the top of their game at 22:15 14 Jul 2024
Germany are a powerhouse.. even in their average years they go deep in tournaments and that was a good enough team that year for Southgate (and England) to be given some respect The win against Croatia is overlooked because they are t a powerhouse, but they had some stellar players in Modric, Rakitic etc. I do feel this narrative is so embedded that Southgate would have to transport his team back in time and beat 1970s Brazil for people to accept his achievements. We are an effective tournament team, something we’ve always been envious of the likes of Germany & Italy |
 | Forum Reply | Brilliant Southgate another semi final at 20:07 6 Jul 2024
I don’t get this narrative. By virtue of being in semi finals and finals we’ve had to play some ‘good’ teams. You can’t be dreadful to make it that deep into knockout tournaments. Ultimately you can only beat who is in front of you .. and the history books will remember where we finished rather than how we played. It seems that Southgate’s results will only be validated if we can somehow transport back in time and best 1970’s Brazil |
