Portsmouth Confirm Norris Signing
at 20:01:02

for people criticising clegg, its clear that norris wanted to move on no matter what he was offered by ipswich. Portsmouth aren't in the financial position to be offering norris much more than what we could have offered him. I agree with some people that portsmouth arent much better than us and it is maybe a step in the wrong direction for him but for people that have called him 'average', well we only have to look at the amount of goals he has scored and his consitent performances since we signed him. It'll be sad to see him go as i thought even when he wasnt playing great he was still putting 110% in, which is more than can be said for most players.

Norris Could Leave Town
at 09:21:34

I personally feel that Noris gives 100% every game, how many players can you say that about in our current side. He has scored vital goals this season that has meant we have won the game. It would be a shame to let him go at least on a free any way, when we could recoup some of the 2.2m spent on him. He is small, but thats what you need in midfield a terrior who wins the ball back, gives it to the more creative players. He is a worker who doesnt stop running for the entire 90+ mins and is difficult to play against. Hope PJ keeps him for next season, COYB !!!!!

Wickham Nominated for Player of the Month
at 21:50:47

I think connors done very well, considering his age and where he is playing.I think the missed chances at pompey will mean he won't win it, although saying that from what ive seen of the other nominees this month, none have done that much better. As a whole i hope he stays here until the end of next season, see where ipswich are then, and then he'll have enough experience to fight for a place in a premiership team. Saying that, i can see him going this summer which would be a massive mistake all round.

Jewell: Better Side in the First Half But Didn\'t Threaten Enough
at 14:19:22

cant complain about this result, qpr are a very good team with the right balance of creativity(taarabt etc), bite at the back(derry, fitz hall) and ability to finish off their chances. I agree with the comments about scotland not being good enough on his own up top, but i think when he's played with another striker he's looked more dangerous. I just think we should carry on this season the way it is, get a bit of team spirit by trying to push up the table a bit and playing the same team week in week out. Like warnock said i bet jewell already has half an eye on next season. As much as i'd love to see the town back in the prem next season, i dont think we're strong enough as a unit and another season of developing would do us good; think how good wickham will be, and with added signings...

Line-up against pompey should be:
FULOP (its a shame murphy's injured because he deseves a chance after fulops performance)

EDWARDS MACAULEY DELANEY KENNEDY

BULLARD

LEADBITTER NORRIS

WICKHAM PRISKIN MARTIN

Town Rebuff Double Palace Bid
at 21:21:26

I'd say Norris is worth about 1million, and delaney only worth around 500k so the offer isn't way below their actual worth, also consider that with their contracts out in the summer, it's likely that clubs would accept lower offers just to get some money for them. Saying all that i'm glad we've stood firm, one big mistake keane made was getting rid of players before we had signed replacements, and that's given us problems, best example being our right back position. We've kept hold of our best players and gained two exciting midfielders, the only way from here is up!

Burnley Confirm Austin Signing
at 22:03:41

the amount of people calling for cleggs head after this deal, who's to say it was cleggs fault? Austin probably demanded too much which is fair enough, if you have a number of clubs after you, naturally you push them for a good deal. Also, i dont think its worth the risk putting him on high wages. Yes he's proved in a lower league but the championship is a quality league, and there's no guarantee that he'll score goals. I think the board are just being cautious after the amount of money we wasted on players such as lee martin and priskin(hopefully both will prove me wrong in the near future)

Hull: Town Paying Bigger Share of Bullard\'s Wages
at 17:35:27

bullard is a great player but the wage packet is worrying, especially if he comes here and doesnt perform. I like the fact that paul jewells looking to the lower leagues for players like austin, its usually where you find the gems and they dont come with a massive wage demand. Lets hope bullard performs, i suppose the fact that he's only on loan means that if he doesn't perform well we'll only be paying his wages for a few more months.

Jewell Pays Tribute to His Players\' Effort, Workrate and Energy
at 11:47:17

Great effort, proud night for the town. The only bad thing is that next game we'll see our attendance drop back down under 18,000 and all of the part time supporters will have left. Start of a new era under jewell, because as we've proved in this cup competition, we've got the quality to compete against good teams.

Pompey Confirm Bids
at 12:57:32

garv i think we're the only sane ones here. The amount of people talking about getting nugent and players of his calibre? for one thing, what makes you think he would want to move from a team on the verge of the play-offs, to us who are stuck nearer the bottom of the table? Plus nugent would be on a pretty heavy wage demand, which is a big risk to take on one player; hes not guaranteed to come here and play well. As for getting rid of norris, we wont get anywhere selling our best players. As some people are suggesting, i hope jewell dips into the league 1 transfer market and builds a team of players on a lower wage, but with a great team spirit. Blackpool comes to mind.

McParland: Arsenal\'s High Line Key to Town\'s Tactics
at 16:37:46

its all mind games from fabregas. But i can see what he means, they had the majority of posession, and done nothing with it. Give praise to mcparland, he got the tactics spot on last night. When you're playing a team of such high quality you can't try and play football around them. I thought kennedy was impressive, even if i was a little worried when i first saw that he was playing centre mid. I hope jewell gets a winning side together, playing basically the same team every week. Peters was quality at right back, and i think all of the players done themselves proud infront of their new gaffer.

Jewell Makes First Town Scouting Trip
at 01:32:00

Its good looking into the lower leagues, but boyd and mackail-smith were both part of a side that got relegated, so they couldnt have been amazing. However i'm sure whatever signings jewell makes will be more thought out, unlike keane who bought lee martin.

Jewell: Too Good an Opportunity to Turn Down
at 17:17:12

tortoise i agree, he's relatively young so is still a good man manager but has vital experience backing him. He wont make rash decisions that cost keane his job ultimately (spending millions on martin and priskin). He's a down to earth guy with realistic aspirations, he knows we need to be patient and we wont become a premiership team over night. Hopefully under him we'll develop into a team maybe next season or the following season that pushes for promotion. COYB.

McAuley: Some Players Let Keane Down
at 16:02:19

with all the controversy surrounding keane and his management styles, hopefully it gives us a chance to start again now. New manager, couple of fresh faces, and it also gives the players a new start such as wickham, priskin, o'connor etc who didnt seem to be given a great chance under keane. We've got a good team with good players, we just need that team spirit back which has been lost over the last couple of months. Hopefully the fans will forgive and forget, and push the team to kick on this season!

Keane Relaxed on Contract
at 20:43:55

how can people say hes performing crap? we're 6th which (as much as i hate saying it) is probably as good as we're gonna get with the group of players we've got. Yes keane has made mistakes but he's not a miracle worker. It just annoys me that people can call themselves town supporters when all they do is come up with ways to stir up rubbish. If you were a true supporter, you would get behind the team whatever the weather. If we're nowhere near the play-offs at the end of the season then you can criticise keane, but its a joke doing it now in the position we're in.

Keane: We Rode Our Luck
at 20:36:04

good result at a tricky place to go to, and three very winnable games coming up. I dont want to jump ahead too much and get my hopes up but 7 or 9 points after the three games would put us in a very good position, maybe even cementing our position in the top 6. And with the scum after that, we can be confident of a result. Looking forward to derby, hope keane starts with the same team.

Carling Cup Quarter-Final Date Set
at 20:45:52

martus maybe thats how we used to play in the 80's, but even then i dont think we played the same quick football as arsenal do now. Times have changed, If you honestly think we've lost before we've even kicked off against them, its pointless you even being a town fan.
