Taken from a new Coaches Voice piece:
“Forced to retire aged just 22, the then Tottenham coach Clive Allen described him as: “A player and person that you know, every single day, whether training or playing, was 100 per cent committed about everything he did.” With prescience, Allen went on to say: “[He is] a determined and committed character, who is also intelligent and articulate – don’t be surprised if Kieran rises to the top of the game as a coach.””
Hadn’t seen this quite before. Prescient indeed.

At it from the off against a team playing at home with big motivation to win and packed full of top quality players. We could and should have won with the chances missed, errors made and a virtuoso performance from Hutchinson but, in be round, brilliant showing all things considered. Still a lot to do but if we play like that in the last 2 games we will be fine. The only real concern is the Davis injury, he would be a huge miss |

Hladky made a surprise visit to my son’s Ipswich footy training in Cambridge tonight. Was brilliant with the boys and joined in their game playing outfield and absolutely wiped out one of the poor lads with a cracking tackle! My son got to speak with him and have his photo taken with him and came back buzzing. I was a bit angry with my son though as he failed to ask hladky what his favourite cheese was. I told him he had let himself, TWTD and the Club down |

Does anyone know if you’re permitted to enter the ground at half time or during the game? We’re ST holders in the Cobbold but my boy is playing in a tournament at playfield Road tomorrow which is now not finishing until 8pm. We would really like to see the 2nd half if possible. He’s clearly an important cog in the wheel, helping the players and staff develop emotional fitness. Quite an intense character but super bright and likeable. Watching the interview just reinforced that something special is happening at our club and that this is just the start. I liked him saying that success without happiness is failure and how important it is to appreciate and enjoy these moments. He’s 💯 right. COYB |

Got a feeling he may be deployed as CDM/one of the 2 x pivots rather than as a defender. Was his main position when coming through the ranks at OT. Would give us raw pace in that position which is something none of the other options have and could be important against teams like, say, Leicester |

I’m driving from Cambridge for the game tomorrow which I haven’t done for a while. Has anybody got any tips on where to park? Will hopefully arrive in Ipswich about 2.15 and don’t mind a bit of a walk - would rather not get trapped in one of the car parks near the ground. Any help gratefully received |
