Leeds Linked With Priskin Loan
Leeds Linked With Priskin Loan
Friday, 12th Aug 2011 11:09

Leeds United have been linked with a loan move for Town striker Tamás Priskin. The 24-year-old seems certain to leave Portman Road this summer with a number of frontmen ahead of him in the pecking order.

The £1.7 million August 2009 signing from Watford wasn’t included amongst the subs for last week’s season opener at Bristol City and missed Tuesday’s Carling Cup defeat to Northampton as he was away with Hungary.

Blues boss Paul Jewell has never appeared entirely convinced by Priskin, whose contract is up next June, and sent him out on loan to Swansea for the final weeks of last season.

The only thing I can remember Priskin for in a positive way is scoring against Arsenal last season.

How can scotland possibly be ahead of him in the pecking order!! especially after tuesday night, it showed how if chopra gets injured we have little else up front, elllington did ok!!!
Send scotland out and keep priskin!!

You can't send Scotland out if nobody wants him!

agreed , much rather keep priskin and get shot of scotland . with PJ's man management we still might get a player out of Priskin , he's only 24 .

priskin just doesn't get played regularly.. seriously, put him out on loan, because he actually does have class! he showed he just needs confidence when he had that run with roy keane in charge, then he had one bad game, and keane took him out!, i've always rated priskin! the fans just want to see him play badly so they can get on him back more and more!, is chopra gets injured, wow - scotland and ellington - now that is a promotion strike force!!

Agree, would have Priskin ahead of Scotland. Priskin needs games. Leeds obviously would prefer Priskin over Scotland too by the sound of it?

Agree with others that Priskin is ahead of Scotland, by virtue of his age, and skill. As far as putting a ball in the net though, it just doesn't happen often enough. So frustrating - just like it was with Pablo. I would rather we kept him. I think he would do better in a decent side, which hopefully we will be this season!

I bet he scores against us!(if allowed to play) - would prefer he stays as think he is next best option we have up front and has some hidden talent, just needs to find it!

I'd rather get rid of both Priskin and Scotland and have Murray as our 4th choice. He looks a decent player when given the chance. But i doubt we'll find 2 clubs willing to pick up the wages of those two.

Priskin has scored less goals than Sam Parkin and some of you want to keep him?!

Things are just looking better and better for us, this one is just too good to be true!..

Give Priskin a 6 month loan with 24 hour recall after the first month. That way if he proves himself we can offer a new contract. If not we cut our losses in January.

If a deal can be done do it. Keeps him fit, allows us to concentrate on our more favoured strikers. Like many others I have been disappointed by his effort. Sometimes he looks quite useful, then others he'll come on as a sub and appear to have no clue how to play the game!

On a side note just read the story in the Evening Star, re the comments made by Elizabeth Edwards. Well done. I know exactly who she is talking about. It's one thing to be supportive, create an atmosphere and start the chants off, that I have a lot of time for. But these so called fans I was sat very near to at the Cambridge Utd game when they set that smoke bomb off. Didn't really bother me that much, but it was after that when they started shouting at the ballboy, calling him a "C#;t". I was clearly not the only one disgusted at this. From that point on you couldn't help but just be irritated by everything they shouted and sang.

So I echoe Elizabeth Edwards comments. Start Town songs all day long, create a great atmosphere. But when you start abusing ballboys (The one in question was probably no more than 12-14 years old) it's gone too far. Definately grow up or stay at home.

Echo your comments CraigForrestGateau, i'm pretty certain the same 'fans' are near me in the North Stand, and I am sick and tired of them, we all like a good swear at footy, but these guys just take it too the extreme. They should be dealt with by the stewards at PR, but they get nose-bleeds if they walk up up any further than row F ... so no chance.

I'd put Priskin way, way ahead of Scotland ... especially after his inept performance on Tuesday!.

Don't forget Priskin got 'The Goal Of The Season' against the budgies !!!!
He's got a lot to offer ..... but I'm not too sure he knows it.

Think Chopra and JET will be our front men and Ellington as injury cover and sub, PJ is gettin rid of Keanes players so Scotland and Priskin will go even if its end of season when their contracts run out.

Can see Jewell buying another striker in Jan with the Wickham money, but at the moment we have enough strikers.
Jewell is looking for CB cover, by the time the window shuts he will have signed 10 players so big turn around. There will be more coming in the Jan Transfer window

taylor15 I think you'll find it was when he was having a good game he got dropped by he shall not be named. Also did anyone see united legends bs Celtic legends lets just say keane was so funny I don't know why we appointed him as manager because he looked like our whole team was last season

'Offer him a new contract' Tractorman???

Must have been on the wacky Baccy

I will drive him up there as long as he stays there. Him and Scotland are not good enough and I agree with other posts on here that Murray shoulkd be ahead of them both.

PRISKIN IS 24! SCOTLAND IS FAT, SLOW, AND OLD. PRISKIN HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER! JUST PUT HIM OUT ON LOAN!

SamWhiteUK added 12:34 - Aug 12
NOOOOOO. At least it's just a loan. Hopefully it has a recall clause, then when PJ finally realises that Scotland is a fat, slow, overweight journeyman, we don't get stuck with him.

Priskin is normally top of his tree at Christmas time!

Would be a shame to lose Priskin (had high hopes for him), but maye a loan period out somewhere will sharpen him up.

Scotland may not be the most exciting of players, but wasn't he our top scorer last season .....?

Keaneish added 12:52 - Aug 12
He was a poor replacement when we couldn't initially get Chopra under Keane.
That said, i think he's a better option form the bench than scotland but its apparent that contract situations are on Jewell's mind.
