Tuanzebe: Memorable Two Years, Thank You
at 20:37:50

The reaction on here is so depressing. The level of vitriol and hate because a professional footballer who is from the North West and has spent a fraction of his career with us is taking up an offer from another club, in the same shameful way some of us have moved jobs, failing to dedicate our lives to one employer. He isn’t an Ipswich fan.. he was a player the club employed.

I’m sorry to echo some of the thoughts on here… it’s a trend in society that’s not for the best.

Besiktas Targeting Cajuste

This is the worst kind of speculation. “players we aren’t going to sign”. It’s annoying when we are linked to signing every player with a pulse but at least it’s kind of positive.

Tuanzebe Set to Join Burnley
at 18:20:51

It’s a loss but Clarke and Johnson are more than good enough for us at this level so no need to panic. Whatever we offered clearly wasn’t what Burnley offered though as I suspect he must know there is a fair chance he’ll be passing us the other way next season.

O'Shea Signs New Deal

Good news but more than that, reading between the lines it seems McK isn’t thinking of being anywhere else. Plenty of “we” and “we’re” in his comments regarding the future of Dara.

Town Women and U21s to Play at Colchester
at 12:53:09

Portman Road is too big btw. For the one off games we get 10,000.. do they really want to play in a ground that is barely 10% full? As has been mentioned the big clubs don’t play their home games at the mens stadiums. I’m a big fan of the womens team and want the womens game to keep growing but it’s not at the point where a 30,000 capacity stadium is needed for the likes of Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea’s ladies teams and they are winning leagues and competing in Europe. Just be glad the team is progressing to the point they need better than a non league standard ground.

I can’t understand the negative comments. Col U is ideal and a big upgrade. Other than the costs of using Portman Road, the over usage of the PR pitch and the constant rescheduling of Sunday games for the ladies and the fact the club will have a lot more information and have thought about and considered all aspects of the issue… we should of course be listening to people who just want to moan about things they don’t understand.

Tuanzebe Linked With Trabzonspor
at 14:05:16

Would be a big blow in my opinion if we lost Axel. I know he has a bit of an injury history but he’s premier league quality, good enough to play at a team in the top half. I trust we have targets to replace any of the squad if they left but we picked up axel only because he’d had a long term injury and others were worried about committing. I’m also assuming his relationship with McKenna was crucial. We need to push the boat out to keep him.

Blues Linked With Burnley Midfielder Brownhill
at 16:42:04

Virginblue.. The championship is a higher level than swedens top flight and I’m sure players from that league will make the squad. You could argue it’s a better standard than scotlands top flight, Belgium and Holland. Ok, those league have two or three teams in them that you’d consider big clubs but as a whole the level is better. How many French top flight teams wouldnt be in a championship promotion fight? If he’s playing well and regularly for us it’s better than most situations he’s likely to be offered. If he goes to one of the top European leagues there is more chance he’d be warming the bench.

Blues Linked With Burnley Midfielder Brownhill
at 14:50:14

I’m shocked that someone who had that good a season has been allowed to get this close to the end of his contract by Burnley. You’d have thought they’d have tied him down long before now. Unless he’s asking silly money of course but I doubt he is otherwise we wouldn’t be keeping an eye on the situation. There is no way we don’t at least know what ballpark his demands are in given he’s been free to chat or more to the point his agent has been free to chat openly to any club on the planet since January. The only thing I would say is that I don’t see him as an upgrade on what we had this season in terms of Cajuste and Phillips. I know Phillips didn’t tear it up for us but he’s better than This lad.

Burgess Joins Swansea
at 15:46:54

I’m not surprised he’s gone but surprised where. Greaves didn’t have a great season but despite this he’s clearly a good player we see as a long term investment and Burgess would know the plan would be for him to be back up. He’d have been relying on injury, suspension, a bit of rotation or loss of form to make appearances. There are far far lesser CB’s in the championship who are nailed on starters. Would selfishly have liked for him to stay but can only wish him all the best.

Brentford Linked With McKenna Move Should Frank Depart For Spurs
at 14:38:26

Nottsblue66 It depends on how you define bigger club. I doubt if Brentford could be compared in terms of fan base. Let’s be honest both teams fill their stadium but we don’t have a17,000 capacity and if it were 40,000 we’d probably have filled that this season despite being relegated. Historically you can’t compare Brentford to us success wise and our ownership has significantly more financial muscle than Brentford’s owner. Our ceiling is higher. Brentford are a “bigger club” in the sense they’ve been safely a prem team for a handful of seasons. I can’t think of anything else they have over us and I don’t know that it makes them bigger. Btw. I’m a Bulwell boy originally

Premier League Trio Linked With O'Shea
at 20:31:02

I’m not saying I don’t think he’s be a good player to keep but for the right money I’d sell. I honestly don’t think he stood out enough for me to think if we went back up we wouldn’t need an upgrade on him to have a chance of staying up. If we can make a good profit and can persuade Tuanzebe to stay if settle for him on the right side of defence.
