If we insist on inverting him it’s astonishing Jack Clarke isn’t out on the left playing around him. That’s literally his game.

But as you said I’d rather we use Leif how we have when he’s been our best attacking
Player.

Not sure he’s better defensively than Burns ?

Mcateer had the ball in so many good positions in the first half and wasted almost all of them. Looks like he could be a solid squad player but I’m hoping Egeli can give us some much needed X Factor.

I see what you’re saying for sure. I’m far from enamoured with one of our centre backs so far but I thought Hirst received the balls in some nice areas today and failed to use it on way too many occasions, I thought the same at Preston.

Nobody should be writing off players for the season this early and that’s not what im doing but im far from convinced with what im seeing.

Obviously yet to see SWE and Nunez but I’m struggling to see where these physical players are. We look so small and so fragile.

How the squad is shaping up

Imagine we are looking for a similar type to Omari.

We played Clarke there all through pre season and then vs Saints and vs Preston. So I doubt it is return to the promotion season. We will want a left footed, pacey, ball carrier who likes to come inside with the ball. I'm pretty confident of that.
