So, so sad. What with the death of that young boy on the river at Beccles it's been a sobering day of young lives tragically cut short. RIP. |

And now they've had the opening ceremony after it's already opened! |

Does seem that way. There's also Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Spain in the same group, which also seems top heavy with big teams. Although I realise they may not equate exactly where the men's teams sit in the rankings. |

Seems an odd game to start the Women's Euros with. Don't they usually start with the hosts or holders at these sort of things? |

The only silver lining is that - as demonstrated in his time here - we would almost have certainly have been without him for large chunks of the season anyway but that's just about the only upside I can see to this. Although I wish him well, certainly can't blame him taking this opportunity. |

That would be superb, but I doubt he'd come here even if we were in the Premier League let alone now. Must be plenty of clubs who can offer him European football he would go to. |

Greaves will be an upgrade on Burgess, he's got 5 years on him and started fantastically last season, it was a pity that injury disrupted his season. Although I am sorry to see Cam go. Philogene and Clarke have already shown how good they are in the Championship and are an upgrade on what we had and several years to get better too. It's whether they're up to the Premier League that was the issue, although as mentioned there is time to get better and besides I thought Clarke improved as the season grew. You're right about Ogbene and Burns, that is always the danger after big injuries, but both of them could be like new signings at the start of next season, just without the need to settle in! I imagine that we are looking to improve all round and this time round we will be far more attractive to the type of signings we want than we were two years ago when we'd only just come up from League 1. None of this is to say we are guaranteed to go straight back up or even to be in with a chance, you never ever know in football and life in general. So much could happen. But I would say we are far better placed for a promotion push than we have been for many years, possibly ever. |

I do sometimes wonder how differently things might have panned out if we'd started with someone like Palace or Wolves when they were pants. Of course we still would've gone down as we would've needed one of those teams to stay pants and the newbies this year will have to hope that one of the established 17 mess it up big time this season, but perhaps we wouldn't have spent those first few weeks and months chasing our "first Premier League win 22 years" or our "first win at Portman Road in the Premier League since 2002" which all became a bit of a distraction I think. Maybe we would've built up enough points to still be in with a shout of staying up at the end of the season. |

Brentford usually promote from within. They know him and what he's capable of and if they think he's capable of doing the job then why go through the expense and effort of chasing and nabbing a manager who hasn't proved himself at Premier League level from another club? |

What, Greaves who is 5 years younger than Burgess and already one of the best in the Championship, who started for us really well before injury and (circumstances allowing) will only get better with us? I'm sad to see Burgess leave and had hoped to get another couple of years out of him, but that actually seems sensible business to me. |

I pretty much agree with that, but hoping that he comes good at just the right moment! |
 | Forum Reply | Tuchel - get rid at 21:58 10 Jun 2025
I would've preferred Carsley and then when he didn't want it we should've done all we could do to get Howe. However, it's too early to judge Tuchel. Whilst I'm not convinced that his management skills will transfer to international football, he may well come good and if he does we should be phenomenal! |
 | Forum Reply | Frank to Spurs confirmed - how are we feeling? at 17:35 10 Jun 2025
I'd be gutted if he went, but wouldn't blame him. You'd have to an abysmal manager to allow any of the established 17 get relegated and as we know he's certainly not that! Also an opportunity to build something with relatively managed expectations. Hopefully though he realises he has a project being built around his every need here and an even bigger potential here if we get things right in the long-term. |
