Sone Aluko appreciation thread

What a master on the ball he is, great feet, great to watch, exciting, agile, has scored a few from midfield and some assists as well. Looks like the type of player we’ve needed for about 7 years..let’s just take a moment to appreciate Sone Aluko and how good he is, IMO a strong player of the season contender.

Basically! But without being so radical, i don’t wish harm on the chap. I am sure he has a role to play but he seemed a little uninspiring from what I heard. I don’t mean to spread negativity and this is purely my humble opinion, just being honest and figured it couldn’t just be me that felt it on Saturday.

As has been mentioned if you can’t get the crowd going for such a momentous occasion after we’ve all been away for so long then what will it be like in the middle of November when we’ve lost a couple of games on the bounce (let’s hope it doesn’t but realistically it’l happen at some point)

How about teaming him up with someone a bit fresher sounding, who can do segments of the build up and also appeal a bit more to the youngsters? Or something along those lines..

That’l be why it reminded me of Radio Suffolk then!! Happy to give him a chance but he just doesn’t strike me as the type to be able to gee up the crowd and get the place jumping, big shoes to fill of course and we’ve all got so used to Rob Chandler over the years but it just feels like much more of the same when we could have freshened it up with someone with a little more energy.

Anyone else concerned at all with the vibe coming from the new stadium announcer?? For me he just sounded like he was 79 year old Fred commentating over the tannoy live from the Westleton barrel fair!! Luckily the sound didn’t really work too well where I sit in SBR but the snippets I did catch seemed highly unlikely to get people off their seats.

Lots of awkward links and just didn’t seem to come very naturally. I mean no harm or intend to disrespect anyone but IMO he seemed a bit out of touch. For me this was the perfect time to freshen this part of the match day experience up, we need someone young fresh and exciting to appeal to the younger fans, bring some energy in and bring the club up to a modern day match experience, listening to him reminded me of tuning into Radio Suffolk, it’s a little outdated and not quite up to speed, although a good swathe of fans really like it, unfortunately it’s not moving with the times. Is their anyone on here that can share this opinion with those that matter at the club with a chance of sorting this out before we have to endure a whole season of it??

17k-18k for Saturday seems disappointing....

Or a drivers license / debit / credit card / any other form of I.D??…seems a pretty reasonable request to me! If having to bring one of these in the order to gain entry to watch a team you supposedly support (after 18 odd months away) is too much hassle then I’d suggest they are the type of moaning negative boring ‘supporters’ we would probably rather stay away anyway! No matter how ‘many’ there are! Get over yourselves and get out and support the club! (Ps completely understand those with Covid worries and shielding issues but for the vast majority there is no reason to keep away anymore) COYB.
