In case it helps......we have just been through this. We had a 1.73% that ends Dec 1st. So been experiencing the early part of this.

Went via a broker (Habito). They sourced a few providers that fix 6 months ahead. So we locked in a rate in July for Dec. Still nearly double previous, but better than it might've been.

Key message is some providers do lock in 6 months ahead. Or they did.

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere and in the grand scheme of things, not the largest issue we have at the mo........but twice last night, within 2-mins, a good crossfield pass was directed at LM. On both occasions he missed the ball.

On both occasions as the ball was in flight, LM was sweeping his locks from his face.
Hardly the best preparation to receive a pass.

Maybe just me, but I couldn't believe it.

Same here with our tennis club....also in Herts, maybe we've played as oppos!
Consensus was to follow LTA advice - currently suspend comps for a week!

We are going to halt comps and organised sessions, but keep courts open and available for those who want to play independently or in families

Herts football suspended all junior leagues, we may let the U7s run around on saturday instead as they are in same school class, but will social distance parents....

Butlins
Our kids love it.
Not weather dependent.
But price varies between accommodation and "resort"

Good on you

I have done the GNR 3 times.
Once for MS (08)
Once for Guide Dogs (09)
Once for Muscular Dystrophy (16)
And the wife has done 2.
Great weekend.

My training tips:
Find your nearest Park Run. Great atmosphere free 5k each week as a starter.
Try to have covered 10 miles minimum (in one session!) before the run. Ideally 12. The crowd are worth a mile to you though! They'll get you along the seafront.
Add a mile or so each month. Roughly be able to do 5 by March. 6 by Apr. 7 by May. 8 by June. 9 by July. 10 by Aug. 11 by Sept. Ish.
Don't feel all the training needs to be running. I nursed a sore calf through my last one as I needed to get through. It's time on your feet that is important. 2-hour walks just as valuable.
The above is from someone who "got round" in 2h15, 2h7 and 2h18. If you're a 7-min miler, ignore me!

Enjoy.

Ball boys/girls
at 12:28 2 Oct 2017

Apologies if this is mentioned in the middle somewhere but I read the initial post then rushed to reply. I too feel strongly on this.
On Saturday, one girl dropped her phone when retrieving the ball in the second half. Paused to pick it up.
Ridiculous.

Go to Everton and the ball boys are part of the team. Cheered out on to the pitch (or they were when I went). Others have mentioned West Ham.

Ours are poor.

Did we lose because of it? No.

Were we poor last year because or it? No. But it does represent an apparent accepted slackness in the club which was reflected on the pitch last year.

So, if in theory our first 11 looked like this...
at 11:47 23 Jun 2017

Bart

Emmanuel (don't rate Spence)
Chambers
Webster
Kenlock

Skuse
Huws (please)
Ward

McGoldrick
Garner
Sears

Bench = GK, Knudsen, Smith, Bishop, Rowe, Dozzell, CF

Surprised more on here don't give Sears a chance.
I'd give him the start. Up front. No wing nonsense. Think he could get 15-20 if persevered with up front.

If considering Loch Fyne etc then I'd suggest the Mussel Inn
Central
Not expensive
Been to Edinburgh twice on trips up to watch the Open Golf. Both times we ate in the Mussel Inn. And would again.
They do more than Mussels. But heavy fish emphasis!

Oddly enough I'd take that 11 to start the next match - esp with injuries up front.
Moore on the bench obviously.

For those who aren't renewing....
at 12:31 13 Mar 2017

I saw my first match in May 83, and it was the earlier milk crate comment which made me login to comment today - having had my essential milk crate taken by a pitch invading QPR fan in approx '84 to launch at ITFC fans. I was 10 or 11 then and have been going every year since as a season ticket holder with my Dad.
I now live in Hertfordshire with my wife and 2 children and my Mrs works a Tuesday night. So it's only Saturday I get to.
I have a 150-mile round trip to home games (less than some, but more than most?)
For the past 2 or 3 years I have been balancing cost of ticket (£500 as we sit to get the same view as where I used to stand with my crate), cost of travel, cost of time away from my 2 boys. Against spending time with my Dad and doing what I (used to) love doing. But these days, if I see my parents for a pub pint and sandwich before the match that tends to be the highlight.
The other thing to consider..... my 4 year old. Loves wearing his shirt and is the only boy in school supporting the team he does. It won't be long before he can join Dad and Grandad at a match. And that I look forward to.
Probably on the fence therefore re renewing. I think this will be the the first year I will make the call to cancel my DD at least. Last year I didn't almost out of laziness and got lured into renewing as it was the easier thing to do.
But for me it is a balancing my team v my life choices.
Not necessarily Mick or Marcus.

Dozzell - bulk him up or leave him be?
at 12:14 17 Jan 2017

Andre Dozzell has that natural ability to glide round the pitch and round players. Textbackup commented on it in an earlier thread on Lawrence. My feeling is if we build him up to cope with the physicality, he'll lose some of that natural ability. And be a worse player for it.
Luke Hyam - broke into the team as a creative player, a good passer. Bulked up into a physical specimen, but a worse player for it. And now appears injury prone.
Teddy Bishop - more similar to Dozzell in his ability to go past players easily, looked great early. Spent months out injured and came back more physically developed, but not yet the player he was. And now appears injury prone.

I fear Mick will see a need to bulk Dozzell up. But I hope he doesn't.

I had one on my cheek. Bottom right one.

GP wouldn't remove it as classed as "cosmetic". Like everyone sees my bottom cheeks.

Resorted to cotton. Tied tight to cut off blood supply.
Took 10 days or so to fall off. But worked a treat.

One comment......the deadline for UCAS applications is Jan 15th so still time to apply for Sept 17 starts.
If in doubt, apply.
Nothing to lose and you're not committed to go if/when you get offers.
Just keeps your options open.
You can easily complete the form in the time you have - but the statement takes time.
Of my Year 13's, to date, 3/4 have had unconditional offers suggesting Uni's are very keen to recruit this year....
