![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | Forum Thread | England v West Indies at Lords,10th July - 2 tickets for sale at 08:24 24 Jun 2024
Morning cricket fans. I have two tickets for the above test match which are no longer required as we have managed to get a group set. They are in the Edrich Stand Upper Tier and are £125 each. I am going to put them on the Lords resale site as the match is sold out but I thought I would offer them up to any Town fans that may be interested in Jimmy Andersons farewell match. DM if interested and we can sort out payment ang getting the tickets sent over. Cheers |

A good option if coming around the M25 would be Rickmansworth as you can get the Met Line or the Chiltern Line into Marylebone (circa 20 minutes). There are a number of car parks next to the station with Waitrose being the cheapest. Alternatives...... Ruislip (Met and Piccadilly lines) or West Ruislip (Central line and Chiltern) both have car parks next to them with the former being cheaper. Denham (Chiltern only) it has its on car park although you can park in residential streets a few minutes walk away for free. It seemed a popular choice for Southampton fans and supporters going to the rugby league final. |

Two of my Suffolk based friends both used Falcon Windows in Ipswich recently and said they were very good and reasonably priced |

Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer is a fairly easy read and quite amusing. Its also a good listen on audio as he does the narrating himself |

![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | Forum Thread | Interesting view on Martin from Loft for Words at 12:51 3 Apr 2024
"Martin is, undoubtedly now, a very decent manager to have if you want to build your team and club in a progressive, modern manner. But, isn’t it interesting (shut up, it is), that despite managing a parachute payment club with myriad financial advantages over the rest of us, a squad we could only dream of these days, goalscorers all over the park, it is, as it always has done before, coming unstuck for Martin at the business end of the season. He would rather stick to his ideal and refuse to shake hands with Millwall and Middlesbrough because they dared to equalise in the last minute playing another way, he would rather lose 3-2 at Ipswich and do pissy post-match interviews about who deserved and didn’t deserve to win and who scored the more aesthetically pleasing goal, than just suck up 20 minutes of backs-to-the-wall grubbiness. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out over the next two months" |

Back in the eighties I got an invite to see QPR v Liverpool at Loftus Road and after the game we went to the players lounge to meet the two sides. We also had our pick of the food that was typical of its time. Do players from both sides still meet up post match these days? Are supporters still allowed in? I am sure that aren't pilling into the beer and sausage rolls but wondered if this get together still happens in the modern game. |

I have a couple of paintings by Paul Evans who is based in Lavenham https://www.paulevans-artist.co.uk/ The paintings are quite expensive but his website has a link to his available prints which are cheaper |

Isn't there question marks over the series with Sri Lanka as they have been suspended by the ICC ? |

Southampton manager Russell Martin told BBC Radio Solent: "We had the biggest chance of the game with Shea and were punished for a mistake, not much in it. "They've come and got the goal and then defended really well. If Shea scores it's a different game. He seems to have forgotten the disallowed goal and the numerous other chances we had |

I remember the last game of the season against Brighton, fans invaded the pitch and I took a small clump of turf that had been churned up during the match. Planted it in my lawn where it remained for many years |

Interesting. Also notice that Peterborough are 19th and Barnsley 14th |

Not helped with the numpties in the North Stand keeping the ball and our own players tracking down the pitch to ask them to send it back |

I think thats why the teams suffer, it is a lot of travelling to far flung corners for meetings that can be called off at the last minute. Hoping to get to Oxford for a couple of meetings this season as its just up the A40 |

It is a problem particularly as I travel from West London. Don't usually attend early season meetings because of potential postponements. Also I try and meet up with friends in town if it gets called off. Do enjoy going though and hopefully this will be the Witches year after years in the title wilderness |

Parking at Rickmansworth is very easy if you dont want to go to Uxbridge, alternatively Denham Station allows you a 15 minute Chiltern journey to the stadium. If you are coming from Ipswich I am sure others will suggest better places the other side of London. |
