Will you do a match at Everton next season or wait and hope we are there in 26/7? At least Barnet is a short one. Gateshead would be a bit more of a treck! |
 | Forum Reply | Is it quite comforting that realistically we had no chance this season? at 16:03 14 Apr 2025
I think the big surprise for me is the overall standard of the whole league. I suppose in a way the money has levelled things out for the established teams. I thought teams like Everton were superb at Portman Road and that is the benchmark for survival as they have struggled last few years. Next year won't be any easer for the teams going up, so they have to do 15 points better than us, proper tough. They'll always be 'what ifs' over a season but worthless really. |
 | Forum Reply | Grounds with small away allocations next season: at 18:55 10 Apr 2025
It's a real mixed bag, I would think there will be 10-12 matches which are relatively easy to get, Millwall are another that can't afford to turn down more cash and will give a huge allocation. Swansea, Cardiff both should be down to low points before selling out, all the long Lancashire trips and even Leicester and Southampton will start to lose interest for many who have been last couple of years. Won't be any excuse not to have 20 points for the following season if you want them. |

There is loads I hate about the Premier League, mainly the fact us fans who turn up every week are so far down the priorities. However I totally agree this Championship is the most fun league is odd, every week on here we have people commenting on Championship football and saying the football is bang average. Was last season better than this season, yes of course; coming 2nd in League 1 was better than this season! But would I rather have our 24/25 season or Norwich's in mid-table Championship, easy ours and not just because they're them. There is only one place to be despite its big faults. |

Exactly, so when we don't take 6000 to Preston next season you will be back claiming you've been proved right and low pointers wont travel beyond London, but you'll be wrong...evidence...today. |
 | Forum Reply | Newcastle 10+ at 11:41 31 Mar 2025
Low pointers bail out the glory hunters and ensure a sell out...you'd have thought they would have worked out their 'won't travel past London' was flawed after the cup matches, but they were probably at home hugging their unused Wimbledon tickets. They'll still be back saying the same for Swansea and Preston next year...or maybe they will be nowhere to be seen if we are outside the top two... |

Did anyone get any online in the 15 point scramble today? I couldn't even get to the match screen then when I did it was sold out. |

The short trips in the Premier League have just added extra demand, will be interesting to see how Newcastle sells, will sell out of course but with the season all but over there may be a few who give it a swerve. Next season assuming Championship is real mixed bag, there are some smaller allocations but Millwall is another who can't afford to turn down good money from 6k travelling fans. I'm thinking you could easily get 10 games next year from a low starting point...places like Stoke are not that appealing in mid-winter (or summer). Norwich, QPR, Watford etc different matter but even Leicester and Southampton will become a been there, seen that for a lot. Will depend a lot on results. |
 | Forum Reply | Away allocation at PR next season at 14:11 17 Mar 2025
It was a shocker from the club..no communication until pictures appeared on social media. Then told the people impacted not to complain because it was all about the Premier League. Sums up the bad bit of Premier League, we are just bodies to make an atmosphere and fill the background on tv. And to give the away team the advantage of having fans in prime position over the half way line is madness. The South Stand is designed ready for segregation at the entrance and exit, it will cause more pain to move them but away fans should be in there, will happen when they rebuild Cobbold anyway. I guess next season they will reduce the away allocation but use it as a chance to increase match day tickets rather than sell them as season tickets. |

For me it's not about the stadium but the people in it, could be an 11k capacity mini-stadium or 100k mega stadium but it has to be a place which is home and loved by the clubs fans. However when I see those Man U plans on the news I don't see something which is home to a football club, just an entertainment venue. Really hard to express but a football ground has to be a place for football fans who really feel the club and the place. Some of the biggest clubs just feel like they have lost their soul, we fans are not just extras in a TV extravaganza, often it now feels that is exactly what we are. |

There was another one in the Full Members nonsense. Same season as we smashed Luton 2-1, we went on to lose 4-3 to Chelsea. So with the 3 missing from the list shared it's Played 17 Won 5 Lost 12...29.4%. And the wins are against Shrewsbury, Peterborough, Colchester, Reading and Luton! [Post edited 4 Mar 9:02]

A very similar performance to Villa, a really good battle. Problem is someone like Johnson gives us shape and discipline away from home but brings nothing when we need to breakdown a team at home. |
 | Forum Reply | Still plenty of tickets left for Monday I see at 10:09 3 Mar 2025
41 tickets left at 10.00. Plenty, including me, critise the ticket office when they mess up, so important to say well done when they get it right. Clearly they couldn't have been more spot on here, some said we should have taken more tickets but they would have been wasted. A good effort from across the fan base to get 3000 to Nottingham on a Monday night when the option is there to watch at home. |
 | Forum Reply | 1981-02-28 Coventry City v Ipswich Town at 07:48 3 Mar 2025
The next season 81-82 was organised at really short notice which would probably explain why several Town fans missed it. Can't quite remember the details but there was bad weather everywhere and both us and Coventry were postponed a couple of days before the scheduled fixtures. Coventry's pitch was playable, so our game was rearranged at less than 48 hours notice, maybe even the Friday. The programme was a single sheet of paper due to the short notice; it became one of Towns rarer match programmes, mainly because most were turned into paper aeroplanes. Different era of just turning up and paying at the gate, wouldn't happen now with all the stewarding and ticketing etc. |
 | Forum Reply | If Man City are relegated, maybe we are safe if we finish 3rd bottom? at 08:18 1 Mar 2025
We don't deserve to stay up so far but I'd certainly take it. With another £100m to spend and a seasons worth of knowledge I would back us to be good next year. Two negetive thoughts.. If they get 60 point deduction I think they could finish on +20 if they won all their games..we're not there yet. The worst possible outcome is they get relegated and Leicester put us down too. That is a shot at the Championship title taken away from us, and more importantly, one promotion spot taken before the season starts. |

The one I never understand is when people talk about 'The big 6' Trophies galore amongst... Manchester United Manchester City Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool and, errr, hmm, How do Spurs join this group? Won nothing in living memory, it can only be most journalists are Spurs fans that qualifies them? |

Exactly the same allocation as the league match in November. So we haven't taken the additional 5% we could have asked for. Seems sensible in the circumstances. |
