An away match on top of an unnecessary replay
at 22:21 12 Nov 2019

Totally agree Blue Moses. I am afraid I am slowly losing faith with Lamberts strategy in cup games and looks like I am not the only one. I am sick of us being unsuccessful in cup competitions and the disrespect the Manager has shown to the fans who would dearly love some success in whatever cup competition. Lose at Lincoln which we will if the same strategy is adhered to and then get an away draw at the likes of Peterborough in the EFL trophy then fans will become even more angry with the Manager. Over 2700 of our fans made the effort to support the team tonight. Its a pity the Manager did not show them the same enthusiasm with his team selection. Its 90+ minutes of football Lambert which is hardly going to damage the fitness levels of our players especially when our next league match is on 23rd November. I have said my piece but am so disappointed tonight.

I'm knackered......
at 16:19 6 Nov 2019

I too got home at 3.15 a.m. We parked near the ground and what a mistake that was. It was gridlocked every turning we took. The mystery tour then commenced as apparently entry to M62 was closed so we ended up going through Huddersfield to join the M1. Then had signs telling us that junctions 31 to 35 on the A14 closed so had to go via Cambridge to get back on track. Thank heavens we won.

Who is going to Rochdale Tuesday?
at 20:25 3 Nov 2019

Already here in nice hotel next to Broadfield Park. More Town fans expected according to receptionist. Half and hour walk to ground again according to receptionist. Never been to ground although visited the Town when we played Bury many moons ago.

Fleetwood away will be our toughest game of the season to date
at 12:45 1 Oct 2019

I agree that this will be our toughest match so far. Although Sunderland are supposed to be a big hitter I thought they were poor and we should have buried them. Peterborough did look useful as did Doncaster and even AFC Wimbledon were a tough nut to crack. The depth in standard of Division One has surprised me and Fleetwood will I am sure be a difficult game for us. Off to Blackpool tomorrow for a few days and hope the Fleetwood result will not spoil the break.

Las Palmas away Programme 1977
at 18:46 16 Sep 2019

Was sold for £176 today on e bay. Looks a good deal to me when other posters on here recently were stating figures of £300 up to £600.

A pal of mine in Stowmarket has every ITFC competitive match programme home and away since 1958/9 but just cannot get the Las Palmas away programme when we were in Europe. A Couple of years back it went for £112 on e bay.

PL has said he sees Donacien as a Centre Back...
at 17:09 30 Jul 2019

I think we desperately need a decent experienced centre back as for me Donacien is definitely not the answer. We are all set up in most areas but centre of defence is a worry with what we have. I have no concerns about Woolfenden but need a good established partner with him who could be a permanent fixture. Time is running out. As for dealing with Burton - I say do not under estimate them as they are real footballing side with lots of attacking ambition. Only my opinion but the back 4 AlexGreen mentions will do well to keep out Burton but I hope he is right in saying we can deal with them.

What's your Town starting XI for Burton next week?
at 12:56 28 Jul 2019

It baffles me that so many of you are selecting Donacien who in my opinion is not good enough. The safest option for me at right back would be Skuse as do not rate Emmanuel either. The defence as it stands does not look solid and fear Burton are a team that will take advantage of that - just hope I am wrong. Hoping Lambert will sign a well established centre back this week to play alongside Woolfie. I know there are critics of Chambers on here but we could have done with him next Saturday that's for sure. All about opinions which I respect. Time will tell as they say.

Judge wants out
at 22:09 23 Jul 2019

To be honest Judge was not that brilliant last season. He showed his potential at times and will be a loss to the squad but what do you do with an unsettled player. Just hope we don't sell him for peanuts - he is under contract here so place at least a million pound fee or even more on his head as that will put QPR off I'm sure with their limited resources. He has used Ipswich Town as a stepping stone to revive his career and this is how he repays us.

Alan Judge.

Well said Elder Grizzly Jas0999 almost always has a negative spin on Marcus Evans. Last season Jas stated he had finished and he was off. Alas he has returned to give us more negative comments on this board. I know we all have opinions but some keep banging the drum and playing the same old tunes with Jas being a typical example. I am not saying Evans is perfect but heaven help us if he jumps ship. Sorry Jas I used to really enjoy your posts but this anti Evans scenario is just tiresome.

Anyone have any tips for a family weekend in Liverpool?
at 17:30 16 Jul 2019

Fantastic city to visit. Had only been to Goodison and Anfield before so decided to have a few days up there. Stayed at the Campanile Hotel in the Dock Area which was cheap and cheerful but more than adequate and had a car park and a McDonalds directly opposite the hotel. There is tons to do including walking the Dock Area where there is a ferris wheel.
Take the Mersey Ferry which has to be done. You can go to the top of the Radio City Tower where there are spectacular views of the City and beyond and can see Anfield and Goodison in the distance. There are 2 cathedrals and the Anglican Cathedral which if you are lucky has a lift access to the top of the Tower. The Roman Catholic Cathedral is worth a visit for its uniqueness. There is of course the Beatles Story on display in the Dock Area and the Cavern Club in the City which to be honest is not awe inspiring but just took a photo of Cilla Blacks' statue. I could go on as there are many splendid buildings around the City my favourite being the Liver Building. Hope this helps.

The 22 Clubs that have been in the Premier League and dropped into the 3rd tier.
at 01:56 11 Feb 2019

It is a frightening read if you take your football and especially Ipswich Town seriously, that far bigger Clubs than us have dropped like a stone from the heady heights of the Premier League into the third tier of English football. The Clubs are as follows:- Barnsley, Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton, Bradford City, Charlton, Coventry, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester City, Norwich, Nottingham Forest, Oldham, Portsmouth, QPR, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Sunderland, Swindon, Wigan and Wolves. Nine of the aforementioned Clubs are still playing in the third tier or below. Nine Clubs have managed to still be in the Championship and only 4 Clubs of the 22 listed are in the Premiership now, being Leicester, Manchester City, Southampton and Wolves. There have of course been some up and downs for some of the above Clubs for instance Coventry who dropped to the 4th tier but are now in Division One. Sadly it looks as though Ipswich will be number 23 to drop into the third tier having played in the Premiership.

S**t every week, beaten every week .... are you watching Marcus Evans?
at 17:21 10 Feb 2019

Mach foreignBlue - I know we are all disappointed at the way things are going and it hurts but I do not believe language used such as yours towards the owner is warranted. Perhaps you have an alternative as to who else will come here and invest almost 100 million and then take the debt with him which he has stated he will do. Your comments are in poor taste. If you do not like him there are better ways to express your thoughts. Losing to Norwich is bad enough without comments like yours.

Team for saturday
at 16:37 29 Jan 2019

Totally agree. How can Spence be in our strongest line up. The bloke is a total liability and Pennington although not a natural right back is far better. I'd rather have a poor Chambers at right back than Spence who has been an awful acquisition even if he was free.

Club Debt
at 13:34 6 Jan 2019

Could someone out there clarify for me where The Club stands with the current debt of 95 million pounds. In his early tenure I was led to believe that should Evans walk he will take the debt with him. Is this actually the case ?
Furthermore if we hound him out (I will not be one of them) how do we stand with the training ground which he now owns. If I were Evans and getting all this stick I would walk and state subject to any written clause can I have my 95 million back and the training ground is up for sale for prime position homes development. I just do not get all this hounding out of Evans and wonder if fans really realise how serious it will be if he does leave us. My reckoning would be that we will go into administration - is that what you all want ? I certainly don't.

What a dreadful line up for a match to keep our season alive. Picking Spence is ludicrous as he offers absolutely nothing except exposing our right flank. Never mind he may find his level today although I doubt it.

Sad times indeed for this once great Club.

Hard to see that as 2pts dropped
at 12:01 23 Dec 2018

The Referee yesterday Andy Woolmer was the worst we have had all season not just for yesterdays display but also his dreadful performance in our home match with Preston where he was just as bad. He appears to enjoy controversy and I just hope his referee assessment by the powers that be reflect what most of us thought of him.

Feel free to fire pelters - I'm starting to come round to the idea of relegation
at 15:51 3 Dec 2018

I really wonder if fans have seriously thought of the consequences of relegation which if at all possible must not happen. As mentioned on another thread today, the top tiers of a couple of stands would probably close. Our greatest asset at the moment the academy will surely be in danger of financial cuts and the owner who I know loves the academy will have a huge decision as to where his priorities lay i.e. the squad for the first team or continually funding the academy which in itself is a huge financial commitment which is sometimes forgotten when is Evans is slated on here. If we go down which looks a real possibility, season ticket prices will have to be reduced as with match day ticket prices. Huddersfield Town played the card of selling season tickets for £100 or so and hence reaped the rewards with far bigger crowds and the owners got their the deserved rewards. Not saying the Huddersfield way will happen for us but serious thought by the owner will have to be considered in these very worrying times.
