Loach in the Pink

Perhaps the whole club could get involved. The whole of the NFL does.

You’re Not Fit to Wear the Shirt!
at 17:58:36

An interesting blog and thought provoking blog. I was thinking that this must be a football wide thing now as since Supple came out with those comments in 2009 the squad and most, if not all, of the staff have now changed a couple of times.

It seems to be that Ipswich should perhaps be doing more to looking into the players background and attitude in greater depth before signing them and not just making the decision based on footballing ability.

Chopra Defends Night Out Five
at 23:29:16

I don't care that you were out, whether you were drinking or not or what time you got home. What I do care about is the respect you show towards us supporters

At the AGM the biggest moan of the evening was towards the players. Clegg defended the decision for not having Carlos as a guest because he wanted the captain to be preparing for the next game, which is fair enough given whats gone on. Then to find out he is out on the town is very embarrassing for Clegg, and a let down for us supporters who pay your wages and to those who made the effort to go to the AGM.

So PJ wishes his team was full of loan players from day 1 then. Excellent.

Good to see that PJ is doing some thorough homework on players before signing them.

Jewell Disappointed With Cropper's Agent
at 11:13:50

What did he expect the agent to do? NOT tell his client????!

Always speak to the person involved first, it isn't right to hear something like this second hand. It would have been a matter of minutes between telling the player first, then the agent or even speak to them together at the same time!

Town Topic: What Could Improve Matchdays at Portman Road?
at 19:35:28

A few ideas... (in no particular order)

1) A t-shirt gun lunching t-shirts into the stands at half-time
http://tshirtgun.com/

2) Illuminate the outside of the stadium with blue lights
http://www.smartcoolpicture.com/amazing-sport-stadiums-photo-at-night/

3) Big screen showing goals from current and past games

4) Open the practise pitch to the SBR stand

5) Beer in better cups and more people serving

6) Singing competitions before the game from each of the four stands

7) Pictures of Town heroes in the SBR stand bar or all around the ground

8) Cheaper tickets

Jewell Already Eyeing Next Season as Blues Travel to Crystal Palace
at 19:19:08

Great. So the manager isn't bothered about the game, the players definitely weren't bothered on Monday - why should I be bothered? No wonder we've stayed still from where we were last season.

New Kits Unveiled in April
at 19:01:16

I don't like the idea of having a new home and away kit every year just to be the same as every other club.

I also don't understand the keeping costs down argument. I doubt very much people will buy a new kit every year. This means having fewer made, making each shirt more expensive to produce as there are more costs involved in producing two new kits every year rather than one; design, distribution, marketing, production etc.

Bullard Suspended, Chopra Fined
at 19:05:36

So I take it that Chopra doesn't like playing football then?

By suspending them both from first team duty doesn't mean you can't keep an eye on them. Get them in painting the turnstiles or changing light bulbs!

Skipper Leadbitter Set to Return at Reading

PJ, if you wanted continuity then why did the club let lots of players leave last summer out of contract? And now it looks as though the same thing will happen this season!

Clegg: Town’s Debt Not a Concern
at 18:47:41

I'm amazed to read that £50m of debt is of no concern. That's seems to be a very flippant comment to make. Is it beyond the realms of possibility to be debt free and competitive ever again?

Clegg: Town’s Debt Not a Concern
at 18:11:55

I'm amazed to read that £55m of debt is of no concern. I'd be very concerned if it was my money! I long for the day when we can be completely debt free, break-even and be competitive. At the moment those seem to be a long way away.

Looks like lots of work needs to be done for when the 60% rule comes in.
