God some posters on here love too gain a negative out of a positive !!
Be glad for the lad that he is getting IMO deserved recognition ! At the start of the season he was injuried then was playing catch up under a restrictive Keane. When he did get his chances under Keane he nearly always made an impact.
Against the Arsenal he was outstanding and since then he has worked his butt of for the team out of position on the left and right!
Since these run of games he has still scored and importantly how many times have you seen him in the our box clearing the lines (loads) !!!
These awards are not awarded on potential or the amount of goals he has scored. They are awarded on his TEAM play and alround impact for the TEAM, which he has done very well.
If he wins the young player of the year I for one will be happy ! When was the last time we had a player nominated ? If he does not get it , so be it but it's still good he has been nominated whilst playing for Ipswich Town!
The other award he is up for Apprentceship of the year he should win hands down IMO because how many 17 year olds are doing want he does in the Championship !
Good luck Connor on both nominations , We ( well most) are proud you play for Ipswich Town and you deserve recognition !!! |

His nomination is not just for scoring goals, it is also for his work rate for the team and his workrate has been unquestionable!!! How many times have you seen Connor clearing the ball from inside the box ! Too many times !

I understand what u are saying but be realistic there is a massive difference between reserves/youth football !
I remember RM getting a few run outs under Keane and he did pretty well , however he did get bullied off the ball alot , I have watched a few reserve games and he has missed quite a few chances himself in front of goal.
What we have to remember is that at least now we can talk about missed chances and the FACT the Strikers are getting into those positions is a big step forward.
It was not long ago that we complained the strikers did not get enough balls to create a chance!

So its confirmed then, the youth players i overheard last night were right :-(
Wickhams luck at the moment seems to be against him, a bad injury at the start of the season to his ankle another one with his own player taking him out in training and then getting hurt in the reserves match! Well they say bad luck comes in 3's so that his his 3rd so done and dusted now!
I still feel he will have a big say in what happens to us this season!
And thats a massive blow for us with Macca !!!!! |

19 years old (decent player) but we have our own 19 year olds to develope, why would be progress Arsenals kids ??
Murray is looking good and with more exposure will get better, and off course we have Wickham (just needs a run of games) plus he has been picked for the U21's so England must see Wickham as the better of the two!

The less than warm welcome had nothing to do with Wickham coming on, it was the Priskin going off part; the boos were at Keanes tatics, it made more since to keep Priskin on with Wickham. |
