Soccer Special panel is a classic tonight
at 18:18 17 Apr 2024

I really struggle with Clinton Morrison.. He just seems like he isn’t very good at talking. It’s like when you notice something and can’t unsee it so I’m sure he’s not alone, but I’m perhaps more at atuned to

Other day I heard him rattling through his sentence at 100mph and instead of saying “if you’re good enough you’re old enough” he came out with “when you’re young enough, that’s good” which to my ears on my way to work sounded a little pervy.

Tuanzebe must be wondering what he has to do to get a game. (n/t)
at 15:00 10 Feb 2024

I keep reading and hearing about Tuanzebe’s class and pedigree and that once he gets in he’ll command his spot for the rest of the season.

Whilst he’s had some good games, he’s hardly pulled up any trees.. and he’s hardly got a wealth of experience, without looking I’d expect he’s played less first team minutes throughout his career than any of our other senior centre backs.

Good player, but he’s not the messiah that some are so keen to claim he will be.

Anyone want a wager they do/don't get anyone on a plane to Rwanda?
at 11:19 6 Feb 2024

In 2023 there were 4 successful asylum applications from Rwandan nationals.

Yet the Government states that Rwanda is “safe”

In regards to numbers sent to Rwanda the net number is already in negative as more have come to the UK than we’ll ever fly over there.

If it wasn’t such a serious and tragic situation you’d have to laugh at how incompetent this government are.

Last 8 Form Table

Not a chance we don’t make the playoffs. Guaranteed even at this point

We have 59 points with 17 games still to play.

Last season 69 points was enough for 6th.. over the past Decade the average is 74 points to finish 6th

We need to show catastrophic relegation form to not reach 70+ points

In fact I’d say with quite a bit of confidence that we will get 80+ points in not hit that magical number of 90.. but like last season this will probably be a freak season which breaks records for points tallies for sides finishing 3rd and 4th

Pretty sure he was selling off loads of his old match worn shirts and worn swapped shirts a few months back.

Not a chance as he’s playing and scoring..

He’d also cost a bloody fortune in loan fee & wages etc.

Forest are in need of offloading some players though given the recent FFP findings and they’ve said they’ll take it seriously and they have a big squad so I expect there will be a few departures in January, but I’ve no idea who, if anyone on their books would be a realistic option. They let Emmanuel Dennis go on loan to Watford recently

Freemans Common would be my suggestion

Close to the allocated away pub as well ‘The local Hero’

Leicester Roll Call…
at 22:19 21 Jan 2024

I’m hoping for a better outcome than the last time I went there and we lost 6-0 and Bradley Orr put in possibly the worst performance I’d ever seen in a town shirt..

Think it was Mick’s 2nd game in charge and Vardy had only just started making the team for them.. in fact didn’t they Harry Kane on loan

Leicester - recs for decent restaurants, pubs etc. pls
at 19:01 19 Jan 2024

Monday night so not sure what you want in terms of boozers etc but I would recommend ‘Lane 7’ for a decent all round food & drink.

But if you fancy a proper sit down meal then ‘Peters Pizza’ does some belting Pizza or something remotely sophisticated then anywhere in St Martins Square would be my suggestion (good food & drink)

https://www.stmartinssquare.uk/

I’d avoid any of the boozers between there & the ground though as they’re full of creatures at the best of times, let alone when footballs on.

Has a very good goal scoring record.. also a fair few assists in there as well. The only stumbling block being it’s not a big sample size and we’re perhaps looking at something a little more predictably ‘ready’ for championship football

Scoring goals in Holland & Scotland’s top tiers is a big plus for his age, but I would imagine we might see him as a bit more of a risk than others on our list. That said I’m certainly not against the idea as he looks to have a lot of potential. But the fact we’ve actively tried to bring in Gallagher & Moore shows we’re prioritising experience at the moment

Fairly certain he was recalled due to a few injuries they were racking up.. that plus Son going off to the Asia Cup so they were looking quite thin in terms of attacking options.

He’s highly thought of there (evidenced by him getting some minutes this season) so I would imagine they perhaps wanted to have him around in case he’s needed. That said they’ve just signed Werner so that may push him down the pecking order, but I’d imagine he’ll stay at Spurs and get some matches on the bench for the 1st team between now and May

Odd to call out Fraser as one of the worst signings of the recent past.

He hardly played and we sold him FOR A PROFIT the very next window….

Stylistically both he and Piggott were odd given the system we were religiously playing as neither really fitted into any of the positions of Cooks 4231 or the style of play..

Like every ground parking isn’t great for match days.. I’d probably suggest some street parking near Freemans common which is a short walk, but likely to get caught up in some post match traffic on Aylestone Road. Failing that there are plenty of small car parks near the royal infirmary but you’ll get caught in post match traffic on Narborough Road..

That said, Monday nights shouldn’t be as bad as Saturday 3pm kicks offs so I’d probably plump for the former and travel Aylestone Road into the city, that way you have Odeon & Morrisons you could park at near to the allocated away club boozer (which is also close to Freemans common) so that might be your best bet for cheap/free options

Rhian Brewster would be a very interesting one. He’s been poor/injured most of his time there but is clearly a very talented player, he probably moved too soon for too much in Sheff Utds case… £25m based on a short stint in Swansea & his performances in England U17s success aside he’s never lived up to his hype.

If Sheff Utd are looking to loan him out then I would think he would be near the top of our lis based on his potential.. he’s probably in need of a decent spell in the Championship

I would not want JCH anywhere near this town squad.

He has the footballing ability, that’s not my issue. I’ve heard more than enough about his character to question whether he’d be a good fit in this group. I’ve also heard he still hangs around in some of the circles who used to run in when he was getting himself in trouble so I don’t think it’s worth the risk.

Seems odd as well that he’s likely to leave Peterborough this window but the only side he’s been properly linked with was Bristol Rovers, that in itself rings alarm bells that Posh are seemingly happy to let him leave
