10% seems a bit steep to me but I am guessing that some clubs are really fleecing fans so we can’t really complain.
It is a concern that football especially at the top level is in danger of pricing fans out of going to matches and whilst demand is outstripping some clubs might not care but I don’t think it’s good for the game |

Most of the established premier league teams are packed full of athletic specimen with power, pace and durability. Our players look like weaklings in comparison. As and when we return to this level this will be something we need to address and with the right scouting in the right places these players can be found probably abroad and possibly cheaper.
In hindsight we have spent a lot on players some who have not been good enough or have the right physical attributes for this league. In Championship though it’s a different matter |

I remember Mick. Used to be an essential part of any away trip on the coaches to hope he was the steward. Glad to see he was doing well when he was last seen and hopefully he still is.
I think the Irene being mentioned was a different one to Irene Davey but I guess she he might have been doing it too at some stage. I remember seeing one of the ladies who used to do it at a couple of away games in the league one promotion season so some are still about.
Don’t get to do many aways these days but probably did 50% or more from late 1980’s to mid 2000’s and a handful each season since until this.
I often wonder just how many hours I spent on those travel club coaches |

Both Wolves and Brizzle City did it in the 1980’s from first division to fourth in consecutive seasons. Would think it’s less likely nowadays with the parachute payments etc unless a club had points deduction numerous seasons |

Got tickets for my daughter and I
Means I keep up my record of having attended at least one away game per season since 1987.
Marooned on 14 points so away league tickets unlikely for me so a welcome boost to get an away cup game with a big allocation |

It does on the face of it seem suicidal the way Davis gets right forward straight from kick off but that wasn’t helped by what ever that abysmal kick off was between Chaplin and Hutchinson followed by Burns racing across the field as the throw was taken leaving our left side totally exposed. At that moment our 3 number 10’s were all within 10 yards of each other on our right side!
Individual errors that have led to us conceding an early goal and setting the tone for the match.
As MOTD said it was totally naive. I’m sure McK does train them to close down and be on the front foot but I am sure he thinks that the players are savvy enough to pick their moments rather than charge Willy Nilly around the pitch like a bunch of primary school kids having a break time kick about |

As someone on 14 points I do find it galling that people have brought tickets for a game and got a further point ahead of people like me whilst they had no intention of going to the game. I only managed 4 away last season so don’t expect to get a ticket ahead of people who did more but it seems that some are using a loophole at the expense of their fellow fans. |

If and I appreciate it’s a big if, Blackburn will accept £9m then we should offer it and then move on if they don’t accept it. McKenna obviously wants him and in terms of some of the fees rumoured £9m is not too bad.
If we refuse to budge then to buy a similar replacement could well cost us more than £9m
Of course it might be that there are other things at play but it does seem that it would be the wrong choice to miss out on Szmodics just because we weren’t prepared to bid a little more |

The One issue from last season’s invasion I recall was the stewards decided that they were not going to let people get on the pitch from the stairs between sections 5 and 6 of SBRL whilst seemingly making little effort to stop people elsewhere. This led to a crush and blockage by that gate and on the stairs with some nearby who were Not going on the pitch getting knocked to the ground.
Had they just let the fans on like elsewhere in the ground it wouldn’t have happened.
Hopefully this time they will let the initial rush go then everyone will be fine. |
