So because I have the temerity to write something on here I am seeking attention. I thought I was writing in a forum of football fans who might be interested in discussing the subject.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not interested in watching professional football in empty stadiums. I tried it over the lockdowns and grew to appreciate that even the highest quality football is very little without a crowd reaction.

I haven't switched it on. I was aware already that it would be empty.

I am perfectly aware of why there are no fans.

My comment was merely that I struggle to generate any enthusiasm in the Nations League and the fact there are no fans there makes it even less appealing to me.

Apologies for posting a football-related opinion on a football-related forum.

Then playing in front of a practically empty stadium has killed off any potential interest for me.

Sunderland keeper claims the club made him play with COVID
at 20:41 10 Jun 2022

Surely the only reasonable course of action is for us to take their place in the Championship for going over and above with our COVID precautions?

Wonder if we're planning on buying a handful of the Qatari squad?

First Game of the Season
at 18:22 28 May 2022

Something akin to the fixture list we had the start of last season to give us a better chance of starting well. Except that didn't work out very well!

Therefore Derby, Peterborough, Barnsley, Sheff Weds, MK Dons....

If the Cobbold is to be re-developed
at 19:08 11 May 2022

I've always thought that the pitch needs to be shifted across as the fencing at the bottom of the top tier of the Pioneer/Magnus/West Stand gets in the way of the near side of the pitch for the cameras and from some seats up there.

However, that would mean building a new Cobbold Stand over or on top of Portman Road and I don't imagine that would be easy or even possible.

Canary Call right now....
at 20:39 8 May 2022

I'd be staggered if they're not straight back up next season. They are rubbish at staying in the PL and always come down seemingly in a mess, fans calling for Delia's head, Farke's head, grumbling, apparently poor players having sold their latest 'star', Pukki's lost his touch, etc.

Yet they know how to get back up, backed with funds that they know how to spend at that level. Those poor players are usually good enough for the Championship, they typically find some gem and Pukki gets the number of opportunities he needs to score rather than the crumbs he gets in the PL.

I'll be amazed if they don't go up next year, but I won't care if the McKenna revolution achieves what it promises.

...when they have a game won. You never know when goal difference or even goals scored might be needed.

Of the 4 play-off teams - which would we prefer to see go up.
at 19:50 5 May 2022

Yep, Sunderland. Think if they're still in this division next season they'll be the biggest threat.

However, I'm we can get over being worried about any team at this level in 2022/23.

ALL THE GOALS: Macauley Bonne
at 19:00 4 May 2022

Such confidence, shooting from all angles, composure. Sadly, the longer he went without a goal, the further he got from that, which was all a sorry downward spiral. Still, really enjoyed having him here.
