Hammond to Be Released
at 23:46:35

Starting to lose respect for MM. This lad was knocking on the first team door in pre season last season had great performances until he got injured. Got himself fit again with true professionalism and singled out for praise from Mick for his positive attitude and dedication now he cannot remember what injury he had. He is a right back who likes getting forward chips in with his share of goals and can run all day so obviously we have them in abundance. Good luck Kyle. Go to Colchester you will walk straight into their first team their RB is woeful.

Gerken Returns and Trialists Start as U21s Lose to Coventry
at 13:25:40

Agree with Smithy, I went to the game and the conditions were terrible. The Coventry lads looked very good and adapted to the conditions better than us. Their left back Ryan Haynes was the standout performer for me and based on this performance has a very bright future ahead. As for Town well Gerken was commanding, comfortable and vocal throughout, Hewitt didn't do enough for me to show he wants 1st team football, Henshall was non-effective and disinterested. Hammond playing out of position on the right of midfield never stopped running and at least went looking for the ball causing them problems and nearly set up an equalizer with a fantastic whipped ball midway through the second half. The CB pairing of Fowler and Clarke looked solid enough defending but lacked composure when distributing, As for the rest very ordinary i'm afraid but give Coventry credit they are a skillful young team that would cause most opponents problems.
I'm not sure what positives Big Mick would have taken from watching this performance other than underlining the fact as to why he doesn't pick Henshall and Hewitt for the first team squad.

Boyd at Posh But Talks Continue
at 12:24:02

Although deadline day is exciting, I cant help but think that you are always going to settle for second best or tenth best in Towns case. The movement of players on loan is understandable however, To spend big bucks on players to hurridly attempt to improve your squad is very nieve and short sighted. You have all Summer to talk to clubs, players etc and create a wish list and ok these deals often break down but you would only target players that would match your valuation. Same goes for allowing players like DD to leave without a replacement lined up is a joke. If we fail to stengthen our defence today after already weakening it this week is crazy. If we land St Ledger ( a long term target) on a full contract that would be great. Anyone else would be a " make do" and not exactly a planned calculated approach for future team building. IMO.

Davies Could Stay at Derby Until January
at 12:51:32

My Opinion is this.

Firstly we could go out sign a lower league striker with no experience at this level and spend 400k on him and he doesnt make the grade or we spend 850k on a man who judging by the comments by some Derby supporters on this site is well rated and liked in the terraces and who they believe is a bargin at 1million. We all have an opinion on all our own players and most of us are in agreement as to who is any good or not. Maybe 1million for this guy is outside of our means however im sure a compremise is available which suits all parties involved, Then its just down to agreeing the personnel terms with Cleggy.....Oh right ...anyone know any good strikers in Division 2????????

Ward Continues to Weigh Up Options
at 12:58:01

Would be a great signing if it happens. Would also be great if we went for Kyle Macfadzean from Crawley, Great CB at right age, height, bags of ability and at the right price, This lad has been a huge rock for Crawley and the step up would suit him im sure. Could be another cresswell.

Jewell: Football Must Learn to Cut its Cloth
at 12:35:15

there is gonna be a hell of a lot of out of work footballers next year then. can only see this as being a negetive move for the fans. might as well go and support the local pub team. There will be far fewer big name crowd pleasers in this division and lower attendances leading to less revenue for the club leading to lowering wage bills leading to lower quality leading to lower attendances.....the circle goes on.......get the picture. not a good move IMO

Town Move for Five - Three From Pompey
at 12:33:32

Lets be honest and realistic, look at our league position, look at our teams fighting spirit or lack of it. We are in a dog fight with a bunch of overpaid over rated has beens or wanna be's. look at the points we have dropped from winning positions this season. when was the last time we managed to secure three points when a man down??. We simply are not a team and bringing in any new players now will have little bearing on our season. No i dont think we will go down but TBH it wouldnt be a bad thing ( look at Norwich ). Until we can train, work and set our stall out as a COMPLETE unit we cannot and will not move forward. The Club needs to take a long hard look at itself. We have the players to do well here already, we just dont have the spirit or the guts to prove it. Time to stand up and be counted......

Andrews in Contract Termination Talks at Blackburn
at 12:13:03

Why sign anyone at all we will only turn half decent players to crap within 6 months with the poor backroom and training set up we have at this once great club of ours... a massive change is needed at this level not all down to the manager, but he will prob lose his job over it.........

Best of luck Jim, Beginning to build up an impressive CV now- You did a great Job for Town under difficult conditions, Your short lived time as QPR boss was still very good and fantastic supporting role at Shamrock, 3 months in Oz to wet your lips to time in nicely for a return to Town in the summer to lead us to the play offs next season...Nice that you beat Keano to this Oz job as well.

Jewell: Centre-Half a January Priority
at 13:22:37

Many of you have touched on the point that our current woes are down to more that just bad signings, manager and Clegg. I strongly agree with those that say our problems stem even deeper. Our whole training and coaching set up needs to be addressed and fast. Why is it that every single player that we either bring through from the youth ranks, every single new signing and just about everyone that kicks a ball for this club soon lose that earlier shown promise. Collins was a giant for us at first and became too laid back on his last games for us, Bullard now plays like he is having a kick around in the park with his kids, Leadbitter still as inconsistent as ever. The list goes on. And as for the youth set up well. The final straw for me was 2 years ago when we allowed Rhodes to leave, when we all knew of his potential and his ability to score and a player of such promise. This kind of thing should never happen at Ipswich, 5 years ago we would have coached and developed these players to top flight class and although prob sold on for a tidy profit to balance the books. Look deeper ME our whole back room and developement set up need severe sorting or we will remain in the footballing wilderness for years to come.

Lavery Exit Looks Certain
at 12:55:48

Worth a punt me thinks, one year pro deal for this kid aint gonna break the bank considering some of the other gambles we have made in recent years that have backfired. The reports on this kid are good and he can only get better. So we pay him a little more than what he is worth now, least the ball will be firmly in his court to impress or he will find himself clubless in a years time and would have to take a massive cut in wage to play non league....I still feel bitter about Keano letting go of Rhodes and a year or so later he is banging in goals for fun, av goal every other game, notching 3 hat tricks in a month ( one for scotland u21 and back to backs for Huddesfield and now if reports are true..Man Utd keeping a close eye on him ).
Feel this one could end up with a simular outcome.....

Jewell Continuing Player Hunt
at 13:02:46

It is nice to see PJ looking to strenghten the squad with up coming talent however I would like to see him taking a closer look at our own youth set up and maybe just maybe he might unearth a gem there. Looking elsewhwere for players when he has signed the numbers we have this season will only demoralise the players we have and subsiquently have a knock on effect on the youth and fringe players currently at the club...Time to develop what we have.....

Jewell Again Watches Huddersfield as Preston Striker Linked
at 13:15:45

We have a large squad of proffesional players over half of which are Jewells signings, be it loan or otherwise..we have some very promising youngsters coming through..if given the chance....MY POINT IS THIS... I feel that it is a sign of bad management and leadership that we can't complete on the pitch over 90 mins, Belief is something that needs to be installed into the team. Yes we need competition for places but we also need to create a sense of belonging with the team we have. Scotland, Priskin, Leadbitter do not become poor players over night. they all have the ability, they just need to be managed better. You don't go out and buy a new car soon as yours has a fault.. you get it fixed. The difference between a good player and a bad player is only 90 minutes. We need to address the way we manage our team. Not looking elsewhere in the hope that we unearth the next big thing....
