Budgies on TWTD...
at 23:35 24 Aug 2019

but mostly on the news articles comments section.

It's obvious to me that TimmyH, ITFCsince73 and Northstandveteran are either the same person or else best mates who post in conjunction with each other. They're definitely not Blues. So why do Gav and Phil let these people continue to post?

TimmyH has been posting for several years but it's pretty clear, to me anyway, that the guy has never seen a Town game in his puff.

Get shot of these halfwits and, while you're looking into those (hopefully) have a look at PositivelyPortman's contributions which look decidedly iffy to me. I have my doubts about jas0999 as well who never stops complaining no matter what the score is.

That Second Half - The Singing
at 21:42 10 Aug 2019

I was sat in the Portman Stand and the whole of the North Stand Lower and most of the North Stand upper along with some behind me singing.

It was ace. You can't buy that experience.

Proud to be a Blue

I went along today. The majority of people there seemed to be old farts like me (64) but nevertheless there was a wonderful turn out - I'd say close to a thousand.

There'll never be another Kevin Beattie.

Whats the craziest trip youve made following Town?
at 22:00 26 May 2018

I went on that special- Beattie scored with a magnificent header about five minutes from the end (we lost 2-1 at Everton)- but the train didn't stop at Peterborough. I'm pretty sure it was Spalding which at the time had an island platform. Town's special sat on the right hand side for a while and then the Norwich special turned up on the left hand side. Most people saw the funny side of it and, apart from some gesturing on the platform from both sides there was no violence. So don't talk bollix.

I wish people wouldn't make up a load of lies just because something happened forty odd years ago.

Wednesday don't seem to think much of Rhodes then....
at 12:31 25 Sep 2017

That was me posting on your pre-season report. I'm a Town supporter and have been since 1962.

I have no particular interest in Wednesday. The point is that you chose to highlight a comment from an obvious troll who almost certainly doesn't support them, rather like the Budgies who infect/infest the comments on Ham's news reports with their drivel whilst pretending to be staunch Town fans.

It's a bit like a supporter of another team doing a series of reports, like yourself, on opposition teams' fans, doing one on Ipswich then prominently quoting the thoughts of Benters as if he represents the general feeling amongst the Town followers instead of being a perpetual whinger who's only happy when he's moaning.

The Nodge German experiment has stated well.
at 17:42 27 Aug 2017

You're not being partial are you Townly? Because it sounds like the sort of thing that an avid Norwich supporter would say: Delia goes to be replaced by far east money men who would get rid of the manager and bring in somebody (ex Premier League, probably Italian that the folks back home would recognise) who supposedly knows what they are doing: inject 10s of millions of Pounds to buy quality players and walk into the Premier League with a subsequent instant return on investment from the TV money.

However, Championship sides (second division as we called it in my day) have had a patchy record from far east investment. Birmingham's investors have wasted their money so far and that money appears to have dried up. Wolves have thrown £10 million plus on individual signings but it still didn't stop Neil Warnock's Cardiff, with reasonably priced additions, from beating them at home. Aston Villa's owners gave di Matteo a massive warchest and then binned hin three months later and left his replacement, Steve Bruce with a clearing up operation.

I like Bruce, I like Warnock. They get results in this division and their sides tend to play decent football while they're doing it. So would McCarthy given the right amount of funds. Unfortunately the tax evading ( legally really!) Marcus Evans has decided that the money he splurged on Keane, Jewell and to a lesser extent Magilton had to stop so now Mick gets dregs and has to make do with the pittance he gets thrown at him hence getting two players from Rangers, managed by the clueless Caixinha, for less than a million.

Be careful what you wish for...

The Rommy Report
at 02:16 16 Aug 2017

I'm in my 60s and am lucky enough to have gone to Wembley to see Town win the FA Cup as well as attending both legs of the EUFA Cup Final.

At that time we all thought that Ipswich would end up winning the league and go on to dominate European football. Alas it was not to be because Robson left, the economics of English football changed and partly because of that Town got into serious financial difficulties which eventually resulted in relegation.

People like youself Rommy and even lads and lasses in their twenties have never experienced real success with Ipswich and have had to put up with years of mediocrity in the second division - not bad enough to go down but unlikely to get promoted. So I'm so pleased that Ipswich have got off to such a cracking start, mainly for the sake of people like yourself, who follow the Town home and away more in hope than expectation. Lets hope the good start continues although I'm sure you won't be counting your chickens just yet!
