Oh the number of times that bloke has rinsed us of some very good talent over the years...

Before trashing the club, Marcus Evans purchase probably saved us from complete financial oblivion and possibly going to the wall.

Looking unlikely to pay players again this month. Free agents in two weeks, apparently.

Genuinely no idea about them, is there likely to be anyone we would harbour any interest in?

Without wanting to sound like I'm being an @rse, it's not our problem and I don't much care.

RVN sacked by Leicester

It's not even that.

He got sold when he did because someone met his release clause and the player wanted to go.

Simple as that.

Why do we always play norwich at home first not away ?
at 13:02 26 Jun 2025

Uggg, remember that game.

Holt got 3, should have been sent off for trying to hack Jack Colback clean in half.

Pretty rubbish day all round, typical Keane era performance, looked ok going forwards but a shambles at the back. O'Dea or Delaney getting sent off, I think. Random loanee in the defence. Leadbitter hit the first man with every corner.

Grumbles? Bit strong.

Voicing obvious concerns - seems a bit more apt.

Yep recognise the proximity to PR is roughly the same, but there is a really good core of folks in Flexistowe who turn out every week.

Will they make the trek over?

It's actually decent for us, it makes a shorter trip home, as we often make a weekend out of it, see the men's game, see the women's and then drive back to Bucks.

And, just measure of how well the women are doing, my lad (11), has decided he wants Natasha Thomas' name and number on his shirt this season, ahead of any of the men's team.

Indeed the club press release says that, but it still feels like we risk losing that great atmosphere around the women's team.

Felixstowe to Colchester isn't exactly a local schlep, is it?

Club sat they'll play at ColU for the next 2 years.

Bit disappointed about this - my kids loved going to see them at Felixstowe and there was a really good feeling to the games there.

I hope this move doesn't lose that.

Clearly a positive step in the longer term, but just doesn't quite feel right.

And now, the glass half empty
at 10:59 19 Jun 2025

I think my point is more about the rampant expectation that we'll walk off with the league.

I have genuine concerns we'll be ineffective in attack and we looked a real mess in our own third.

I also didn't mention that the goalkeeping department still has major questions. I'm far from convinced about any of our three senior keepers.

Realistically, I'm not convinced we're any stronger in the Championship than we were last time out and, frankly, we had a season build on tremendous team spirit and a boatload of luck (except for penalties, which we're apparently not allowed anymore).

Is Greaves an upgrade on Cam?

We're weaker in the middle of the park (as it stands) than last time out.

We have a plethora of lightweight wingers, who despite the hype, I'm far from convinced by.

Long term injuries to Burns and Ogbene, who might never get back to where they were.

Our forward line has more than a few concerns in terms of both talent and availability.

I'm sure we'll make signings, but let's really not get ahead of ourselves...

Do you have much contact/access to/with the club over the close season at all?

Selfish self interest apart, this does have all the hallmarks of a well thought out and balanced appointment though.

Despite having no great love for Brentford, I really hope this works.

Must admit, I'm finding it too much for kids too.

Season finished a month ago, but it's been two tournaments every weekend ever since.

Have just decided to pull the boy out for a few weeks, just so he can have some downtime.
