Dickie: I Wasn't Acting in Stamp Incident
Considering he claims it hurt he got up easily enough and went running after the assistant referee.
I see he doesn’t mention going down every time someone was in his general vicinity - were you being sincere then, Dickie?
Boro Set to Win Waghorn Race as Bid Accepted
Considering what other players have gone for we’re underselling him. Accrington can hold on to their striker, asking for an ‘unreasonable’ fee and rightly so yet we’re selling for a lesser price???
McCarthy: Players "Irked" By Douglas Abuse
Mick's creating a them and us mentality at the club - unfortunately we're the 'them' to their 'us'. He says that he needs the fans onside then berates and goads at every opportunity.
McCarthy: Fans a Massive Part When We're Winning But Can Also Be a Massive Part of Us Getting Beat
But all the fans need is acknowledgement Mick.
"I'm not perfect, I've made mistakes this season and maybe I haven't learned from them quick enough. I'm sorry for that. Me, the staff the players, we have to take responsibility for the season. We can't keep pointing the finger at the fans and expect them to suddenly find positivity and hope from nowhere - we have drained that way and for that I'm sorry, I truely am sorry. But we have seven cup finals left and I hope the fans can find it in their hearts to forgive us for the mistakes of the season and to get behind us through good and bad for the rest of the campaign. But if they can't without seeing more then I understand we have to give them more and we'll try; we have been poor this season but we've never stopped trying."
I bet the response from the terraces would be slightly different if he said something like that.
McCarthy: Bish Has to Get Back to 2014/15 Form
That's a clip around the ear from Mick. Obviously he feels Bishop isn't quite firing on all cylinders - maybe he wasn't overrly impressed with his effort in the under 23s either? But it's a redeemable warning; keep working and it'll come together.
Town Hopeful on Kightly as Best in Talks
Kightly might be a decent signing though don't we predominantly need a left midfielder rather than right? Not that having back up for Ward is a bad thing.
If we replace Murphy with Best... it'd be ruddy hilarious to everyone but us.
Hyam Contract Talks Break Down
Daleyitfc - Rotherham were happy enough with him; they're at our level.
mispeltyouth - I don't think it's helped having Skuse here as he plays a similar role to Hyam. At first we tried to get Hyam to play a different role then accepted boring the fans to death to get both of them in the team.
Hyam Contract Talks Break Down
So are we in talks now or are we going to wait in the summer?
"TWTD understands that talks with midfielder Luke Hyam regarding his new Town contract have broken down."
"Mick McCarthy reiterated that Town will be exercising on Thursday when he said new contracts for Hyam... would be looked at in the summer."
There's no point condemning either the club or player regarding this; we don't know the ins and outs. I'd be happy to see him sign but I know I'm very much in the minority on that one.
McCarthy Won't Sub Players Singled Out for Abuse
So is that why we subbed our highest playing scorer and two players who could make something happen over someone who is going backwards? To stick two fingers up at the fans?
I think that sums Mick up completely to be honest.
Murphy Out But Bishop and McGoldrick on Bench
Think Mick will change things slightly as he blamed fatigue after the defeat to Rotherham - I think Bru will be in for Pringle and Hyam for Douglas.
Wouldn't mind seeing a 4-3-3 with Skuse, Bru and Pringle in the middle (not that Hyam's done much wrong on his return excluding the Rotherham match where everyone was awful) with the alternative being a 4-4-2 with Feeney - Skuse - Bru - Pringle across midfield with Pitman and Sears up top but... neither will happen.
