From a selfish perspective, that's a perfect sleeve sponsor considering my 10 week old son is called Teddy! His name was also inspired from the last line of the EEJB chant (my favourite chant) 'but everybody calls me Ted' so very much got Ipswich roots fully engrained into his life from the off! |

They're great fun though aren't they - we got a 4 month old red fox Labrador called Fern back in October 2022 and I've always grown up with family dogs and had a rescue dog of my own, but he was 3 when I got him so never had a puppy to train from scratch. I often say to my wife how it's the best money we've ever spent and she's a genuine joy, we love her to bits and treat her as our child basically. All I would say is, I remember getting frustrated with her training and set backs in her routine, but kept telling myself that she'd get there eventually, she's 3 years old on 13th June and she's cracked it now and is like having a little best mate who's actually excited to see me everyday... what I imagined my wife would be basically haha! Their age is a huge factor in their behaviour, and while you still need to be ultra strict with them to enforce the routine & rules, they mature into it. I'm sure you already know all this but just a reminder it does get easier and it's well worth the effort because in many cases, dogs are miles better than humans!! |

S5 ST holder here, have been for 13 years – I’m fully behind what BA as anything that helps improve atmosphere is a bonus, especially the displays, however there are a few things I just don’t quite get when it comes to BA. First off, I’ve never understood the wanting to command S5 thing – I get they want to be central behind the goal, but the reality is that there are alot of people in there who sing already (myself included) who would be hoofed out for basically not being part of BA. No group should take priority over seating over anyone else, but I’m sure BA are accepting of this hence the move to Block A. The move just doesn’t seem to have worked & if we’re looking at it in a simplistic way, they’ve moved out of the NSL, taken a load of singers with them meaning the vocal supporters are now split across and even wider area and into another stand, because there are still lots of singers in S4 & S5. I do understand their gripe with people in the NSL who don’t sing, trust me, it irks me too as I don’t see the point being in there unless you add to the atmosphere, but splitting away from the NSL doesn’t feel like the answer as, lets be honest, the Cobbold will never be the home to a singing section, it’s just not suitable for it at all – it will always be NSL and so it should be. The only time I could see that changing is after a Cobbold redevelopment and even then, that will be for more corporate/posher seats than the ‘rowdy lot’. I just feel BA moving away has split us all apart when we all need to be in the NSL together somehow – I’m not sure how that is possible, but letting them command S5 just because it’s a ‘group’ isn’t the answer. Maybe the club could hold back non-renewal seats in S5/S6 and then BA get first dibs on them so over time, they filter back in? I’m not sure – I hope they find a way but atm, it feels like a huge chunk of voal fans have moved out of the natural singing heart of PR which is a bad thing. |
 | Forum Reply | Disgraceful performance? at 12:00 19 May 2025
I was one yesterday who labelled it our worst performance of the season - in hindsight, I was probably frustrated and OTT, but I do stand by it being a poor performance but overall, just in the key moments. We had 20 shots and got 2 on target, that is poor. The way we defended the breakaway after Clarke lost the ball, that was poor. Leicester were awful and we really should have beaten them yesterday, however KM can't account for individuals spurring chances like we did. I do think frustration levels were very high after FT yesterday, they should have calmed today thankfully, but it doesn;t hide that our results against Saints & Leicester have been frustratingly poor this season, albeit the performances have been better than last season. |

Hi mate - logged in just to reply to this. Life can be a f***er and affect us in ways we would never imagine, and things you don't think would affect you can hit you the hardest. The only bit of advice I can give is you're not defined by this, you'll be defined by how you learn from it. The other main thing is what you've already done which is to reach out and talk about it - I get that it's a difficult situation but anyone you can talk to about it, do, you'll feel miles better for it. As a new Dad myself, one thing I will say is that although you might not have been prepared or even wanted it to happen, even as men, having a child is simply amazing and changes you as a person from the first minute they're here, so it's no surprise that such a potentially huge life changing moment has hit you hard. You'll get there mate, got to talk about it, try and process it in your own ways and learn from it all, it's all you can do. |

Can fully appreciate that - think I'm going to enjoy the early years when they can't back chat. I've got nieces and nephews who are nearly into double figures and I'm sure I was, but I never remember being that argumentative at that age! |

Thanks mate, I'm 5 days in and enjoying it so far - as others have saud, I'm sure it gets tougher the bigger/more mobile they become! |

I'm all good mate, been a while! I'm still in my same ol seat at PR, but since I used to frequent here quite a bit, I've moved to Beccles, bought a house, got married & just had our first child on Saturday just gone. Hope you're keeping well mate? |

"Yes, we should be behind the goal in the North Lower, because that's proper and was the preferred option from both the club and the survey we put out. But neither the club nor the existing NL st holders were willing to go through the ballache of making that happen. So A Block it was..." Why SHOULD you be in S5 out of interest? I get what you're trying to say regarding acoustics and spreading songs, it would be the optimal position, but as someone in S5 and I have been for 12 years now, there are alot of noisemakers in that section already, myself included, along with S4 & S6 - surely rather than create another section and divide the noise to another stand with frankly awful acoustics, it's better to be in amongst everyone in the North Lower as it has been for decades? |

Very sad news – I had the pleasure of going to football in the car from Woodbridge with Paul for a year or two along with a family friend, and he was an incredibly positive man when it come to all things ITFC, even during some really dark times under MM and Evans. He had a great knowledge of ITFC history and very interesting to listen to as a younger fan myself. Very sad news, but I’m so glad he got to see us back in the top flight on the back of back-to-back promotions before he passed, I’m sure that’s how we all wish to go one day... knowing ITFC has been left in a good way. RIP Paul/PJH, once a Blue, always a Blue. |

Fully accept all of that and have absolutely no issue with BA (I actually massively support what they’re trying to achieve) other than a few popping up on Twitter taking swipes at NSL which is massively counterproductive and, like you say, creates a divide whereas both sections should be bouncing off each other and spreading the noise. It’s difficult because S5 would be ideal but like you say, people can’t be expected to move to accommodate BA unfortunately – it’s just not fair and any suggestion of it should be shot down. Fully accept the point about some stand there with their arms folded – I personally try to join in with as much and as many songs as possible as do quite a few others around me, but there are also some that just stand, arms folded, and don’t get involved at all. That said, they have a right to be there as much as me. Seems like the most sensible and best solution is to get NSL and BA as one, however it seems to be the hardest possible outcome to achieve which is why it’s a shame they’ve moved to Block A, but also can see why that move had to happen for the good of BA. |

In what way is that close minded? I agree that S5 is the best place for BA because it's central to the main singing section, but why should people already in S5 move to accommodate them, when alot of those people sing already? What makes BA more important or better singers than those in the North Lower already? The reality is, they never should have moved from S6 and them getting back in the NL is very slim. |

Been a while mate, I'm more of a silent viewer these days - I post my fair share on Twitter but do still dip in and out of here just to read what people are saying! |
 | Forum Reply | Blue Action - are you ready? at 10:08 17 Jan 2024
I would guess that's not true - just been on to get my seat in S5 bang in the middle and there are loads of seats available in S5, they're not blocked out so would assume BA have been told to go for tickets just like everyone else. It certainly would be unfair if BA were given priority over tickets in a high demand area just because they're part of a group who feel entitled to pick where they go. I think the way they've done it is completely fair. |

Oh I fully agree mate, been there through all of it, standing in freezing temperatures watching us lose while not having a shot on goal... But I wouldn't change that for anything because, as you say, the good times are so much sweeter when we've experienced the hard times. It still feels slightly surreal when you see the league table and all the stats surrounding us at the moment - it finally feels like the club we all dreamed would return, has returned! |
 | Forum Thread | What a time to be supporting this club at 16:24 20 Sep 2023
Haven’t posted on here for a while but felt like I wanted to again just to highlight how enjoyable it is being a Town fan again. As we all know, it’s been a long slog watching Town over the past 13years with very limited amounts of ‘good’ moments sprinkled in there – whether it be the false dawns of Keane and Jewell, Lambert’s awful tenure, Mick’s shocking football towards the end, the short lived ‘Hirst era’ or just the complete lack of care or know-how by Evans, it was becoming increasingly depressing supporting Town and it also seemed never ending. I used to look at other clubs who have climbed the leagues or were just much more modern or better run than us and wished it was us. I look at everything now, and I imagine that other clubs are looking at us and wishing they were doing how we’re doing it, and to even suggest that still seems completely bonkers after the hard decade we’ve endured. I can’t really think of any negatives around the club at the moment, we just seem like a relentless, forward moving machine that is doing it the right way, with the right players, the right staff and of course, the right manager. For the Town fans of my age or younger (30 and under), we’ve not really had alot to shout about – I saw the Burley days but at 6/7 years old, you can’t fully appreciate it at that age, but I really feel like not only is McKenna and exceptional coach/manager at his young age of 37, but I feel like we’re witnessing the start of a phenomenal coaching career and feel privileged to be part of it. I have no doubt that K McK is going to be a TOP manager, he’s got everything needed to achieve it, and it just feels like a complete privilege to watch him manage, to watch his team and to watch the club moving forward with him at the helm. The squad of players we have at the moment are fantastic too – some Ipswich lads in there always helps, but they all just seem completely united, focused on the task at hand, level headed and driven. No more big-time charlies or problem players constantly getting injured, but just a great group of players who want to give 100% every week and strive. What more can you want as a Town fan? That’s all I’ve ever asked for. It really feels like a special club moving in the right direction at the moment – we’ve had a fantastic start beyond anyone’s expectations (I’d of been happy with 10 points at this stage!) and they’re not scrappy wins which we didn’t deserve, they’re assured, confident wins achieved through on-point game management. I still have that horrible feeling in the back of my head that it’ll all come crashing down, that’s been ingrained into me over the past 13/15years, but I’ll be honest, it’s starting to fade and I really think that finally, after alot of years of hurt, we’re finally the club that I dreamed we would be once again, the one I fell in love with in the late 90’s/early 2000’s, and long may it continue. Up the Town! |

Agree completely mate, I'm going tonight too and really looking forward to it - he's not everyone's cup of tea but always been a big fan of his stuff. Comedy is subjective, so some people will think he's sh*t and not worth it, others will love it. |
