FT 2-4 at Lowie if anyone is interested
at 17:32 5 Jul 2025

Any idea on scorers or lineups?
I thought I found some footage on YouTube but it was a fixed camera not looking at the game but just the heads of 2 Lowestoft fans as they watched the game

The ridiculous shytehousery in the penalty box at corners CAN be ended….
at 12:47 12 May 2025

An issue with this however they try to deal with this is the lack of consistency from Referees including VAR with the decisions seemingly differing from week to week depending on who the officials are and unfortunately who the opposition is.
Until that is sorted out, whatever rule changes are brought in, teams will find ways(often illegally) around it and so often certain teams will get the benefits of decision going their way more than it should based on how they are able to manage the referee.
I have a memory of us playing Reading away under Mick and all 3 goals came from penalties given for holding or pulling in the area but it didn’t to my knowledge happen in any other games so I guess ref was told he went too far?

Commentators you’ve liked and never really liked?
at 20:07 11 May 2025

Barry (Lovely Goal)Davies, Martin Tyler and Motty I remember fondly. Finding old Football highlights shows on YouTube I especially enjoy Hugh Johns commentary who seemed to cover Midland games.
Not a fan of the current premier league ones especially Peter(RASMUS HOJLUND)Drury whose name he shouts as though it’s a certain goal but it never is!but quite enjoy listening to Gary Weaver who does Champ games.
The old radio 2 football commentators were a brilliant listen painting a picture without leaving dead air

I seem to recall they get more excited about selling out the car park instead of the actual seats in the stadium

Clear footage that shows the ball was in play for two seconds before he blew up.
at 10:41 11 May 2025

This is of course true.
As is the statement that had the referee not incorrectly allowed the corner to be taken 3 times then the goal would not have happened. Both are true.
Had he correctly given the drop ball what would have happened after that no-one knows.
At least yesterday the players didn’t capitulate this time and really pushed towards the end.
I must say though I am looking forward to next season not having VAR sucking the life out of games with their checking of some incidents taking for ever with others barely being checked at all.

Is it true someone snatched delaps shirt off a little girl in churchmans
at 23:41 10 May 2025

I just think stealing a gift that probably meant the world to that little girl from her is a really truly horrible thing to do. Perhaps I’m just a sentimental old fool but what this person has allegedly done is incredibly low

If this is true I hope the club can get her another shirt signed by all the squad.
Perhaps if the culprit is also identified they can get some sort of penalty or temporary ban?

You are the ref
at 21:41 10 May 2025

Yes penalty check was after corner number one and as others have said the ref whistled a couple of seconds after the kick was taken so ball was live. Ref and assistants plus VAR have all got it wrong by letting game restart with corner number 2. Both corners 2 and 3 and subsequently the goal should not have happened if they had correctly restarted with a drop ball.
Another frustrating moment in a home campaign of frustrating moments. VAR Premier League guff have made the season nowhere near as enjoyable as it should have been at home. It was always going to be a struggle but I didn’t think it would be this meh

Local Government reorganisation Suffolk
at 11:35 4 May 2025

I do think a “Greater Ipswich “ unitary authority will better serve the people of the area as they will have many of the similar issues such as A14 Orwell Bridge , areas of deprivation etc whilst councillors making decisions on those issues that are based in say Newmarket or Bungay will just not get what it’s really like as it doesn’t effect them.

So, season tickets up 10%
at 15:09 24 Apr 2025

10% seems a bit steep to me but I am guessing that some clubs are really fleecing fans so we can’t really complain.
It is a concern that football especially at the top level is in danger of pricing fans out of going to matches and whilst demand is outstripping some clubs might not care but I don’t think it’s good for the game

Rough game
at 21:01 5 Apr 2025

Most of the established premier league teams are packed full of athletic specimen with power, pace and durability. Our players look like weaklings in comparison. As and when we return to this level this will be something we need to address and with the right scouting in the right places these players can be found probably abroad and possibly cheaper.
In hindsight we have spent a lot on players some who have not been good enough or have the right physical attributes for this league. In Championship though it’s a different matter

Breaking news from the Galloways
at 18:27 3 Apr 2025

I remember Mick. Used to be an essential part of any away trip on the coaches to hope he was the steward. Glad to see he was doing well when he was last seen and hopefully he still is.
I think the Irene being mentioned was a different one to Irene Davey but I guess she he might have been doing it too at some stage. I remember seeing one of the ladies who used to do it at a couple of away games in the league one promotion season so some are still about.
Don’t get to do many aways these days but probably did 50% or more from late 1980’s to mid 2000’s and a handful each season since until this.
I often wonder just how many hours I spent on those travel club coaches

Both Wolves and Brizzle City did it in the 1980’s from first division to fourth in consecutive seasons. Would think it’s less likely nowadays with the parachute payments etc unless a club had points deduction numerous seasons

Got tickets for my daughter and I
Means I keep up my record of having attended at least one away game per season since 1987.
Marooned on 14 points so away league tickets unlikely for me so a welcome boost to get an away cup game with a big allocation
