It was only a matter of time, and today just forced my hand. I have just cancelled my season ticket DD after supporting the club through thick and thin for 28 years - I no longer want a single penny of my hard-earned cash going to this football club that treats its fans like a cash cow and produces a performance like that today. We have been forced to accept absolute rubbish for years now, with the promise that better times were just around the corner.
Well, this is one corner too many - I'd rather keep my money for me and mine thank you. Watching players earning my annual salary in just one or two weeks while playing like lazy overpaid idiot primadonnas just turns my stomach now, so enough is enough. Sorry if some of you don't agree, but feel free to keep chucking your money at IP1 if you want. Me, I'm zipping up the purse strings! Here's hoping that you get your faith rewarded .... |

Would be a shame to lose Priskin (had high hopes for him), but maye a loan period out somewhere will sharpen him up.
Scotland may not be the most exciting of players, but wasn't he our top scorer last season .....? |

Much as I'd hate to see Connor go, and much to the disappointment of those 'let's keep him at all costs' fans, Ipswich are and always have been a selling club. We cannot compete financially or in any other way with even mid-table Prem clubs like Sunderland at the moment. And this has been talked up so much now, I think Connor is likely to be unsettled now and expecting a move somewhere. Obviously preferentially for him it would be Liverpool, but if its Sunderland, then that is a good career progression for him.
If he does go, then this is what must happen as a minimum:
1. The transfer fee must be fair (£9m + £4m is OK, a larger lump sum up front would be better)
2. A sell-on clause should be added in
3. A loan-back would be good, but unlikely from Sunderland as I guess he would be in their first XI
4. The bulk of the transfer fee must be reinvested for replacements and not just disappear into a black hole!

Bit harsh JimmyJazz! I thoiught it was a pretty good summary of a forgettable(ish) season.
Just one thing - haven't we had 3 league Cup semis now, rather than 2....? 1984-85 vs Norwich, 2000-01 (I think) vs Birmingham, and then this year against Arsenal. Probably just nitpicking though - good blog CHB! |

Mad game, I think my heart stopped at least 3 times! Very good start, then all the players seemed to take a sh!t pill all at once and Boro had us on the ropes. Then at 3-1 I thought it was all over, but credit to Jewell for a good sub (Wickham up front and Martin on the wing made the difference), and credit to the lads for making a fight of it at the end.
All in all a good game, decent entertainment (mostly), and a reminder that sometimes a season ticket is worth 20 duff games for 2 or 3 crackers!
Now lets get ready to rumble ...... COYB!!!!!!!!!!!! |
