I hope you're right, but the way he was strolling about half on the beach today made me think the opposite. His worst performance for us for some time, no urgency to his play whatsoever. |

If today is about anything, it should be about Massimo. I'm desperate for a win, the Chelsea game being the only one I've missed at Portman Road this season (you couldn't make it up), but thanking Massimo for his incredible contribution transcends that for me. What an absolute warrior he was for us over those two promotion seasons. It's easy to underestimate how important his contribution has been to our success. Of course we'll make a fuss about Delap, but if anyone deserves a proper north stand send off it's Massimo. |

While I don't disagree, for me we don't have a PL standard goalkeeper at the club and I doubt we're going to attract one in the championship. |
 | Forum Reply | Muric - Persevere or Not at 22:55 5 May 2025
Muric has the potential to be the best keeper at the club, but Palmer has been far more consistent. I don't buy the argument that we picked up more points with Muric in goal therefore he's the better keeper, we did that in spite of the points he cost us as we were playing much better as a team. Palmer has outperformed Muric. Despite his potential, I don't think we can risk persevering with Muric as No1. If we can't shift him, make him 3rd choice and wait a year, see if that makes him more amenable to a move or mutual termination. If we go straight back up we should then be looking for someone a cut above both of them anyway. |

The stench of desperation in that thread is beautiful to behold. Their complete lack of perspective on us is going to make next season all the sweeter, if they genuinely believe the absolute nonsense they're posting. I can't wait. |
 | Forum Reply | Davis a possible target at 22:13 23 Apr 2025
For me he should be playing where Jack Clarke is, with a fullback e.g. Townsend behind him. Seems a no brainer. Johnson and Tuanzebe have worked well that way on the other side. Maybe we'd actually have some midfield presence then and not get shat on from a great height in the middle third game after game. |

There was a moment second half where an arsenal player had a fistful of the back of Hirst's shirt in the box, to the point of it being stretched out a good 4 or 5 inches, clear as day. We got nowt for it. Of course that won't be mentioned on MOTD, endlessly debated on twitter etc. |

Have you read what I've written? Re-read my OP. At no point have I attempted to debate whether it was a deserved red. If you were arguing with someone as to whether it should be red or yellow, a misleading still like that after the contact, which makes it look like the challenge is worse than it actually was, would support your argument. He caught him on the heel on the back of his boot. What's so difficult to grasp? |

No it doesn't. Again, that's after the contact. Look at Davis. Look at his body position, he's off balance and falling. Compare it to the shot I posted of the moment of contact. It's a 2d shot which makes it hard to judge depth etc. It's misleading. The two players aren't touching in that image, Davis is behind him. It was posted by someone arguing that it was a deserved red and they chose that image as it appears to support their argument and makes the challenge look worse than it was. |

Even more telling is Davis' position in that shot. That's not the point of contact, it's clearly after and Davis is totally off balance. Whoever posted that deliberately chose that shot as it makes it look worse, presumably with the agenda of arguing it was a deserved red. |

I think that screenshot is misleading, that's after the contact. Having watched it in motion numerous times, I stand by the statement that Leif's boot only makes contact with the back of Saka's. We're probably splitting hairs and I don't doubt he felt the contact. But I also think Arsenal knew what they were doing to influence the officials. Saka came off because the crowd got in his head and he was fluffing relatively easy chances. He's not injured. |

Saka's reaction and subsequent evidence of not actually being harmed in any way just shows what we already knew, when it comes to the dark arts which seem to be an unfortunate necessity in this division, we are a long long way behind. Saka deserved the reaction he got from our fans and it also seemed to affect him as he then missed two sitters infront of the north stand. Those Town fans repeating the narrative that it was a horror stamp on his calf and we should be ashamed of giving him pelters after, are part of the problem for me. Be on the inside p!ssing out folks. |
