2023 was a wonderful year.
I would like to thank Keiron McKenna, ALL the players and Gamechanger for providing us with a game changing experience.
I lived through Bobby's time and can state that neither '78 (when we actually did not play well, except at the end). Nor '81 (when we were playing well but we expected that. So much so that only winning the UEFA Cup was a bit of a disappointment after narrowly missing out on League and FA Cup), gave us the lift that this last year has.
A fabulous time. Epitomised by the compliment played to us in the last game where our essentially Div 1 team were playing a recent Premier League club who finished the last 20 minutes of the game, at home, with 5 across the back and 4 other blokes immediately in front of them to keep us out.
Well done indeed all concerned.

I've just been looking at the Norwich first goal.
When the ball is kicked their bloke is a yard offside.
Then it comes across and he does an over head kick nearly taking Harry Clarke out dangerously,.
Then he completes the job on Clarke by bringing him down.
Then as he is getting up he handles the ball to control it.
4 offences in about 10 seconds. Impressive. Where was the Ref ? |

Following the offensive chanting by Luton supporters about Hillsborough against Liverpool, Norwich have banned the singing of "On the Ball City". This on the grounds that it offends those supporters who can remember when City had a football team. |

As we were getting off the train at Lowstuff on Saturday the announcer said "Mind the Gap". An old boy next to me said "Thet ent us that needs to mind the gap. Iss they owd Naaridge".

I saw John O'Rourke score 12 in 12 matches at the end of the 67-8 season. I remember Peter (Diesel) Morris hitting a ball from the centre circle that still seemed to be rising as it went in off the underside of the bar. I was behind Big Kev as he shot from the halfway line. I saw Trevor Whymark score four (None with his head).Osbourne 1-0 of course. I was there and lost my glasses in the leaping up and down. I saw Alan Brazil get five and then, instead of taking his 6th, pass to Mich D'Avray who missed. We all remember Jim Magilton's 3rd against Bolton in the playoffs when he drove through a ruck of players to equalise in the 94th minute. I danced with the bloke next to me. I did n't know who he was. But what did that matter ? Conor Chaplin's goal against Exeter, from a distance, where I was behind the kick and watched it in, ranks up with the others. For the reason all the rest came from a long term successful team. We were expecting a win and we had Bobby. Since then we have endured mediocrity at best and much worse. But Conor's goal raised us up and made us believe again. And now we have Kieran. |

I would like to suggest the buying of blue and white outside lights. I am not saying they are to be bought. I am just thinking people should bear it in mind. Just in case of a certain eventuality at the end of the month.I continue to touch wood. It would be nice to turn the county blue. |
