League One Vote Likely Next Week
at 07:39:37

Pencilpete spot on. Having moved to North Norfolk in 2014 I still travelled to Ipswich to see matches but I eventually couldn't watching the boring match tactics of MM. I started going during the sixties and had never stopped supporting. This has to be the lowest point, it just can't get any worse or can it. I just don't recognise the club anymore. It is humiliating living here now as most support NC. To make it worse they feel sorry for me with a grin!!!!!! ME saved the club when he came but owners like him can't just watch the life blood drip away and expect no criticism. SAD SAD TIMES. Where are the character players, natural players with grit and skill. We have to be making bad mistakes when prolific scorers come and dry up. We need a Bobby Robson or we'll be staying where we are long after I've popped my clogs. In a nutshell money rules and drives the game and either stay in and spend or get out!.

Posh Co-Owner: Extended Play-Off Solution Gaining Legs With Top 10 Owners
at 20:29:55

I just think the fat lady has sung and we should stop all this second guessing. The club cocked it up yet again. PL has much to answer for and needs to adopt a different approach next year, whenever that is. If you sum up this season it is DISAPPOINTING. The squad is unbalanced, lacking in aggression, lacking imagination and flair. All of us looking at our history of best teams over the past weeks can only underline how far we have dropped from grace. We are now scrapping for the crumbs that we can find under the table. SAD TIMES.

Chambers: We Still Feel We've Got an Opportunity
at 07:35:58

We are where we are for a reason. Don't knock Chambers he is a good captain and has done his utmost ever since he came. Yes he has his weaknesses like every player and similarly Skusey not that I rate his positivity going forward on the field. Like many I do put our situation down to rotation. It is not a good thing especially in this division. PL similarly he has worked hard and has his faults too regards to my previous sentence.
So, sit back and look at some Town DVD's and dream a little. Don't knock the players and staff and hope for a brighter year to come and keep 2 metres apart!

EFL Aiming for June 6th Restart Claim
at 07:05:33

There could be a way of overcoming this all and end the season now. Let all the clubs from top to bottom start the next season with their points tally etc as it stands and then play the new season starting as usual adding to their points tally. In other words joining the two seasons together. This way nobody loses out. Those that did well like Liverpool will have a head start whilst those at the bottom will have another chance. This can cascade from top to bottom. Competitions could be restarted in a similar fashion with some tweaking. In this way nobody misses out on the efforts put in by players managers and owners. I think life is more important and it may still be a problem even in August to start playing sports. This pandemic is a war which has to be won but not at the expense of unnecessary loss of life.

Twenty Years Ago Today, Reuser's Dramatic Debut
at 06:58:11

I can still feel the magic! Every time going to the matches there was such a buzz. Can't remember the last time that happened. All so depressing these days. Highlight game beating Man U 6-3 at home. I had taken my new wife to see the game. She is only 5' 2". Standing only in those days. She only actually saw two goals!! Magic yes, and unlikely to be seen or felt again in my lifetime. Finding those type of Dutch players could be a key factor in the future if we ever get any good financial backing. Burnt fingers should have healed by now but ME needs to find a wealthy backer to hand on the club to for the future. We have the facilities, the ground, the history and most importantly the fan base. We can only hope as we are doing during this different crisis.

The Way Back From Here Will Be Long, But There is a Way
at 17:20:02

Patience!!! ElephantintheRoom where have you been for the last 3 months?! The fans have been fantastic until recently. Early form was brilliant but it turned out to be a damp squib.
Scoring goals is the name of the game and keeping clean sheets, neither of which has happened for a long time. The comments in this blog are spot on. I thought PL was an excellent signing but it turns out he is a nice guy but clueless when his back is against the wall. That's his recent record having left clubs asap after failing. It speaks for itself. He has to go soon and before the end of the season so someone can take us out of this league and fast before the fan base lose heart.

Lambert: Lads Gave Me Everything
at 10:21:42

I tend to agree with many of the comments on here especially dissboy. I can't see ME sacking PL until it is impossible for us to get in the playoffs!!!! However can't see that happening the way things are going. So we are stuck in a rut until such time come. Depressing times but I think we have a reasonable squad with the exception of 3/5. It comes down to tactics especially for the forward play. As to players, I do believe we need a John Walk type player and we just don't have one. Fearless with an eye for goal. I do not understand why PL who has managerial experience on the continent has not looked abroad for players of that calibre. All I do know is we are at least safe but with little chance of progress this year. It may be a blessing folks because on present form we would be ripped apart in the Championship at the present time. Just look at Luton, very good last year but straight back down. It is now all down to Marcus Evans. God help us all.

Ipswich Town 0-1 Coventry City - Match Report
at 18:07:15

And I thought Duncan was bad! This has to be one of the lowest points of the club's history, certainly since I started supporting 60 years ago. Nothing of much importance has happened in most of the last eighteen years. Now we have a manager without a clue as to how to stop the rot. Losing by not scoring has added salt to the infected wound. It is truly painful. Marcus you have to take the bull by the horns and ask Lambert to leave the club because there is no hope of the team even reaching the playoffs under his management. He has made really strange decisions this year which has cost us dearly. The players have absolutely no confidence in front of goal which must be down to training and tactics. INEPT is a word which comes to mind. Sorry Paul but your time is up like so many of your previous appointments. Please go!!!!!

Rowe Back in Full Training, Vincent-Young Making Progress
at 17:28:51

Everybody just wait till Saturday night after the game is over. If it goes badly I think Marcus might make a move but if it does go well sit back and enjoy one of the rare moments this season. It may even improve but don't hold your breath. My hopes have been dashed so many times this year. To make matters worse the Norwich beat Spurs.

Warnock Linked Again But No Contact With Town
at 11:48:26

Sad to say forget the snide remarks to each other for mistakes if PL has a limited contract ME is unlikely to do anything until the end of the season otherwise he's going to lose more money. ME is between a rock and a hard place, but that's down to his poor judgement. Our only hope is that PL does the honorable thing and resigns and takes the hit. I doubt that. Whatever happens in the boardroom we won't have any influence. Management have dug themselves a hole and unless something radical happens the fans are the losers again. Listening and watching breaks all our hearts both from the performances, listening to the rhetoric from the manager and players as well as the long suffering fan base.
Sorry, can't see anything happening at least until after the Coventry game on Saturday. Problem is I don't know what to hope for.

Barton: Sad to Hear Some of the Noises Circling Around Here
at 11:42:58

OUR YEAR TO DATE HAS BEEN A BIT OF A TORTOISE AND HARE SITUATION. WE WENT OFF LIKE A ROCKET BUT NOW WE HAVE GONE TO SLEEP AND OUR MAIN RIVALS HAVE PAST US AT A GALLOP. WHO WOULD HAVE BELIEVED THAT WE WOULD HAVE ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN. I THINK THE WRITING HAD BEEN ON THE WALL JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I THINK THE FANS KNEW IT. PROGRESS HAS TO BE RELENTLESS AND WE HAVE LET A GOOD POSITION GO TO WASTE. I AM SORRY TO SAY THIS HAS TO BE DOWN TO PL AND TRAINING SESSIONS. IT CANNOT BE DOWN TO JUST ONE PLAYER LIKE THE DEMISE OF KJ.

Ipswich Town 0-1 Fleetwood Town - Match Report

OUCH. PAUL LAMBERT MUST GO NOW> EVANS YOUR DECISION TO GIVE 5 YEARS CONTRACT TO THIS LOSER OF A MANAGER WAS A BUSINESS BLUNDER. LAMBERT'S HISTORY OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU SOMETHING FOR GOODNESS SAKE. YOUR GAMBLE HAS GONE TITS UP. HOW ON EARTH HAVE YOU MADE SO MUCH MONEY?
TONIGHT'S MATCH RESULT HAS TOLD YOU THAT OUR LOYAL ITFC FANS HAVE HAD ENOUGH. YOU ARE LIKE A RABBIT STARING IN THE HEADLIGHTS OF A FAST APPROACHING CAR. TAKE THE HIT AND GET RID. THERE ARE MANAGERS OUT THERE WITH EXCELLENT TRACK RECORDS FAR BETTER THAN PL. GET THEM IN NOW BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON SO THEY CAN GENUINELY WEIGH UP THE PROBLEMS BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON. THIS WAY WE MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE OF PROMOTION NEXT YEAR BECAUSE YOU CAN FORGET THIS ONE. MOST TEAMS SEEM TO HAVE US DOWN FOR AN ALMOST CERTAIN WIN HOME OR AWAY! REALLY REALLY SAD HAVING SUPPORTED THIS ITFC FOR 61 YEARS!

Simpson Signs First Pro Deal

This is promising. No fear and an opportunity tomorrow Paul for him to start with at least 45 minutes. There is no point in bringing him on with five minutes to go. The likes of Terry Butcher and many others were blooded in their late teens. No fear. Whats the problem?

Lambert: Fleetwood is a Must-Win Game
at 17:37:31

Cat I think you're right but can you see us winning on our present run of form? Sadly I think not but lets hope not relying on Keane especially. Play the youth up front as they are not predictable and they could run their defence ragged! The most important thing is we are resolute in defence and don't make errors. One can hope for miracles and perhaps the season reignites tomorrow night.

Blackpool 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 09:01:54

Good night Vienna! ME is not going to sell its a nice little earner for him. The club pay him a good percentage on his loan to us which is better than the bank gives! The answer lays with getting PL out of this club before he sends us down into the next league. He did well with Colchester! Unfortunately those days for him are over and he should perhaps think about either retiring or retraining to do something else which requires no skill whatsoever. Oh yes. become a punter on the radio where he can do no damage.

Lambert: That Was a Sore One
at 20:20:50

dropping down dropping down dropping down again. Is this ever going to be reversed? PL's record at this club is a scandal. Why is he allowed to continue. True he has been let down by his players especially Luke Garbutt today. As an old farmer once said to me, you have to be as tight as a cow's arse in autumn at the back. We hardly ever win with Skuse in the team. He went down with his previous club which says it all as a pairing with PL. I hate being negative but its wearing thin now and nobody in their right mind can see us getting into the play offs in this form, so we are consigned to this division for another season which in someways is a blessing because we will not be humiliated by Norwich who looked destined to return to the Championship next year. Will PL still be with us next year? You can bet your bottom dollar he will be! ! Five more bl***y years. Thank ME.
We can hardly score or now defend for a matter of minutes. Positive note, well done Sears for scoring and well done for the young lads playing today.

Town Down to Ninth
at 19:39:47

Cat you're right about the opposition but you must also see that apart from Ipswich the teams currently above us all score goals for fun whereas we can barely put two in the net on a good day albeit once recently. This has to be down to training. This is a product of PL's training team. This is a trademark of his recent management with the likes of Wolves and Aston Villa and further back! Nice guy ! I would rather have a bast**d in charge who won games not losing more than 60%. That's relegation material. 5 years! 5 years! 5 years! I canna believe it ME!!!!

In Norfolk we are now a joke! It's hard living up here now. Slow death in this league. What on earth were you thinking Marcus giving PL a five year contract? The only saving grace is we should stay in this league based on our early success.

No Jackson Red Card Appeal
at 06:59:06

Doctor you are spot on. Looking at the number of goals scored by players in other clubs in Lg 1 it amazes me that we are not further down the table. We are clueless up front and now we have a potential partnership with three goals all season. What a joke. This season is over as far as promotion is concerned. Play some youngsters up front and at least we might see some more goals. Lethargy Mick is absolutely right. Complacency and lack of desire is endemic at this club and has been the main problem this year. All the bigging up by PL has not helped. Hair dryer moments as Fergy used to refer to at Man U would have given these players a good kick up the arse. Back bone and tenacity needs to be restored next season to get out of the league. Let's start a new chapter now before the end of the season.
