Came on here after seeing this vid. As a male in my mid 20s who attended Saturday by themselves I actually (in hindsight foolishly) felt safe enough to openly have my Town shirt on show both before and after the game, unlike most away matches. For balance, the multiple home fans I interacted with were very friendly and had a 15 min post game chat with a Wed supporting middle-aged male at the tram stop regarding both our clubs.
Did witness one young presumably Town fan, between the away end and the Lep Lane tram stop, get right in a middle aged Wed supporting male’s face shouting something like ‘youu bluuuesss’ multiple times until he got throttled. At which point I waved over 2 policemen who attempted to de-escalate things. As others have said, sufficiently more officers should have been present to deter conflicts, idiots provoking such reactions and those seeking out fights, rather than just 2 in one of the most key areas.
Haven’t seen this mentioned yet: although I don’t have the game, it’s still nice to see Leif nominated as a Fifa 23 Community Team of the Season player to vote for and being recognised for his consistency this season, with the only other English league defenders across all 4 divisions being Robertson and Ake.
Still haven’t seen it mentioned on here that @samueldwilliams, which seems to be the twitter account of ITFC Head of Recruitment, has retweeted a ITK tweet saying that we are making a signing today… make of that what you will. Prove me wrong if you wish, might just be a person with the same name followed by Mark Detmer. Either way something is seemingly imminent.
The amount of abuse Cook and the players got today from those around me was ridiculous, constant calls for 442 and berating our players all game. “FORRWAARRRDDD YOU IDIOTS!!!”. Today we just had to be patient against a decent Fleetwood side, who sat back, kept their shape and had impressive passing too- both completion and speed.
Really feel we are starting to bring everything together now and that having a consistent system and personnel is benefitting us. The next few games will, one way or another, show where we are at as a team. Will be exciting thats for sure.
Also, anyone who uses their phone torch on a 3pm Saturday game when it’s light outside needs to give their head a wobble.
It’s not a random drug, it has been proven to be somewhat effective at prevention and reducing symptoms by a range of medical journal articles and has been included in a Oxford University trial on Covid treatments. Sure, it needs further research, as Oxford Uni and others are doing, but signs are promising. If it is proven to be effective, it could be game changing, as you can make a whole batch for a couple pounds, where as the current treatment in the USA costs patients $1000s per dose, which is criminal.
Judging from other people posting and past seasons, I would suggest some people make a larger effort to make the first game of the season. Heard quite a few travel 6/7 hours to get there for the first game, others coming from abroad, as the American owners had planned. Others might have took holiday from work. Additionally, the first game may have attracted some more casual fans to come along/new fans who just pick and choose their games, so would have picked the first game of the season over today.
I have never been so entertained watching football, which makes it all the more frustrating how we only have 2 points. First win will come vs Wimbledon, we will blow them away.
Totally the opposite where I was, clearly the quietest period of the game by a long long way, more people booing than clapping, most people standing there in silence.
No, it’s not that, he has done well to improve since, just theres a huge difference between playing in a relegated Ipswich on loan and starting for Chelsea in the Prem over world class cbs. I thought he would have a good career and would improve as he aged, but not enough to start games for Chelsea.
Unbelievable. Sure he started in the Super Cup, but never thought he would start in the league. I understand he was young when he was on loan with us, but would genuinely put him in the worst 5 players to wear a Ipswich shirt in the last 10 years.
