 | News Comment | Johnson: We've Done the Club Proud at 16:12:13
Yep, some people will never get Johnson because it is all about doing a job and not being a super skillful little twisty player. I'd say Johnson has had as many positive games as Omari this season, especially away from home where his work rate and discipline really pay off but he'll never be the star player. |
 | News Comment | McKenna Nominated For Manager of the Season at 15:42:17
If I were Kieron I would hand it straight back when presented. If Leif isn't even worth a player of the year nomination the awards clearly aren't worth having. |
 | News Comment | Head of Recruitment Linked With Former Club at 14:27:30
Not sure recruitment has been the highlight of the last couple of years. January 23 was a good window but the clear out of the small recruitment team in place pre Ashton / Mckenna was not completed much before then. This may be the only area we had better people in place already without the Bristol / Manchester backroom takeover. |
 | News Comment | Lankester Nets Twice as U18s Beat Daggers in Youth Cup at 14:43:29
Just seen elsewhere the attendance was 585. The youngsters deserve better in the next round. £3 is a very reasonable amount, facebook coverage is good but get out in the fresh air and enjoy the next round in person. |
 | News Comment | Town Face Posh in Double Friendly at 15:32:36
Pre-season games are boring, is this a shock? They are not for us , they are there for the players to be in best shape for first league game. If we choose to go along and watch that is our choice but not something to moan at the club / manager about (there are enough good reasons to be grumpy without making an issue where there isn't a need.) I get the point about the last friendly should be against tough opponents and it wasn't tough enough last season but I think there were reasons?? We don't even know who the last friendly I against yet. |
 | News Comment | Town XI to Play Benefit Game at Newmarket at 19:31:19
There is a week between Barnet and Colchester friendlies... send the first team over that blank weekend or if Newmarket are busy then play a local non league XI at Portman Road. A few thousand of us would go along to raise some funds and watch a game. |
 | News Comment | Liverpool "Leading Dozzell Chase" at 10:26:13
Need to remember the club has little control of this. They can offer him a contract but if he decides to go elsewhere while still part of the Academy then we just get compensation under the Academy rules. Rubbish if he goes and we only get 1.5M but not the club or MM's fault this time. How can we blame MM for not playing a 16 year old? How many of us have actually seen him play, clearly got bags of potential but being ready now is something else. |
 | News Comment | Capital One Cup Draw on Tuesday at 17:11:49
Clearly South - Wimbledon, Barnet, Bristol Rovers, Cambridge, Colchester, Crawley, Dagenham, Exeter, Leyton Orient, Luton, Oxford, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southend, Stevenage, Wycombe, Yeovil Clearly North - A Stanley, Burton, Bury, Carlisle, Crewe, Doncaster, Hartlepool, Mansfield, Morecombe, Notts County, Oldham, Port Vale, Scunthorpe, York Not Sure - Coventry, Northampton, Walsall, Shrewsbury, Newport. So I guess to get 18 in each section..Newport are soft southerners and the rest dirty northern... |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Town Missing Hyam at 07:36:00
He might not add much going forward but as Mick and all of us know that's not our only problem in midfield right now. He might stop the soft goals, maybe he would have tracked back and stopped the first goal last Sunday and he might also link the defence with the rest of the team. That short pass that Tommy keeps looking for might be on with Hyam playing. Sure he might only be part of an answer but I don't think Mick is quoted as saying Hyam will score loads is he? |
 | Blog Comment | Ticketing at 10:11:13
Not sure why people are saying the blogger is looking for preferential treatment as a season ticket holder. That sounds like someone with a pre-conceived idea of season ticket holders being needy and just jumping to conclusions. This sounds like someone who is a home season ticket holder and an occasional away attendee, so not so familar with the ticketing system. If there is a need for bitching then the blogger should be branded with that old favourite for popular away games...daytripper! |
 | News Comment | Pre-Season Tour Dates Set at 11:25:26
I'd have thought lower league teams were more likely than than the top guys like PSV, AZ or Twente. Maybe Dordrecht or Sparta Rotterdam from the Dutch Championship equivalent? |
 | News Comment | Stoke Confirm Walters Switch at 16:21:07
Can't see us having to pay Chester any money as they were wound up last year. As the new Chester are a totally new club I think they will have trouble getting any cash from us even if there was a sell on clause. |
 | News Comment | Irish Friendly Falls Through at 08:42:17
This is nothing to do with Keane but it is a shambles. We have two weeks between the PSV game and West Ham fixture. That's at least a week too long between friendly games, what a boring time for the players. Even if you assume they put out the first team at Leiston it's still 10 days and local non-league teams are fine for an early pre-season run out but hardly ideal in the middle of pre-season. If it felt like a delibrate plan fine but it has all the signs of a chaotic set-up behind the scenes. If I were Keane i would be in screaming at Clegg or whoever in Cleggs team has messed up |
