Too many on here are like smack addicts for transfers… they just need their fix of a player/s signing. No club is going to be successful long term just getting “bodies in the building” I would rather we sign the right players than just cater to those who think Football Manager and real life are the same thing. Ashton has done very well on the whole and I trust his judgement having spent a life in the football world rather than people who’s experience amounts to watched games and read some nonsense and now feel they are experts. None of you and I include me in this have any clue what goes on behind the scenes and how these things really work. |

Why loan a 19 year old? I can’t believe people are asking this… how old was Omari? If we loan a 19 year old we don’t have to count them in the squad and can ease them in as and when they get what is required. If we wanted to buy Miley Newcastle would want £30m and we would take all the risk of him not progressing. Please think about what your actual point is before being certain about it. |

People forget that McKenna had 6 months with most of the league one squad to get them working how he wanted. Most of the championship squad had worked with him for more than a year. The amount of changes last summer and the amount we will probably end up with this summer as first teamstarters means and have to be patient. Omari took several months to be a regular starter. This is why players like Davis are so crucial |

Greaves comments were pretty much along the lines of “once I heard the managers plans”, “Once I saw the training ground” “concentrate on the next game” “work hard on the training ground”. I assume he will be in the squad for Sunday given he’s had a proper pre-season and scored a few goals. Perhaps he isn’t the only player on his way in before the saints game and all the moaners can be quiet. Let’s hope Omari works out that given teams are kicking the doors down to take him back to the prem, some good performances for us against Birmingham and Bromley, might have sparked more teams desire to cough up £40m. He can help us and himself by getting his head down and putting some great performances in between now and the deadline like Mr Hackney has for boro. |

Nothing negative to say. The fact I’ve not seen him is irrelevant as it’s not my job to scout players. I suspect we e had a good look and like what we see. Ali hasn’t progressed for whatever reason and if we can get a decent fee that, along with the Boadhead cash and the £15m we were happy to spend on Hackney means we have scope for at least a couple more significant signings. If we get £40m for Omari I expect we’ll go big on his replacement as well. |
