Great blog @chripswich that, along with the comments in the posts above, echo the thoughts and opinions of the Pattaya ITFC group, 7 of us (I must change my username). Our collective opinion is that KM should have changed AM for Walton weeks before he did so. This would have enabled him to bed back in with the team, before having to contend with City and Liverpool. To some extent it was understandable for KM to persevere, not least of to show faith and confidence in what was a high value signing, but misguided loyalty has come at a price! Having a vocal, confident and capable keeper from the onset would, I believe, have led to us being 4 or 5 points better off than we are. Though I spend most of my time in Thailand I decided to retain my season ticket (SBR lower behind the goal) for when I’m in the UK. I saw the Liverpool and Man United games and will be home in April for the Wolves and Arsenal games. When I’m not the UK my seat is always occupied by family and friends who are under strict instructions to make some noise, don’t groan at every misplaced pass and never boo!! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Changing the Team in Cups Has Been an Important Part of Our Success at 08:00:08
Hmmm, reading between the lines I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are loads of changes to the team. Palmer in goal I guess, along with lots of fringe players in from the start to give the regular starters a rest. Though there might be issues with 'gelling' whatever team is fielded should be well-drilled and strong enough to win. |

Underwhelmed! A terrible marketing video, an awful soundtrack and an average shirt!! Really surprised that the much hyped new executive management team allowed the launched in this format. |

A great design but I'm another who thinks it looks more like Alan Hunter - at the moment! Still time though to put this right before production. |

Away kit with blue shirts would be awesome. Home kit is shockingly bad!! |
 | News Comment | McCarthy Excited as Players Return to Fitness at 06:49:01
^^^ All the players he mentioned are midfielders and strikers and yes we will be stronger if they were all available - if MM was to swap it around a bit from time to time by dropping out of form players, which he is reluctant to do! But it's defence that continues to be our weak point; we all know it but MM perseveres with the same back five week after week after week after week zzzzzzzz. If only he would make a change or two occasionally; and if we continued to leak goals then he could smugly say "told you so" but to big up everyone is getting tiresome for most of us. If all our players have been outstanding, terrific, different class or whatever superlative he choses to use then we would be playing far better football and doing rather better than we are. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Gerken Starts, Sears a Doubt at 16:49:20
Sorry, but this why so many Town fans get so frustrated with McCarthy. He's done a decent job in stabilising Town but his bizarre selection decisions and stubbornness cost us points last season and they are already costing us this season. Some won't like this and I'll get down arrows but I don't give a flying fig. He's improved our attacking options massively but defence is not balanced and Gerks is the biggest single weak link in our team. I sometimes despair with McCarthy at the helm, only because I believe he gets it wrong sometimes, something he'll never admit to, and because I'm sure we could do so much better with better team selections. But what the hell do I know, I'm only been playing and watching football for around 50 years - I'm no manager. |

I have very fond memories of Danny playing for Town in the late 60s; a great player on his day but a bit inconsistent it has to be said. RiP |
 | News Comment | McCarthy Delighted to See Tabb Score But Wants More Midfield Goals at 06:29:20
Skuse "Outstanding all season" - really? He's been mediocre at best with some decent games mixed in with some very poor ones. I've seen him live a few times this season when home and I've seen almost every game live on TV and for me he's a very average player that would not get into any other team in the top half of the Championship. When he's on top of his game doing the job he's in there to do he gives an 8/10 performance, not inspiring but solid and doing a good mopping up job, but when he's not on top of his game he's a 5/10 drifting around not contributing a great deal. I actually feel that Tabb could do a better job in that position and he has considerably more energy, he presses opposition, he can get off the ground to head the ball (unlike Skuse), he's a 'slightly' better passer, he looks for the ball more than Skuse does and there's a modicum of a goal threat from him. He's just not that good as a left midfielder! Bottom line; Skuse has not been "outstanding all season" - well, not in my opinion but others may agree with MM, who after all knows far more than me as a football manager. |

Shame, could have provided the attacking flair and pace that's been so badly missed recently. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy Frustrated By Failure to Score at 18:58:53
We will finish 8th. We've been punching above our weight and have done so well to at least be competitive and in with a shout. But sadly we lack quality, we are unbalanced with too many round pegs in square holes and we failed to strengthen in the transfer window. All very disappointing but at least we're at the right end of the table and MM has given us some hope this season - frustrating though some of his team selections are! |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Parr a Threat From Midfield at 07:29:46
"I'm loyal to players and I like players who know they're going to be playing in the team because they've played well". Commendable but one of Mick's weaknesses is that he shows that same loyalty even when players do not play well - he has his favourites as most will agree. My concern is that he will revert back to his favourites Terrific Tabby and Different Class Ando - I hope I'm wrong. |
 | News Comment | Skuse: Midfield Needs to Score More at 06:19:35
“Of course we, the midfielders, need to score more." No sh1t Sherlock! They not only need to score more they need to create more as well. Oh for a winger that is fast and can actually beat a man and send in dangerous crosses (as well as cover defensive duties of course!) or a midfield maestro to pull the strings and thread balls though on the ground to our strikers. We can all but dream ... |
