Look at me! (or my son to be precise)
at 16:43 4 Mar 2025

He's just made it into the school football team despite there being loads of academy players in there and him being partially sighted!!! Even better as he can't see sh1t in bright sun light, but he soldiered it and won through! So chuffed! really big mental health win apart from his love of footy.

(sorry!)

Very late addon edit so as not to bump this with a new reply: thanks so much for the support all - your good eggs.

"Significantly, the forthcoming chancellor put Donald Trump's America on a par with Russia - widely viewed here as a security threat to Europe more broadly. "We are under such massive pressure from two sides that my absolute priority now really is to create unity in Europe," Merz said."

"German voters worry about security in Europe - including the future of the 35,000 American soldiers stationed in Germany.

France and the UK are nuclear powers. Germany is not. Even its conventional military is woefully understaffed and underequipped (to the immense irritation of European partners), so Germany fears it's a soft target.

I've held back as long as I could, but have no choice but to ask it write some copy for a website. The stuff it's doing is scarily impressive. I kind of regret finding out for myself now - terrifying.

Edit: sorry, this is in regards to nothing, but I just had to express it!

Edit: unthinkingly, I just asked it to 'do xyz please'. mental

question about non-teaching jobs in schools
at 13:36 11 Feb 2025

I've been watch Educating East London, and old channel 4 show about a particular school. I think I could do the job of go-between between kids in trouble and the teachers, but how on earth do you get into that line of work?

Sorry if this is boring.

Grenfell Tower decision

Right decision I would say - its stood long enough as a sad blot on the landscape - I don't think its healthy for group mental health to have kept it up for this long, let alone for ever more.

I hate to be disagree with some of the families, but can't help but wonder if this a rare time when the people involved aren't actually in the best position to decide whats best. Knock it down and put up a memorial.

‘We’re evicting our 90-year-old tenant because of Labour’
at 15:54 19 Dec 2024

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/property/buy-to-let/evicting-90-year-old-tenan

(various paywall removers avaialable)

It turns out that this couple *had* to evict a 90 year old because Labour *might* have made them pay an extra 11 grand tax. They bought for £164,000 and sold at £425,000. This was all Labour's fault.

Remember that everyone - Labour's fault.

... By all the advice sites / stats and and blogs?

Does everyone use those or even pay for the premium services? I'll have a look at the predicted line ups, but anything else seems like asking someone else to play the game for you, so what's the point?

Is anyone doing really well this year? Ie, top 100,000 or even top 10,000? If so, how have you done it?

From 2.30 (the first half is sh1t - the 2nd will live me to my dying day)

And then what must be the classic of the genre:

I coached under 12s with this guy. He was a gem. Can't believe he's gone - he was super fit. The team doesn't know yet, so no idea how we tell them their coach has gone, but that's a detail. Make the most of life everyone.

Best player you've played with / against?

My mate in the over 35s played against Paul Konchesky the other day. Apparently, he had the star struck ref in his pocket. (cool story bro)

Personally, its some Ex-Charlton bod whose name escapes me (in an over 45s game).

Beat that!
