Squad player, every team needs them to fill out the squad and provide cover, added a bit of experience. He's been unlucky with injury. Not every signing will be a worldy, not every squad player can be the next star. I don't think he's been a bad player to have around the place. Wish him all the best. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: I'll Make a Decision on My Future in the Summer at 17:47:42
He's not a quitter and has always been a loyal manager to the clubs that have employed him. I guess I'm in the minority but I like and respect Mick and will back him as long as he's here. I hope he can grab it by the scruff of the neck and drag the club out of this hole. |

I hope he does well. As others have said, when fit he's a solid performer at this level. Thinking back, I'd much prefer him to to sammon, n.hunt, nouble etc so a definite move in the right direction. Good luck. |

I think it was just to tick a box that ITFC have to look at any out of contract winger available. |
| News Comment | Town's Style Didn't Suit Oar at 10:47:38
Our style isn't pretty but is perfectly suited to the championship, much better and a lot less frustrating than a few years ago when we would so easily get pushed off the ball and lose games in the last ten minutes week in week out. Tommy Oar obviously wasn't man enough to join the fight, look how Freddie's game has changed since he's been here, proper fighter for the cause, on his way to legend status if we can keep hold of him. Why so many negative people? We'll never be Barcelona. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Digby Part of First-Team Squad at 10:11:44
All this nonsense about square peg in a round hole. Players don't get given a position at 8 years old and told they have to play there forever. Was Walky a square peg in a round hole towards the end of his career at town, don't think so. What about Richard Naylor, arguably far better at centre half for us. If someone has talent, they can fill a number of positions. They also have to fit into a team for it all to work. |
| News Comment | Congolese International Linked at 16:06:26
In the ITFC annual my kids got for Christmas it says Cole Skuse plays midfield and right back. I think he'd make an awesome right back, he's cool headed, reasonably quick and good in a tackle. I think he's too one dimensional as a midfielder but has shown resilience and has (touch wood) been relatively injury free. |
| News Comment | Smith Surprised By All Whites Omission at 10:24:45
@ the man, I understand what you're getting at, whilst I've seen one or two misplaced passes I have enough understanding of the game to see the important stuff he does well every week, tackles, strong headers and the ability to work with Berra and chambers. He and berra quite often cancel the opposition out before they get a chance to make use of the ball. I still think he's the best man for the job. We need a bit more positivity around here, we're in the mix for playoffs and promotion but still people find things to moan about. Supporters support. |

Tommy has been on the receiving end of some unfair criticism this season, he does exactly as the manager asks week in, week out. He's been solid and in fairness he very rarely gives the ball away. I'm sure he won't miss a trip to Korea at this point in the season. Put you feet up Tommy. You deserve it. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Tabby's Fabulous at 12:29:15
What would be preferable.... 2 fragile wingers that clearly don't set the world alight in training and may or may not be good enough or a solid, workmanlike professional that will put a shift in? Chambers, mings and/or parr as our full backs need cover, none of them are Roberto Carlos. Playing central midfielders wide provides strength and cover for the full backs. We don't have the strength in depth to afford fancy wingers, we rely on breaking teams down, not playing round them. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Tabby's Fabulous at 07:17:30
You won't win tough championship games with lightweight wingers, as much as everyone would love to see us play like Barcelona every week, it's not going to happen. Tabb has been solid for us, not the best footballer in the world but he runs his heart out every game and has proved he's loyal to the club by staying and fighting for a place which is rare. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Top Two Now Unlikely at 07:39:14
I've never seen so much negativity in my life, step away from being upset at a run of bad form and look at the bigger picture. Mick has bought stability, team spirit, discipline, got rid of them bad apples and set the club on a firm footing to push forward, he's done well in the past and has done a fantastic job here on the money available. Think back to Keane and jewell, it was a shambles. I can see his reasoning for sticking with the back four, continuity, anyone who's played will know there's nothing worst than constant chopping and changing. I for one don't think we'll get anyone better to run a club in our situation. |
