Bookies don't normally cut as short as 1/9-1/10 until there's sustained, solid backing for him.

Nothing has leaked online in the press either, so there's sure to be internal backing or those ITK.

Andrews always struck me as a smart cookie. He talks a good game as a pundit on the EFL and obviously has a keen eye for details being a set-piece coach. Brentford don't normally go down the conventional route when employing bosses either.

WTF was all the fuss about? *mops brow*

Now 1/6 on to be the new Brentford boss...

Anything approaching 1/10 is effectively a done deal in terms of weight of money I'd say.

EDIT: 1/9 offered now at Paddy's. I imagine someone with Irish links there knows something (hopefully!)

Ogbene will be ready for pre-season.

He was a huge miss last season. He had a magnificent first half for us at Brentford and the team looked really balanced in that opening 40-odd mins prior to his injury.

We won't have a choice if someone hits his release clause!

I think he's a goner if he carries on playing like that. £35m will be a snip for a Forest or a Brighton.

Nevertheless, £65m in the bank (on the P&L sheet) and we keep everyone else... we'd probably take that, no? I know we've been talking to Kwame Poku's agent for the best part of a year, I wonder if he comes into the equation if we can sell Omari early enough?

Frank confirmed as Tottenham manager (n/t)

There's one saving grace that a lot of people haven't spotted. Frank's right-hand man Claus Norgaard remains at Brentford.... Maybe just maybe he's Brentford's continuity guy?!

Sh*t. This is going to sting.

I think there's quite a difference between Brighton and Brentford, personally. Brighton are definitely a bigger club, with deeper pockets. Their wage bill is circa 50% bigger than Brentford's.

In fact, some reports have said Brentford's wage bill was only narrowly bigger than ours this season.

I'm with you on that one. If Kieran isn't prepared to build us/stabilise us in the PL then move on to a mammoth club, Brighton was the one that made the most sense.

The bigger problem is that he wants to move back to manage in Germany.

Forest bought multiple elite-level players (and paid far more than Brentford ever have to secure them).

I'll be gobsmacked if they are in European contention in 2025/26.

That depends, doesn't it? How deep are Brentford's pockets?

He's had a hand in every new infrastructure project here. He's helped design and build the new training ground. (Most) of the players in the squad are here to work/learn with him. The club has been built around him. Brentford would be a very different remit. Their budget/salary structure is one of the lowest in the PL too. They are smart operators but there's a reason why Frank is moving on.

I dunno. I just feel like Kieran strikes me as a guy that likes the idea of building something rather than leaving with a job half-finished.

But a top 10 finish won't be as easy for them next year, surely? Everton, Spurs, (dare I say United?) and even Crystal Palace should finish above them. Their fans aren't enamoured by appointing McKenna according to their main forum.

If he finishes 13th/14th with them, no-one will be clamouring for him to take charge of a Chelsea or Spurs in 12-18 months' time. Plus he'll be viewed as a worse manager than Frank in the eyes of their fans.

I don't doubt it's a good environment to work in - it's what's got them to punch above their weight - but I think it's fraught with as much (if not more) danger than trying to bounce back with us with parachute payments.

If I'm honest, none of them really hold a candle to KMac in terms of people skills, tactical smarts and knowing the club inside out. It's a depressing thought.

Of all the potential destinations, I did not expect him to go to f00king Brentford who have already hit their glass ceiling.

There's so much damage he could do to his reputation there. It'd be a struggle just to maintain what Frank has achieved IMO.

Sky reporting Justin Cochrane going with Frank.

That is dreadful news. Cochrane was a shoo-in for the Brentford job.

I'm now fearing the worst, I have to say.

Neither of that is true.

We're pushing for another season loan with an obligation to buy next summer.
