norwich City Executive Director....

Can work both ways that... not wanting to seem to be biased against us.

In reality, this is a box ticking exercise - they would have to give Town some really good explanation as to why recent precedent was not being followed.

Wonder what options Town would have for appeal should it not - I was always under the impression you couldn't use lawfare, but Citeh have rather dispelled that theory recently.

We don't see much going this clubs way
at 12:54 22 Sep 2025

This 10 minute option is ridiculous even thinking about it, which is why it is a non starter. Game situation is completely different, and you can't force a team to play the same players due to the possibility or illness/injury when it takes place.

I also don't see any situation for competition fairness that awards a result to another team and gives us a potential 20 minutes less than other sides in one of the games due to no fault of our own.

All precedent points to a fully replayed match. The EFL would have to give an extraordinary reason not to follow recent rulings given out.

We do need to see an improvement for sure, hopefully the partnership can develop with game time. And you are right, we can't afford the current ratio of games to sloppy error from nothing balls.

Though it has to be said (not from you) but am amazed how apparently Cam Burgess was as good as Baresi now he's not with us. I thought Cam was our most improved player under McKenna, and no worse than Jacob in the Prem - but let's not forget Jacob has made less appearances than Cam did when he was attrocious against Barrow and was getting turned by Joe Ironside at Cambridge.

I don't begrudge Freddie a decent payday at what looks like the tail end of his pro career.

I forgot he played in our preseason game at home to Nice and had a good game from the bench so its a surprise to see him struggle subsequently at 3rd tier level.

Towns girls are up against a lot of higher standard players this season - Forest fielding Garcia who has played 18 times for Spain, and a couple of Welsh/NI internationals.

Steep learning curve.

Eddie was a weird one.

Touted as a 'new Alan Hansen' in his Everton days, he was prone to some real panicky gaffes such as the one in the Arsenal game. I think he also gifted Dalian Atkinson the equaliser in our opening game of the Premier league with a wild mis-kick.

I think he went on to play Prem football with Charlton as well if I recall

New fan favourites
at 16:38 2 Sep 2025

I'm desperate for either Jack Clarke or Jaden to turn it around from where they currently are and become fan favourites.

I enjoyed Azons cameo, think if he gets significant game time and manages to get off the mark quite early he could become a favourite.

Probably a big correlation between those who are getting angsty about him now and those who wanted him out after Bristol Rovers. Which makes it bizarre now because we have a body of evidence about him.

We should absolutely give him time, even if this season isn't the top 2 we all hoped it would be. Even then we would have to be very poor to not make the play offs with this squad imo.

That doesn't mean people can't criticise or be dissappointed of course. I'm fully behind Kieran, but the fact we can't really seem to get a tune out of Philogene, Clarke or Smodicz yet (despite their obvious talent at this level and previous performance) is one of mine.

Let's not forget the following season we even went on a run of 4 wins in 15 games culminating in the infamous Bristol Rovers draw.

So, a good season we were not the joined up band we became.

Yes, Ashton has been disastrous for this club clearly.

I long for free signings, a lick of paint on the turnstiles being 'progressive' and I miss Fleetwood away.

I assume there's a 94 page thread on the Brizzle forum you could post in to stroke their egos if you want.

It's a fair question, we've probably lost more than we thought we would.

Sometimes you don't always get what you want.

Adapt. Move on.

Yes.

I think i'll take solace in that I do feel our entire squad strength is on a very high level now even if we aren't performing as a team yet and some individual players need to start showing more.

Also that we can could be utter dog this season, lose 16 games and still make the play offs. I've not totally written off autos so soon, but it feels difficult when trying to rebuild a team whilst the season is ongoing.

Agreed. I don't think moving that team on is necessarily per se a bad thing - it performed miracles and probably wasn't good enough for top flight football.

But as fans we did have a connection/love for that team that we don't have for the new players yet and that is only natural (no one loved the players in that side from the off)

My worry is that I am finding it increasingly difficult to believe you can build a new team on the hoof and get 1st or 2nd this season.

I presume its 'easily attainable' i.e appearance related rather than international caps though

We will probably have a sell on, just incase he does a prime Beckenbauer impression.

£4m is probably a couple of million short, and a decent snipe by Coventry.

It is better than him having left for nothing before signing that new deal though, and far better to not have him moping about the place unable to move and not fully committed.

100%

We aren't firing as a squad atm, but look at the book value of our squad now compared to when we got promoted from L1

It's night and day. We are current way less as a team than the sum of our parts, whereas in our back to back promotions it was the opposite. It's up to the manager to change that and it takes time.
