| Forum Reply | Play-Off Final | Who do we want up with us? Leeds or Soton? at 16:45 20 May 2024
I've pondered this, and I think no, as I do not want to the give them a convenient excuse that they can cling to such as a dodgy VAR etc. It has to be unambiguously soul destroying to reduce even the most hardened fans to tears . . . live on TV. |

My dream scenario is that Leeds score in the 85th minute, only for Southampton to equalize in the last minute of injury time. Leeds then go ahead in extra time only for Southampton to score twice in the last few minutes of the match, ideally with Leeds losing to a calamatous own goal scored by Dan James. Don't care about who we play next season - just want to see Leeds fans think they have got there, twice, only to see it snatched away. |

That’s the difference that McKenna brought, creating a team where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. |

When we lost 4-0 at elland road, Leeds only had 9 shots scoring with the 4 on target. They’ve had 15 shots after 55 mins tonight with 9 on target. |

Plus he is not in a cast on either leg, to me that suggests that the tendon does not need to be kept in a fixed position for recovery. I speak from experience after rupturing my achilles nearly 12 years ago . . . |
| Forum Reply | If you were a Spurs fan at 11:09 14 May 2024
Without a doubt, I would always put Town first. Spurs have the door ajar after last night, especially considering Villa are away at one of the the current form teams on Sunday while Spurs travel to Sheff Utd. All they have to do is beat the other form team first. |
| Forum Reply | Can we now all agree that Saturday was the final nail at 10:55 8 May 2024
The run up to Saturday I was the same, pangs of nerves etc, but as they kicked off it all felt strangely calm and no nerves, I never had a doubt from that point onwards. Under KM it felt completely under control, and they would just get it done. |
| Forum Reply | Home Ticket Priority at 17:18 7 May 2024
I agree - having moved to Suffolk ~ 2 years ago with a lot of work to do on the property we bought, I opted not to get the season ticket, and have subsequently been doing exactly that below, buying tickets for the games I could make. I think back in 00/01 Season Tickets sold out hence the ballot system, but football is a different business these days. Whatever the system, people will miss out - I will have to accept the fact that now I have the time and money to go to every pretty much home game, the choice I made 2 years ago has bitten me, just have to put my big boy pants on and suck it up. |
| Forum Reply | Home Ticket Priority at 16:16 7 May 2024
Last time in the Prem they ran a ballot system where non ST holders subscribed and got tickets automatically, but could return them and get priority on the next home game (I think). Not ideal but seemed to work ok, you ended up with 4-5 games over the season from memory. Whatever the solution it's going to end up feeling unfair to some and not others. [Post edited 7 May 16:17]

That's less luck and more about how the team conduct themselves on the pitch, you can generally get away with the odd bad tackle if you manage the relationship with the officials. |

We did not have a single red card this season, and only one last season - surely reflects the measured nature of the manager/coaches that after 2 seasons of high pressure matches, the players keep their heads and focus on the match The more I consider the key little differences between us and the other clubs around us, the more my admiration for McKenna and his staff grows. However, be interesting with VAR to see how the players adjust their approach on the pitch, completely different scenarios now when defending set pieces etc. Also not looking forward to the interminable wait between the ball crossing the line and being able to celebrate. |

Tranny? Ahem, I think the term is cross dresser. |
| Forum Reply | Is Ed Sheeran going to be at FPR tomorrow? at 13:01 3 May 2024
Doubt it, starts at 20:00 and I doubt will finish before 21:30 at best, which is effectively 5:30am UK. It's ~10.5 hours flight back from LAX, so assuming he was on a plane within 30 mins, the earlist he could be back in the UK is around 2pm. |
| Forum Thread | Backroom staff, fitness and upward trajectory. at 10:00 2 May 2024
I am sure this has been discussed on here already, but I have been thinking about how critical the backroom staff supporting McK and the players have been. Over the whole season I do not feel we have been hugely impacted by what I would consider "niggly" injuries that take players out for 1-2 games, the little strains and pulls. We obviously lost players to bigger injuries such as Hirst and more recently Burns but on the whole the squad has been generally available. That is not luck, it suggests the level of pre and post match preparation has been very good, as has training stress management - yet another critical component demonstrating how well the club is being run top to bottom. I've been going to PR for 40+ years, and it has never felt as positive and bouyant as it does now, there is a feeling of stability and trust in the future planning that feels very different to previous upward performance spikes. My only concern is that every time we have then gone and rebuilt a stand, the bubble has burst and everything has subsequently gone t!ts up . . . . |

I would have been tempted to agree, but having gone back to 2018/2019, at no other point do I see such a clear correlation between awarded / conceded / prem relegated teams. Just a very odd thing this season where I have always felt that everytime a Leicester player falls overs in the box, they seemed to expect a penalty. |
| Forum Reply | Penalties at 16:19 1 May 2024
Here's an additional fact. 5.3% of the 94 penalties conceded in the Championship this season have been for Leicester (1), Leeds (1)and Southamption (3). Note that only QPR have conceded 1 also, everyone else has conceded between 3 (9 teams) and 7 (3 teams) We have been awarded 3 and conceded 3. So the question is that whether there is always an inverse correlation with the same sides with most awarded and least conceded, or has this season been an anomoly. I am now officially procrastinating with work. [Post edited 1 May 16:20]

28% of all penalties awarded in the Championship this season have been for Leicester 13 (Thirteen), Leeds (9) and Southampton (5). Others with 5 or more penalties are Hull, Brizzle City, Swansea, Sunderland, Coventry and 'Boro. Not sure what that tells us, but gotta love a stat. Oh, and Leicester's total is the highest per season I could find on an initial search. |
